Chapter 83: You’re invited
Chapter 83: You’re invited
"So I just have to send this to the demon territory...You really threw a hot potato in my hand..." I couldn’t help saying to myself as I looked down at the stone in my hand.
This was a stone that had the soul of Malphis sealed inside of it.
Gran Jurad had sent it back to the Redmont Estate after he passed the trial for the second hero’s relic.
After passing that trial, he also took care of the bishop that had been possessed by Malphis.
It wasn’t a full possession, but rather he had been turned into a puppet with shadow magic.
This was the kind of possession that could be broken as long as one used light magic to purify him. It was just that no one had done this before because no one thought that one of the bishops of the church would be controlled.
This wasn’t something that had happened in the game, so Gran Jurad had been curious about what this change would mean.
But after taking care of the bishop, everything else went smoothly as they headed back to Bristol City.
"Well as long as Val Zahar sends someone to the border, we can get them to transport this back to him. It’s just that it’ll have to be someone that he has full control of."
Since claiming the Sanguine Bracelet, Val Zahar had been using it to build up his power.
It was a bracelet that could control blood and he had been using it to bring certain demons under his control with blood clots that would kill them if they betrayed him.
So it wasn’t as if he didn’t have anyone under him.
"If he makes full use of Malphis, it should be much easier for him to take over as the demon king."
As I was looking at this stone, I still couldn’t help complaining about how it was a hot potato that had been thrown into my hand. But I knew that Gran Jurad couldn’t take care of this since he was supposed to be the hero.
If the hero had contact with the demons...well, it would be hard to explain.
"Slowly, we’re starting to build our influence and slowly we’re starting to need things from each other. If things remain as they are, then it’ll be harder for us to do things in the future. It seems that a network has to be created so it’ll be easier for us to transport things between us." I couldn’t help saying out loud to myself.
"Young master, the master is looking for you."
Once again, I had been interrupted in the middle of my thinking by the same butler as before.
And once again, I couldn’t help revealing a confused look.
After all, there shouldn’t be anything that was needed of me after what happened last time.
I had already explained my thoughts to them and it seemed like they accepted what I was planning to do.
So why did they suddenly call for me again like this?
But since Count Redmont was still the one that held all the power in the Redmont Family, it wasn’t as if I could actually go against this.
Though I certainly was surprised when I heard the reason that I had been summoned.
"Go to the capital and participate in the banquet that’s being held."
Normally, I wouldn’t be sent to the capital for things like this. As one of the neutral nobles, Count Redmont preferred to stay out of the capital since he didn’t want to get involved in politics.
But it wasn’t as if it was impossible for him to remain out of the capital.
"Do I have to?" I asked in a slow voice after he said this.
Count Redmont looked at me with a firm look before giving a slow nod.
Though he had a firm look, I could see that there was a trace of helplessness that was in his eyes. It was as if he didn’t have a choice at all in this matter, he could only agree to attend the banquet.
As if he could see the way that I was looking at him, Count Redmont gave a sigh before saying, "It’s the king, he’s the one that invited all the nobles to the capital this time for a banquet."
"Is it dangerous?" I asked with narrowed eyes as soon as I heard this.
I understood why he was helpless on this matter, but if it was dangerous then at least there was something that I could say on this matter.
Count Redmont slowly shook his head before saying, "It shouldn’t be dangerous." Then he added with a sigh, "If it was dangerous, do you think that I would let you go?"
A faint smile appeared on my lips when I heard this.
With another sigh, Count Redmont said, "This is related to the hero that just appeared. The king is holding a banquet to celebrate the hero’s accomplishment in obtaining the second relic."
I was surprised to hear this.
I knew that news had been sent to Bristol City on this matter, but I never thought that the king would actually come to a decision to hold a banquet like this. It almost seemed like there was something that he was planning to do in regards to the hero.
The most important thing was that the hero was one of my avatars...
Seeing that I was silent, Count Redmont then added, "You were invited in particular by someone in the capital, so you’ll have to go and see them when the time comes."
"Huh?" I was caught off guard hearing this before asking with slightly narrowed eyes, "Who is it?"
"It’s the young miss of the Denoir Family."
I couldn’t help raising a brow to show the confusion that I felt, but then I slowly started to understand.
The Denoir Family was one of the allies of the Redmont Family in the capital.
As for the young miss of the Denoir Family...well there was something special about her.
