Chapter 401: Revealed

Chapter Four Hundred-One – Revealed

"What did you just say to me?"

Laurel’s hands clenched and she faced Cara, taking slow steps towards her. "Do you mind repeating that?"

Cara took steps back but her expression remained.

She had been waiting outside the pack for the Alpha to arrive and had clearly saw the Princess and the Alpha come back together holding hands.

The Princess might’ve been minding her business with her children when the Alpha invited her out, but it didn’t change the fact that she accepted.

She had known that the Alpha had been preparing to go to another pack but she didn’t understand why he didn’t just take her with him. She had to accept that it was because he’d rather take the Princess along.

It honestly didn’t bother her much since the Alpha had proven many times that he didn’t like her, still it was heartbreaking that she lost to another woman and werewolfess, two times in a row.

She hit her back on a tree and tears formed in her eyes before she sprinted away. Laurel glared at her at her retreating figure even if fear pounded in her heart.

Now that she had been discovered by Lady Cara, what next? Wouldn’t she just tell everyone at that point? Would her pack accept whatever she and Stefan could be?

She leaned down on the ground as the thoughts went through her head. Was she being inconsiderate of her people’s sufferings by trying to accept the man that killed their loved ones?

What would Stefan become after everything? The Alpha of her pack too? Didn’t that mean he ended up taking over everything? Why did she fight for her pack then?

"Laurel!" Elma tried reaching her but she was too into her own head to listen. "Laurel, it will be okay. Please stop overthinking this."

Laurel locked her at the back of her head and slowly left the ground. She couldn’t also forget what Stefan did to her at the prison.

If he really wanted to wipe all those away, she’d have to bring her own challenges for him. It wasn’t a matter of overthinking but of realistically thinking about it. She couldn’t be selfish.

She strutted to High Mountains to finish whatever business she had with Sorren. He called for her early that morning so it should be something urgent.

She wondered if he got a letter from King Asher inviting him for the dinner party, though, she’d highly doubt it since the King disliked him.

She probably only got one because his recent decision had a lot to do with her and her kind. She reached the place and forced a smile to the guards who bowed to her.

At least, she was sure these ones only fid it because they were obligated to do so and not because they were instructed by their superior to give her special treatment.

On reaching Sorren’s quarters, she tried to sense if he was around. Since she broke her Delta rank, her body had been more attentive to her surroundings.

That was what highly helped her in finding her children at Kleon so she really liked the skill and wanted to improve on it. She sensed Sorren inside and in his room.

She smiled. She had really improved from the last time she met him. Mentally and physically. She knocked on the door and it opened slightly showing it was left half opened. She didn’t think Sorren would be that careless about his house and bugs getting in.

She entered the house and heard snoring. She didn’t also think Sorren would be snoring loudly, even in his house. The snoring came from the other room while she had sensed Sorren at the room to the left.

She looked at that direction and the half opened door helped her see Sigma laid on a bed, wearing nothing but shorts. She shook her head.

With Sorren, that mighty Delta showed his age.

"That was sneaky."

She turned to Sorren. He was folding arms and facing her with a slight frown. Laurel raised a brow. How was she being sneaky?

He called her to see him, didn’t he? "You brought a maid to my place earlier today and said you wanted to say something so I dismissed her and came myself."

Sorren hummed. "Dismissed her? She said you threw her out, cursed at me, and said you wouldn’t be coming."

Laurel stared at him with lidded eyes. So he’d believe she’d do all that? There’s no reason why she should and she wouldn’t have all that energy during the early morning to be that dramatic.

"I guess that’s what she did when I dismissed her. Anyway, what did you want to talk about?" Laurel sat herself down.

Sorren studied her for a while. She might have done it unconsciously but he could faintly feel her energy and that was why he called her visit sneaky.

She had truly broken the Delta rank and had a high potential to be Beta rank in close future. A Delta Rank that could compete with a lycan’s Delta rank as well.

It was impressive that it took her long to break it yet when she did, it was an impressive part of it she unlocked.

He sat down as well, staying opposite her. "Thales had already told me about King Asher’s change of heart with werewolves."

Laurel nodded. That was what she wanted to tell him. If that was already on the table, she wondered what else he wanted to say concerning that.

"I’d like you to visit High Moon Kingdom with me." Sorren asked.

Laurel tilted her head. She already had plans to attend but being asked specially made her suspicious.

Sorren wouldn’t ask for a favor directly so she either had something to gain or he’d deceive her into thinking she had something to gain.

"I’m listening." She said monotonously.

Sorren cleared his throat before adding. "It’s basically to thank the King for his decision and something else... something involving Sigma."

Laurel looked at Sigma’s direction and nodded. Sorren needed her help for something related to his son. She’d have to milk him well since he’d be desperate for it.

Yet, when she heard the full information about Sigma’s connection to King Asher and the negative flow of magic in his body, she was speechless.

Sorren appreciated her disbelief because he had yet to fully accept it nut it seemed to make sense. The final decision lied with King Asher.

If he accept that Sigma was truly his sibling, then that’d seal it. He should be able to know. Sorren felt like he already knew since he had gotten attached to Sigma for no reason during the last time he had visited.

"So I am to tell him this information and get his gratitude?" Laurel summarized.

At the end of the day, she was really being rewarded for the favor and couldn’t really milk it out of him.

She rubbed her neck and spoke about the letter the King sent to her, she was very sure that Sorren didn’t have one.

"Ah, yes, he gave Sigma one but not me." Sorren said with a dismissive tone. "I could guess he gave you one but I didn’t think you’d plan to attend hence why I tried to specially ask you."

Laurel rasped. So he already knew everything? "Well, I wanted to thank him for his decision whether I have a reward for him or not. Now that I have a reward for him, I’m more interested in attending."

Thales might feel sorry that he wasn’t the one who told the King but their relationship wasn’t the best and the information could be seen as spiteful by that King.

"What did Sigma think when he heard this... or you haven’t told him yet?" Laurel added the last part when Sorren had looked away when she said the first part.

Was there a reason to hide such a thing from him since he would be joining them and would get the information about his sibling?

"He would feel bad if you don’t."

Sorren sighed. "I’d tell him eventually."

Laurel shook her head and left the chair. It might be hard for him because Sigma might get kidnapped by that King.

Sorren would also lose his favorite person but Sigma would have more people in his life and that’s a plus for him. Sorren should be happy to tell him that.

When she left the place, she saw the girl that had visited her place kneeling outside. She had sensed her out there when Sorren seemed to have spaced out.

He must’ve punished her for lying. The girl glared daggers into her body but Laurel huffed to show she was unaffected, before walking away.

These girls who acted like they wanted to protect Sorren were the most delusional. He could kill them with a thought or if he was bored so why bother?

The ones who acted like they would be his mate were the funniest. She thought of Bebe as she remembered that.

She returned to Green Valleys to see if they’d be more notices waiting for her and also to prepare for her travel to High Moon Kingdom.
