Chapter 410: Tension

Chapter Four Hundred-Ten – Tension

Asher turned to Prince Sorren. His younger brother being allergic to magic should be an easy problem to solve.

"Can’t Thales do something about his problem?" That one was a big time witch, wasn’t he? He should be able to take the negative flow of whatever in the boy’s body.

"If we haven’t been called to your dinner party, Thales would most probably be on it as we speak."

Asher shook his head. Sorren always liked to make him at fault in everything. Did he also act this way with Sigma or just him because they mutually disliked each other?

The doctor finished quickly when he sensed that the three in the room were most likely having some sort of rivalry. He could sense the dislike coming from the beautiful Lycan Prince and his own King feeling the same. But then his own patient was glaring at the King as he argued with his supposed caretaker. The doctor bowed and told the King. "I’d bring the results in the next three days."

"In other words, Sigma would be here for the next three days." Asher patted the boy. "It’s not my doing."

Sorren rolled his eyes and left the door. Since the King knew about the visitors then all he should focus on was leaving with his Sigma. "Let’s go, Sigma. In case anything happened, you shouldn’t be around it."

Asher agreed and shifted for the boy to move. Sigma left the bed, bowed to the King and hurried out with Sorren.

Asher exhaled and connected with Sam who had informed him of the guests. "Are they close yet? I think I should come out to meet them instead of them coming here."

Sam replied. "Nero had told Nene and I absolutely that. He said Prince Sorren suggested that you meet them outside the kingdom. The forest would suffice "

"The forest would suffice." Asher repeated.

Laurel stared at the beautiful muscular lady, that figure had become the pinnacle of her dreams. She looked around her at the dress fitting her body.

Thales face slammed, watching her.

Laurel chuckled, feeling embarrassed for being too expressive. "Don’t mind. You said you are a traveler from Lunaria? It’s a bit dangerous to be here, you know." She said to the lady and the man besides her.

The lady forced a smile to the young girl. "It’s fine. We can handle ourselves. I’d just like to know the way to the King’s palace. Could you please point where?"

That request made Laurel frown. She just met these people now after they paused to ask her for directions and she noticed Thales had instinctively shielded her when they got close before he went back.

Since she’d been walking with Thales and getting spoke to by random men that surprisingly saw her as attractive, not once had Thales tried to defend her.

He only laughed at how awkward she felt.

If he tried to protect her now then it meant these people may have something to mark them as a threat for. Going to the King’s palace made it more suspicious.

"I am Princess Laurel of Green Valleys. Currently a guest at King Asher’s place. Tell me what you want and I’d think of letting you see the King." She said seriously.

The lady’s smile fell. She looked her over and her eyes darkened on her green eyes. "So you are the one Sir Zeno spoke about? A bit too lanky, right, brother?*

The man besides the girl shrugged.

Laurel clicked her tongue. If they spoke about Zeno then they must really be dangerous people related to Zeno’s group of bred lycans that did dangerous things to lycans.

"I don’t care what you think about me and I still think you have a really good body, but if you’re here to cause trouble at High Moon, I’d call attention to you now."

Thales didn’t know if she should be threatening them so strongly but the Princess had always been like that. He didn’t know these bred lycans much but he knew they weren’t here to fight. There weren’t with any weapons and would definitely hesitate to show their magic.

The brother stepped forward with an amicable expression. "Now, now, little princess, let’s calm down a bit. We aren’t here to look for trouble."

Laurel raised her head. His sister didn’t have the ’I am here for peace’ expression on her face. She could see her scanning every warrior that passed.

The brother noticed and dragged the sister’s attention forward. "Now, do you believe us? We are actually representatives from Lunaria."

Representatives? Thales sighed. Lunaria had to send two of their strongest? It’d make the situation suspicious but he could see why.

He stepped forward. "I am Thales. I’d help you get there."

The two pointed at him in unison. Wasn’t Thales a Grand Witch that helped Lunaria and Damancas gather information. Before they could speak, Thales held their arms and teleported them to the palace entrance.

King Asher was stepping out at that point. He hummed seeing his visitors already at his palace. He ran his hand through his head and exhaled. "Come on in then."

Thales noticed the two bred lycans expression changed. He warned. "Don’t be rash. The King is actually in a very good mood today." He teleported back to Laurel.

Asher narrowed his eyes at the two. They didn’t come with weapons and while they could brag of their magic, he knew they’d not readily use it.

So they really wanted to just talk with him? He decided to lower his alertness a bit of it’d affect his communication with them.

He moved aside for them to come. "Welcome to High Moon Kingdom—"

"We’ve already had something as unnecessary as that at the entrance." Lorena interrupted with a dismissive wave. "Can we come in , your Highness?"

Asher couldn’t help but he alert after she asked to enter the Kingdom. Did she say that purposely so that he’d be alert? He smiled and moved aside for her to go in.

No matter what he had stopped annoying werewolves so if they come to annoy him, he’d make them pay dearly and possibly take back his words about werewolves.

Loretta and her brother walked in and when they entered the palace, Nero immediately searched them. Loretta was stunned to notice her body being searched and she stopped herself from a wrong reaction.

She watched the dark haired man walk back. How could he sneak up on her like that? Was he an assassin. She smirked, finding it interesting to see an assassin there.

Before she could give in to desires, her brother pulled her back. He glared at her and she stayed calm. Their only purpose of coming was to be sure King Asher actually a change of heart as they heard.

He turned to the King who spaced out, then nodded. Asher passed them and gestured for them to follow him.

They followed the King and got into a well decorated room with an adorable maid at the end. Lorena winked at her and the maid bowed respectfully.

Asher sat at the end of the table and left one leg at the table, he raised the letter he had received concerning their visit. "Can I know how you guys plan to do this?"

Lorena narrowed her eyes at the letter. She had no idea what it was and he sat so far away. "I have no idea what Lunaria wrote there but we’re here to decide for ourselves if High Moon Kingdom isn’t killing wolves."

That was the same thing written in the letter? Asher threw it behind him and it entered a fireplace and burned away. "I see. And I’m asking how you plan to decide for yourself that High Moon Kingdom is clean?*

The two looked at each other.

Asher leaned forward with a stern expression. "For one, High Moon Kingdom wasn’t killing wolves. I was. Lunaria really want to have issues with Lunaria so raise lies?"

Even if he knew Thales was the one who sold information to them, there’s no way he’d tell them that killing werewolves was a practice at High Moon.

Lady Zara housed werewolves and they stayed safe, Asher even made sure not to bother her servants there so she’d not shown his place.

He also knew that’s why she really dislikes his practices. All on all, there’s no way they got information that High Moon engaged in killing werewolves.

They only made the situation more serious to start a war. "You are representatives, but you’re a bit too quiet."

Lorena wanted to speak but her brother spoke first. "To answer your first question, we plan to stay longer to study and get our answer."

Asher frowned. "No. Three days is the most you stay."

That was enough for them to decide anything and return without his people noticing when they came in the first place. If the people knew that Lunaria’s representatives came, It’d cause unrest.
