Chapter 399: The Truth Of Sigma II

Chapter Three Hundred-Ninety-Nine – The Truth Of Sigma II

That was the calmest reaction Thales had thought the Prince would give, he released his breath. He had braced himself to avoid whatever he’d throw at him.

He knew how much Prince Sorren hated that King so knowing that his favorite person was a brother to that King would kill him.

"King Asher once confirmed that his mother had actually been pregnant during that raid. That’s one of the reasons why he couldn’t forgive Lunaria for killing his mother and potential sibling." Thales added.

He had realized the connection and since King Asher was willing to let go of his hate, Thales wanted to reward him with his long lost sibling. It’d take a while for him to accept Sigma, or he might accept him really quickly.

Sorren’s feet patted the ground impatiently. "This is a prank, right, Thales? You are really joking with me? Asher and Sigma?"

The Grand Witch shook his head. This might even be one of his greatest discoveries since finding out the Princess’s connection to those mighty wolves.

"So what will you do about this? I’m sure you know why I’m saying it. I’d like to tell King Asher soon enough and Sigma too." Thales searched Sorren’s expression.

The Prince finally exhaled and so did Thales.

"I’d go with Princess Laurel, Sigma, and Zeldris to High Moon in few days time. Laurel will pay him back for his decision and bring up Sigma’s connection, not you."

Thales frowned. "Why not?"

Sorren looked away. Maybe because he wanted him to suffer watching someone else brag about a discovery he found out about.

"Well, the King has to feel grateful to Laurel. She represents the werewolves he’s trying to forgive. He hates you and if you say it, it’d look like you knew a long time ago but didn’t tell him until he made this decision."

Thales could see his point but he didn’t like not being the one to say it. He brushed it aside and concentrated on how happy the King would be.

He shouldn’t care about the King’s happiness but for a teenager like him to have suffered such hate and loneliness for long, it was nice that he had a younger brother to dote on.

"You know that he might want Sigma to stay with him for while, right?" Thales asked.

Sorren had already prepared for that. He had other things to do at High Moon Kingdom when he’s in a holiday and he’d use the King’s authority and gather as many books about gardening and flowers as he could.

It quite depressed him but he sucked it in. Also, his Sigma would be happy to find his brother, though he’d probably be disgusted first.

"Thank you for telling me, still. I guess you also know how to remove the negative flow of magic from Sigma." Sorren said, having accepted everything.

Thales looked away.

Sorren’s face slowly contorted to a frown. That’d mean a ’no’? He forced a smile. So the young man didn’t know how save Sigma from what could kill him but had the guts to tell him about a possible sibling of Sigma?!

His hand reached for the closest thing he could find and threw it on Thales. Thales had been waiting for it all the while but when it finally came, he wasn’t ready and it slammed him head on.

Laurel and Stefan reached the forest close to Green Valleys and disconnected hands. A sense of loneliness creeped into them and they faced themselves.

"Um...thanks for this outing. I’d go in then." Laurel said.

That was fast, Stefan thought. He remembered the necklace he bought but withheld from giving it to her. She might sneak it into something and never wear it. He’d hand it to her when he was sure she’d use it, even if it’s during that one moment.

"Sure. If I know any other fun place, I’d let you know." He said, with a forced cheerful tone. He was doing his best to hide how much he didn’t want this to be over yet.

It was amazing being in her presence but she had so many rules around her that he didn’t want to break and somehow, it made him not to get close enough.

The twins were ahead so Laurel’s attention was divided, she didn’t fully hear what Stefan before agreeing. "Yeah, I’d invite you too," and hurried towards them.

Stefan paused. Invite him too? Invite him where? Did she have a place she wanted them to go to?

It’d be better when its her idea and he would be her guest. She’d naturally pay more attention to him.

"Not bad. You managed to get a date back." Kai said.

Stefan nodded. Maybe next time, he’d try to cross her boundaries a little, just a little. She might turn out not to be so caging as he had thought.

He sat below a tree and looked up at the skies, thankful to the Moon Goddess for a successful evening out with his mate.

Laurel returned to the pack and ignored the looks of the Black Claws Warriors like always. She had a quick shower when she reached her room and prepared for bed.

There was a knock on her door afterwards.

She expected his presence. After all, she had spend hours out of the pack without him so it’d eat him up.

She recited the excuse she planned in her head but the knock came again, breaking her concentration. She rasped and went to the door.

Marino opened it first. "Zeldis?"

Zeldris looked down at the boy and his frowning face released. He bent down besides him. "I’d like to talk to the Princess. Can I have a moment with her?"

The little boy shook his head. "Princess is sleepy."

Zeldris frowned a bit. What did she do that’d make her sleepy? He had assumed she just went on a casual stroll like Bebe had described but she stayed for hours and her scent wasn’t anywhere he searched.

He even went to Silent River but was careful not to make it an alarm. The guard had caught on though and mocked him for not knowing where the Princess was.

How was he to know such a thing if she didn’t tell him? He didn’t live in her head.
