Chapter 75: Pretty Girl

Chapter Seventy-Five – Pretty Girl

The Lycan, Slime cornered to the kitchen but noticed a cart lying by the entrance. Was it prepared for him? He frowned. Why was it lying outside then?

Laurel noticed him staring at the cart intently. Her protective instincts kicked in and she crawled closer to the cart but froze. He noticed her!

Slime looked at the pillars, sensing something out of place. Someone out of place. "Who’s there?"

The princess held her beating chest.

Should she just come out and tell him she was a maid to the Alpha Stefan but then he might not like Stefan after their fight so would he just kill her?

"I said who are you!"

Laurel sucked in air then exhaled. She remembered how easy it was for Stefan to hit him but she also remembered how he recovered suddenly.

He wouldn’t kill her, after all, here she was his guests. With that resolve, she prepared to walk out.

"Fine, I’d come look for you!" Slime declared.

Laurel gasped, holding her hair. She should have walked out immediately! "Wait—" Hair got into her mouth as a figure now stood by her side.

Slime paused, his mouth widening but no words coming out. Did the person walk out of the pillar or landed from the roof? It didn’t really matter at that point.

He couldn’t tear his eyes from them.

Laurel frowned when she finally got his hair out of her mouth. "Sorren, how did you find me?" she whispered.

Slime backed away, gulping down saliva. For goddess sake, who was the pretty girl glaring at him?

"I-I thought there was an intruder in the..." Slime’s eyes went to the cart. "Oh, was this yours?"

Sorren said nothing, glaring at the Lycan who he recognized as the fool that attacked his older brother.

Laurel peeped from the pillar to see what the Lycan was doing. He slowly pushed the cart close to Sorren then hurried inside the kitchen.

She heaved a sigh of relief, looking down. "I know, I’m sorry. I should have told you before leaving."

"Huh? What would I have done? Follow you?" Sorren’s glare vanished, then he smirked. "You were doing your job as a maid. I should commend you."

The princess had a tired expression. Even when she nearly died, he still spoke about being a maid?

She grabbed the cart and hurriedly pulled it away. "When I’m done eating, I’d leave for a stroll again."

"I really won’t follow you, Princess." Sorren said seriously.

Laurel nodded. "No need." She’d leave with the charm, there’s no way she was moving without it again. Danger could find her even if she didn’t find it.

While eating, Laurel occasionally held her cheeks in delight. Food grown in the mountains were definitely of a different taste. It was heavenly.

She turned towards Sorren’s room. She wondered if he could eat it when it was a tad it peppery. She smirked. He’d be erupting in flames if not.

She stretched herself, then gathered the plates. It was time to move. She finally took off the black robe she wore around herself.

Her dress was knee-length and floral. It was simple, and would look magical if she was running around the fields in it. She released her head and let it fall on her back.

Taking the charm, which was shaped like a small emerald stone, she wrapped it in a small cloth and dropped it inside her dress.

There was a tight waistline on the dress so it didn’t fall down. The dress was also thick so it didn’t bulge. Laurel patted herself before walking out.

This was the adventure she wanted.

As she passed by many Lycans, the only heads turning were those of young men. Laurel would blush a little when one of them smiled at her.

The dress was pretty, but could it be she in the dress that they smiled at? Her hair was one thing that stayed sort of healthy despite all she’d been through.

It always had a vibrant shine and her green eyes complimented the green feathered hair pin on her hair.

"Should I have worn this tomorrow for the meeting?" she wondered. It was also something she could easily move in, unlike the royal apparels that were thick and heavy.

"Ah-Ahh! Mhmm! Ahhhh!"

Laurel turned in disgust. Wasn’t that a grown lady crying? She looked inside the inn and it seemed a young lady was seated on a huge chair with many men around her.

The act was getting audience so Laurel stood around to watch. The crying lady was surrounded by different young men, massaging her legs and arms.

Laurel moved closer to get a better look. The face of the crying lady wasn’t in pain, but pleasure? Laurel shook her head. "Was the lady actually moaning? Because of the massages?"

"Oh my. Lady Zara is at it again." Laurel overheard a woman say. The woman laughed at the act and walked away but Laurel couldn’t find the humor.

Maybe she felt a bit envious because the lady was really pretty, with firm hips that she could never get and had a harem of men massaging her body.

The crowd began to disperse with young men feeling jealous and ladies finding it funny. Laurel stood there, something else catching her attention.

There was a display for free pasta in exchange of review. It must be a new product. Laurel smiled, proudly walking into the inn.

"Ahh! Ahhhh!" the lady kept on screaming.

Laurel scowled at her. The men who massaged her were definitely getting pleasure from her screams. It was sinful.

"The free pasta please." Laurel told the innkeeper.

"Oh, okay, honey. Wait a minute. Here first." He took out a paper and pen to write on.

Hearing a stranger call her honey made Laurel warm, she sat on the chair, trying not to hear the screams of the lady.

It finally stopped and the innkeeper returned with a small plate of dumplings. "It’s my latest product, you see. Do be honest with me."

Laurel nodded taking a bite. A burning sensation greeted her before the deliciousness. The people of this place must like pepper and ginger a lot.

A hand crossed her shoulder and she shuddered. "What—" it was the screaming lady.

Her face was red and her eyes watered slightly. "Hungry..." the lady drawled.

"What the hell—" Laurel shoved her and the lady plopped to the ground. The innkeeper laughed. "Don’t mind our Lady Zara. She’s actually the Beta’s daughter."

Beta’s daughter? Laurel stared at the lady as she slowly stood from the ground. "W-Why... Why did you push me?"
