Her Vengeful Lycan Alpha -
Chapter 88: To Fight
Chapter 88: To Fight
Chapter Eighty-Eight – To Fight
(Silent River Pack)
It was impossible. Darren sipped from his cup while the warrior ranted. It was truly impossible to control middle aged men who think they were always right.
That was why he and his father could never get along.
"Sir Darren, I understand your feelings but you don’t seem to understand mine! This is our chance!" the leader of the surviving warriors said.
News had reached them that the Alpha, his brother and even the Princess of their Kingdom left for a Lycan Kingdom. It was the perfect time to strike.
The only Lycans left were the Beta and Delta. If they assigned at least three warriors to each of them, they’d be taken down in no time.
The other warriors of the pack would be easy to handle as they were werewolves like them. There was no better time than the present. The Alpha wasn’t on his throne.
Darren placed the cup down, thinking of how best to curb the naughty man. "I returned from exile to find my father, mother, sister and the place I grew up in defiled."
The squad leader backed away, noticing the annoyed expression on Darren’s face. "I-I shouldn’t have said you didn’t... that you didn’t understand our feelings."
Frida scoffed, gaining the attention of the two. They didn’t notice that she had been in the room with them. "Indeed, your statement was really insensitive, squad leader."
The squad leader raised a brow. He agreed to it so why did she repeat it? He nodded, readmitting his statement.
Frida marched nonchalantly to where Darren sat, then kept a leg by his side. The squad leader raised his other brow, while Darren exhaled tiredly.
"Still, no matter how insensitive you sounded, you made a point. Compared to Sir Darren here who somehow got his pack back, our dear Green Valleys is lost."
"And since when were you the patriotic one?" A frown came to Darren’s face. "You’re suggesting that these men give their lives for nothing, you know that."
Frida smirked, leaning towards Darren’s ears. "Don’t underestimate the warriors of Green Valleys in front of a squad leader, please."
Darren looked up at the man standing before him, he looked subtly offended. "My point remains—"
"So does ours!" Frida left Darren’s side, standing by the squad leader. "They want to avenge their families, if you’re not interested in avenging yours, stay out of it!"
Darren narrowed his eyes at her. What exactly was she planning by doing all these? She must already know how strong Cade was.
The surviving warriors that saw him fight said he took down ten warriors like they were nothing. He had a lot of raw power and not once did he ever shift to handle them.
Even if they managed to catch him off guard, they’d need at least six warriors to be able to give him an injury.
"You are aware that the Princess isn’t there. What would we do if the Alpha and his brother hold her captive when they return?" Darren asked.
The squad leader tried speaking but looked way. That would be really bad. The Princess was the only heir to Green Valleys Kingdom.
Frida kept her hands on the squad leader’s shoulders. "Not a problem. Before the Alpha and his brother returns, we’d intercept them and make a trade."
"A trade?" Darren gently shook his head. The Beta’s daughter must’ve lost all the nuts in her head.
"Yes." Frida insisted. "We won’t let them know what befell their people and we’d trade the captive with the princess."
"Yeah, like if you try to trade the Delta or Beta, it wouldn’t make the Lycan Alpha know something is wrong? And you forget mind link?" Darren clicked his tongue.
"I thought of that, Darren." Frida glared at him. Did he take her for a kind of fool? "We will trade the Alpha’s werewolf fiancée, she’d be unconscious. We’d act like a liberation squad trying to save a princess from them."
That could work. Darren stayed quiet. Liberation squads always challenged Lycans and protected Werewolves.
They were majorly other Lycans though, the bred ones but werewolves could be part of the squad.
Cook Jessika had also told him about the werewolf fiancée of the Alpha and what had befallen her.
It will take a while for the Delta or Beta to notice she had gone missing if Frida took her out. "I’d still prefer you all rethink your decisions. It wouldn’t be easy—"
"Nothing is easy." The squad leader interrupted, Frida smirked, agreeing. "We are doing it. It’d be a welcome present to that weak princess of ours when she returns."
It was also impossible. Darren held his cup that was now cold. It was also impossible to convince a lady to listen to reason when she’s hell-bent on something dangerous.
"Make backup plans and backup’s backup plans. These warriors are the last of Green Valleys. They should survive." was all Darren could say as a finishing argument.
Frida made a two finger salute and bounced out of the room. The squad leader followed her.
"I’d bring Jade here after looking around the place. I will also need to tell some maids a little about our plans so they’d corporate with us." She told him.
He nodded obediently. "We will be waiting for your return. Then, we’d strike! Green Valleys won’t be going down like this. Not when we are still alive!"
The Beta’s daughter rolled her eyes. Such ridiculous display of patriotism. She hurried away, without giving reply to the squad leader.
Sorren wasn’t in the palace. To Frida, he was the most dangerous Lycan amongst their enemies.
She always had a habit of studying people and getting to know their ranks and fighting experience. It wasn’t hard to differentiate a skilled fighter from a non-fighter.
Yet despite all the rumor that the Prince was a particularly gentle Lycan and never engaged in violence, he always made her alert around him.
Frida could avoid Beta Cade by being the lazy maid that had potential, that’s the only reason he didn’t kill her. But she knew it wouldn’t work on Sorren.
He’s introspective and noticed gestures and expressions.
Frida chuckled softly. "I wonder how Laurel is doing while he’d watch her like a hawk. That’s her problem anyway."
