Chapter Three Hundred-Ninety-Eight – The Truth Of Sigma I

Laurel stared at Marino with a hint of betrayal in her eyes. She wondered if he only wanted to walk so he’d hold Stefan too. Her son was getting too attached to that Alpha, wasn’t he?

While she complained in her head, Mira wriggled from Stefan’s hold and he dropped her too. She rushed in between and held Marino’s hand and Laurel’s hand.

Marino frowned when she saw his sister taken Princess further away from Alpha. He pulled Mira’s hand and let go of the two adults. "Let’s walk on our own, Mimi. We are big enough." he said with a strict tone.

Laurel and Stefan paused.

"Can you walk by yourself too?" Laurel smirked.

Stefan smiled and held her hand. "Walk me then."

Marino nodded when he saw their hands together. Plan? A success.

Thales moved around Sorren’s quarters waiting for him to be done with whatever happened at his garden.

He smelled a foul stench coming from the backyard, smell of dead bodies. What was dead bodies doing at a Prince’s garden?

He tried going there but on second thought, guessed that he was better off not knowing what was happening.

He saw the Prince return to the building and he sat on a seat. "I’ve been waiting for you..." he trailed off when he saw the amount of nose masks on Sorren’s face.

It really smelled so bad, didn’t it? Then why did he bury bodies there! Who were those bodies even! Once again Thales shook the thought off his head. He didn’t want to get involved in something he could’ve avoided.

"I am here to speak to you about Sigma. How has he been doing since his last attack by a negative flow of magic?" Thales started, adjusting himself on his seat because he’d soon be saying things that might make Sorren attempt to throw him out of the couch.

Sorren shrugged. "He hasn’t been in contact with any other magic so he’s been fine. Is there something else to be wary about?" he slowly removed his nose masks.

Thales nodded. Sigma was lucky that only being in contact with magic could hurt him and not just being around a Witch, or that’d have been harder to live with.

The Grand Witch went ahead to tell Prince Sorren about King Asher’s recent transformation and Sorren thought it was a joke first before Thales involved Lady Zara.

Zara was able to convince the King to be in his best behavior? They seemed to be something included but Thales didn’t give out that information for some reasons. "That’s beautiful news. Laurel knows about it, doesn’t she?" Sorren asked, with a slight smile on his lips.

Thales nodded.

Sorren crossed his arms across his chests. "So, why does this link to Sigma? He was the first thing you spoke about when you came."

Thales adjusted himself on his seat. He had gotten a lot of information about this before he came up with his so it wouldn’t sound like an allegations.

"At Lunaria, they are some people who were infused with negative flow of magic so that if they ever fight with a witch, they’d die really quickly." Thales started.

Sorren narrowed his eyes at him. Was he saying his Sigma was one of such? The boy had never been to Lunaria before. "Your point is?" He sounded impatient.

"My point is... was Sigma was born at Black Claws, yes or no? You gave me a vague response last time." Thales tilted his head slightly, studying the Prince.

Sorren exhaled. So that’s where this was coming from? Only he and Baxter knew this and it wasn’t important enough anyway to let many other knows.

"Well, yes. Sigma wasn’t born at Black Claws. He’s from Lunaria." Sorren replied. "When my father had gone to help the Kingdom of High Moon during the war fifteen years ago, the Lead Warrior had saved Sigma as a baby."

Thales felt elated on hearing that his guesses had been right all along. It led to the biggest issue yet. "Well, he had that negative flow of magic in him since then."

Sorren found that part hard to believe. "As a little baby?" Would he have survived that?

Thales nodded. "It grew with his strength and it was meant to kill him actually." he paused when he saw Sorren become alarmed.

"Someone out it on him for a specific reason?" Sorren asked. Why did such a peculiar problem happen to only him? They’ve never been such before? "Wasn’t he just another bred child or something?"

Sorren didn’t know if he should be asking Thales this. He’d like to know how Thales could even figure out all the connections from Sigma to Lunaria.

Those events happened while Sigma had been a baby, and Thales would still be young. Being a Grand Witch shouldn’t mean impotence.

The Grand Witch shook his head. "The bred children would be half Lycan and half werewolf, or half Lycan and other part hybrid. Sigma is a full Lycan, and a fast evolving one. Doesn’t it surprise you how he could climb to Delta rank at a young age?"

Sorren said nothing. Wasn’t that it because of his training or there was something else involved? His eyes widened slowly. What was this Thales trying to say?

Thales left his seat, "I’d say it clearly then." He made a distance between himself and Prince Sorren so that he wouldn’t be the next dead body.

Sorren wondered why he was making a distance but brushed it aside while worrying about whether he’d like what Thales would say next.

"During the war," Thales started. "It was said that the Queen of High Moon was pregnant. By my analysis, Sigma is that child. He was placed that negative flow of magic to die when it overpowered him but thankfully, you had raised him to be strong so he’s still alive."

Thales held his breath, waiting for the Prince’s reaction. While Sorren’s breathing quickened. He forced a smile to Thales. Was this another joke?

His sigma was literally the brother to that King Asher? "Are you crazy?" it left his lips.
