Chapter 406: Connection I

Chapter Four Hundred-Six – Connection I

Sorren knew that if he felt ill feelings towards Darren, it’d definitely affect the relationship. He shared some perfume High Mountains made with the strange girl and Sam was surprised that she was given them. She sprayed them on herself and frowned. These things didn’t suit her.

"Prince Sorren." Sigma returned to the room and closed the door quickly. "Didn’t you say I’m related to the King?"

He turned and paused when he saw the visitor, he pointed at the door. "I’m here so you can return now."

Sorren sighed. "She isn’t here to guard me. Or was there why you were here, Sam?" he turned to the girl for some reasons, the girl was staring at Sigma. Sorren nodded proudly, his Sigma was a good looking boy. He tapped her and Sam turned to him. "You van6havw the gift, the girls at my pack really like it so I hope you do as well."

She took it and left where she leaned on and went towards the door. Sigma rushed to Prince Sorren and repeated his question. Sam turned to him. "Related to the King?"

Sorren tilted his head slightly. Why was her voice softer than when she spoke to him? He smirked. It wasn’t all the time young females showed interest on Sigma because he had a really muscular look for a boy of then sixteen.

"I thought I told you to leave." Sigma frowned at the girl. Sam turned to him and folded her arms. If it was related to the King then she had to hear all about it.

Also, for some reasons, she didn’t really want to leave. Why was she even curious about this rude young Lycan?

Sorren noticed her facial expression changed, as of she realized something. His expression changed. It shouldn’t be... it shouldn’t be in anyway that she senses his Sigma might be her mate. If sigma had a mate here and a brother, then he’d definitely not return home with him.

"What do you want them? He gave you something didn’t he? Do you want more money?" Sigma faces hee. "you dong barge into someone’s room like you own the place or I’d..."

Sorren held his hand that had already began to ball. Did he not sense that she was connected to him too? Or this was another effect of his wrong perception of things.

"Sam, its nothing really. Don’t be offended." He knew that she was an official of the King so it wouldn’t help them if they made enemies with her.

Same scoffed though disappointed that the young Lycan that she felt might be connected to her was awfully rude. He didn’t feel anything so it must be in her head. She clicked her tongue and walked away.

Sigma watched the door she left for a while beforehand turning to Sorren. The hesitation made Sorren believe that maybe he had felt something too.

"Ah, I’m doomed." He fell on the bed dramatically. Two important parts of Sigma would be in this pack? But Sigma had a duty to Black Claws so wouldn’t his mate just follow him to Black Claws? At least, she didn’t seem very hard to talk to so he could get along with her.

Sigma looks worried and fell on the bed with him. "Doomed? Was it a joke though? I just remembered that you said I was related to the King? He’s awfully clingy so I hope not."

Sorren smiled. Connections, especially when made by blood was hard to break. Asher sensed the connection too and there’s nothing he could do to break it.

"Would you feel bad if I said that as a matter of fact, you are related to the clingy King?" Sorren folded his arms studying Sigma’s reaction.

A part of him would stand up and leave if Sigma was very much against the thought of being with the King. At the end of the day, Sigma’s decision would be his last point. He saw the scowl growing on the boy’s face and gladly anticipated a refusal.

you mean the King is really related to me? How is that even possible? Is he really related to you and Baxter too?" Sigma asked, trying to piece the puzzles together.

Sorren smiled softly. To the boy, his only family members must be him and Baxter and any new one would have go be connected to already existing family members.

But sadly, this time was different and Sorren was glad that Asher wasn’t related to him as well.

"I had told you about your original mother and how you were brought here during the war, did you forget?"

Sorren said slowly. He could tell the boy already forgot or he wouldn’t ask while looking so lost.

Sigma stared at the distance, then he blinked. "So I am?" The idea of being related to a King flashed his mind but that King as King Asher who didn’t have a very good record in his books, and the King didn’t like Prince Sorren, and that was a big deal to him.

"Do I have to do anything as his relative? Am I supposed to protect him from something?" He turned to the Prince.

Prince Sorren shook his head. Sigma might relate protectiveness to love but King Asher needed the latter and not the former, Sigma might also not be able show it as much as he should.

"Don’t think too much on it." He rubbed the boy’s head and left the bed. "The most important thing is to be close when he’d need someone, that’s all."

Sorren decided to end it there.

By evening, the Princess got invited for the dinner party which was actually a dinner with celebration elements.

The King really had a way to structure his words and made Laurel believed that it was another buffet with large and variety of delicacies like the Lycan Meeting.

A displeased expression stayed on her face when the cooks only served the required number of plates as the number of guests. She stared at the door hoping for a miracle but a tall maid bowed and closed the door.

She clicked her tongue and fell on her seat. Her officials, Zeldris and Thales tried to hold back their laughter as they could tell why she acted that way.

King Asher looked at the food and then at his maidens. What did they do to her now? He glanced at Sigma who had already began eating without any formality being said and a smile came to his face.

"Green Valleys must have better foods than the ones grown on our mountains. Kindly bear with us, Princess Laurel." Asher faked a smile.

Hearing him sound all righteous and wronged made Laurel cringe. He might’ve stopped killing wolves but he was no saint. Proof was his deceiving her with promise of a feast. She huffed. "Then you have to do better your Highness. At least now that you have a change of hobby."

Asher hummed. She was still asleep interesting as he remembered, but he had more things to do now. As she said, losing a hobby meant getting a new one and he was working on it. He looked at the door and sighed.

That Zara really disobeyed his order to attend the dinner party, but he had her where he wanted her. She did trade something for his decision anyway.

Laurel cleared her throat and Asher looked away from the door to her with a raised brow. "King Asher..." she glanced at Sorren and he gave a subtle nod. "I heard something. Recounts of the war that had completely ended and that you celebrated its victory."

Asher couldn’t place what she was getting at, but he listened. "That war wasn’t a victory but go on ahead."

Laurel could tell what he meant and she had expected that reply. "Oh why?" she dared asked. She shouldn’t make him recount the sad part of the war but that was the only way to make an emotional connection to finding Sigma.

Sorren looked at Sigma and the big was lost on his food and had once again forgotten his connection with the King.

King Asher dropped his spoon and faced Laurel. Did she really want him to tell her everything from top to bottom? "Just eat your food. You might relate to what happened to me because your mother was killed but I felt I lost something more back then."

Laurel’s eyes brightened when he made a direction reference to the possibility of losing a brother. She had to commend him for even realizing his mother was pregnant when she probably didn’t know and the King didn’t as well. "Can I know what that it?"

At that point Asher shifted a cup of water to Sigma who began to choke. Sorren was just about to do but paused when Asher helped first.

But Sigma didn’t notice and took the one closest to him and Sorren and Zeldris chuckled. Asher rolled his eyes subtly.
