Chapter 84: Denoir Family (1)

I couldn’t help giving a sigh as I watched the scenery pass in front of me.

It hadn’t been that long since I returned from the town near the Verdant Forest, but now I was being dragged to the capital.

I was supposed to be a shut in noble that didn’t do anything but lie around all day, only things didn’t seem to be going my way. At the same time, I was even being called to the banquet that was being held by the king, the most important person in our kingdom.

There was a part of me that complained about Gran Jurad when this thought passed through my mind.

"Don’t blame me. It isn’t as if I knew that he would do something like this."

"Tch, just worry about yourself. It’s clear that the king has something planned."

"I don’t need you to tell me that."

Sometimes, it was a bit annoying that we were all connected like this.

It really didn’t give one any privacy to complain...but it was also strange that I was basically complaining about myself.

After all, the avatars were all just me, just with different powers and statuses.

After a while, I was able to see the walls of the capital pull up.

It was already the third day of traveling, so it was only natural that we would be arriving in the capital.

Since we were nobles, we were able to use the portal network to travel between cities.

But we made sure to take our time to travel to the capital or else it certainly wouldn’t have taken three days with the portal system at our disposal. Neither my father nor I wanted to reach the capital as soon as possible.

Both of us preferred to bide our time since there was nothing to gain from reaching the capital early.

It was just that it was impossible for us to avoid going to the capital.

When we arrived, it didn’t take long for the servants of the Denoir Family to come find us.

With the way that they surrounded our carriage, it didn’t seem like they were planning on letting us go our way. Or at least they didn’t plan on letting my carriage go since they were specifically surrounding me.

Because of this...

"Go and see Viscount Denoir and his daughter."

I was abandoned by my father and mother. They sent me off with the servants of the Denoir Family while they went back to our residence in the capital.

Since I had been abandoned, there really wasn’t anything that I could do other than let the servants bring me to the Denoir Manor.

As soon as we arrived, there was a figure that ran out to greet us even before the carriage stopped.

Seeing this figure run over, the servants immediately stopped the carriage in a panic out of fear that they would hurt that figure. It was as if they viewed that person as more important than their own lives with how they acted.

I was also tossed around in the carriage because of this.

When the carriage stopped, they quickly didn’t waste any time in opening up the carriage door and pulling me out to see that figure. Though at least they had the courtesy to help brush me off before bringing me out.

When I came out, there was a trace of bitterness that appeared on my face seeing this figure run over.

With her purple hair in drills and her piercing purple eyes, it was hard to mistake this person for someone else.

It was the young miss of the Denoir Family, Debora Denoir.

And it was because I saw her that I couldn’t help feeling this bitter feeling inside of me.

"Darling, are you alright?" She said as she came over to help me stand properly before glaring at the servants.

All of them couldn’t help looking away with awkward looks on their faces, but they didn’t say anything as they handed me over to her. With the way that they handed me over to her, it was almost as if they were offering a scapegoat to a fierce beast.

Though that was an accurate description of Debora Denoir.

After all, there was something special about the way that she loved.

When she came closer, she didn’t hesitate at all to press herself up against me before taking a deep sniff. As she sniffed me, she said, "This is the scent that I missed all this time, I’m so happy that I can smell it again."

It didn’t seem like she cared that she was sniffing a person of the opposite gender in the middle of the street like this.

In fact, most people had cleared out since this was the street that was in front of the Denoir Manor. The few people that were left were servants of the Denoir Family and they all looked away as if they were already used to this.

Heavy.

That was the word to describe Debora Denoir’s love.

With the way that she acted, it could even be said that she was a yandere who would kill to get what she wanted.

This was something that I had even seen happen in the game.

I really had to complain about the designer that had created this NPC.

The game offered all kinds of experience, but did they really have to create a NPC like this?

As for why I was her target, it wasn’t that long ago that I became like this.

It was during one of the few outings that I took to help one of my avatars establish themselves.

During that outing, I had met Lady Debora Denoir and had accidentally saved her with a bit of power.

Though what I had really wanted to do was test out the power that I had obtained from the Shared Stats Skill.

I never expected that I would encounter this troublesome NPC and be wrapped up in her deep love like this...
