Chapter 394: Messed Up

Chapter Three Hundred-Ninety-Four – Messed Up

The inner keeper sighed and rubbed her temples. Not again. "Room 19 already belongs to a customer, though he’d be signing out by now. If you want the room, wait till he signs out."

Stefan paused and slowly nodded. So Koi took them to his room? Why not tell him on time so he’d register a room by himself?

He sighed and rushed upstairs again. He froze when he only saw Laurel on the bed. Koi and the twins were gone.

A sharp pain panged in his chest as he came close to Laurel and saw the window close to her was open. Also it seemed her gown have been moved.

His veins popped up on his head as he realized. That Koo was a sneaky little kidnapper. He must’ve searched Laurel for any money on her since he knew she was a princess.

On closer look, the jewelry Laurel had on her was gone. "Ah, I messed up." He said calmly.

He’d have to kill a citizen of Kleon on his first day. Not a very great way to start but they left him no choice. Kai came to the surface instantly to calm him down.

"Report to the leader instead. Kleon seems to be a Lead Warrior so the leader would definitely know him." Kai advised.

He closed the window tightly and locked the door with the key he saw. He got down and asked the innkeeper if he could buy the room and since he was with the keys, she let him.

"Do you know anything about Koi, the official fisherman of Kleon pack?" Stefan could guess that part was a lie

The girl rolled her eyes. "Did he steal from you? I can tell you really want to rip him apart." She sighed. "He always brings trouble for us. He’s a former lead warrior that got cast away because of his greed. I don’t know where you can find him."

Stefan exhaled and paid for the room and a meal for Laurel when she’d wake up. "And please, if she asks about her kids, tell her that I took them on a short walk."

The innkeeper frowned at the fact that she had to lie but slowly understood what was going on. "That koi took the kids? Well, ask around for Madan Shoji. He’s probably going to sell them to her."

Stefan nodded and rushed out.

The inner keeper shook her head. That Koi really made foreigners hate Kleon as he always stood at that lake waiting for unsuspecting victims.

Meanwhile, Laurel slowly rose up from the bed with a panging headache. She turned around and didn’t see Stefan or the twins and sighed.

"Did he take them for a walk? Why didn’t he wait till I woke up?" she rubbed her temples. What if he wanted to surprise her with a meal on bed?

She slapped her face and gone were those thoughts. "I should be grounded in reality, please." She left the bed and suddenly felt weird.

She touched her body and felt like her privacy had been crossed. Her hands went to her neck and her lips parted. Her jewelry, the ones Damancas had given to her where all gone.

She went to the mirror and there was no jewelry on her at all, and her eyes were slightly sunken. She rushed to the door but it was locked.

Panic flashed in her eyes. What was Stefan doing? Did he take her jewelry? Why the hell would he even do that? But he was with the twins safe and sound, right?

"What is happening!" she yelled at no one in particular. She slowly took steps back, holding her head and falling on the bed.

An idea came to her mind and she raised her head up. "Memory recollection. I’d need that to know what the hell happened."

She stayed calm and tried to ignore the murderous agitated emotions she felt and focused on getting the memory of the things that happened during the last thirty minutes.

She felt when she fell asleep, which was odd because she wasn’t tired. She had slept before coming here. Then she sensed Stefan’s arrival.

Her face heated up when she felt his hand tracing her face. That guy was low-key a pervert, wasn’t he? What was he doing to the face of a sleeping girl?

Then she heard a man’s voice and everything felt blurry from there. His name was Koi and he carried her twins.

Laurel couldn’t believe Stefan would dare carry her without her permission but she blamed herself for falling under the effects of the lake.

She was brought to a place and laid down and next, she heard Stefan go down stairs. She was all alone with that Koi, and then her body was being searched.

She winced as this replayed in her head. He snatched what he could find, including snacks and Marino’s stick toys, then went for her jewelry. She heard Marino whimper but then the man took him and said. "Don’t worry, I’d give you to a better mother. Don’t worry, don’t worry." and the window was opened.

Laurel stayed calm, her fists slowly clenched. Stefan had returned after that and realized what happened. She didn’t hear what he muttered before he left again.

Laurel snapped from her memories recollection and left the bed. She went to the window and forced it open.

She shifted to wolf immediately and jumped out. "Elma, let’s track that little bastard!"

Elma let out a vengeful howl throughout the pack and all those who saw the blue hued eight feet wolf running around was scared and moved back.

The innkeeper rushed to the room and quickly opened it, she didn’t see the girl and the window was broken.

She sighed and calmly wrote the cost of the window on her tab, before returning downstairs.

Elma sped through the streets of Kleon trying to search for the scents of her children.

There were low growls coming from her that signaled everyone in her part to stay away from the angry wolfess.

More people came around her because of the color of her fur and because of a stranger running rampage within Kleon was quite a rare sight.

Sooner or later three black wolves were chasing after her and Elma caught a scent of Marino at that point.

The guards were almost closing in when she increased her speed and jumped to the roof. She disappeared from there.

The black wolves grunted, feeling vexed and returned back to their Lead Warrior.
