Chapter 393: Sleepy Effects

Chapter Three Hundred-Ninety-Three – Sleepy Effects

"Marino, we could even take a nap and they’re not here yet." Laurel laid on her stomach and kept her legs up. Marino copied the same position.

"Should we sleep?" Marino already laid down and closed his eyes. Laurel did the same without giving a reply. She might just spend the day here and Stefan would go get the food instead.

What if she even goes there and meets people that she didn’t want to meet? Or people who recognize her as the Princess of Green Valleys with a Lycan Alpha?

Also, what do the pack of Kleon think of Lycans? Did Baxter investigate that before telling his Alpha it had good restaurants?

They were some places that didn’t like hosting Lycans and if Baxter had been lucky not to meet trouble the first time, they may not be so lucky.

She looked at Marino who looked like he was already asleep. She couldn’t get into a scuffle with people she didn’t know while being with the twins.

She closed her eyes, thinking of her next course of actions. Returning would be rude to Stefan who invited her, so there had to be compromise they could make instead of going to Kleon yet.

Stefan reached the lake and paused.

It was really beautiful with shimmering waters and healthy green plants growing around it. The best part would be his favorite persons sleeping besides it.

He realized and rolled down. "Where they sleeping?" he touched Laurel’s forehead and she was asleep.

He didn’t know if he should panic or find it adorable. Marino was already fast asleep curled up besides her.

Mira got down from Stefan and jerked the Princess. "Wake up, wake up. It’s not sleepy time."

Stefan pulled her away from Laurel. He wanted to enjoy the view of his mate asleep besides him since he might never get the chance to be with her again like this.

Yet at the back of his mind, her sudden sleepiness worried him. She had been her agile wolf few minutes ago so why did she feel sleepy?

He laid down besides her and stared at her face. He slightly brushed the hair over her face.

Either way, he couldn’t bring himself to wake up her when she looked.... peaceful? She looked like she was struggling.

He became alert when Mira suddenly fell on him with droopy eyes. Was the girl feeling sleepy too? That was odd. He didn’t feel sleepy but then again, he was the begotten son of insomnia.

He left the ground and moved in front from the three in a protective position. It wouldn’t be something they passed like the mist or the reaction would’ve happened to Mira while they were walking slowly.

Whatever caused this had to be here they came to. His eyes moved about till he looked at the lake. It was just a normal lake, wasn’t it?

Also, what would make the lake release pheromones that’d cause sleep or was it calming effect? "What should I do now? Carry them to Kleon?"

That seemed like the right idea. How he’d carry them was still vague to him and Laurel might kill him if she found out that he carried her but he had little ideas what else to do.

Just then, he saw a young man moving towards the lake with a nose mask. Could it be because of the lake’s sleepy effect?

He waved at the young man and the man rushed to them, like he expected to be called. He had an alarmed expression.

"D-Did your wife and children collapse here?" the young man looked at the people by the lakeside.

Stefan hesitated when Laurel was called his wife, he cleared his throat and rubbed his ears. "Yes, it seems the lake has sleepy effects—"

"Not just sleepy effects. Creates dreams and depending on the person, the things they see isn’t so good. You should take them out immediately." The man reached to carry Laurel but Stefan held his arm firmly.

He released and apologized. "If you want to help me, please carry the children. The Princess might not appreciate being carried by a stranger."

The young man turned to the lady. She was a princess? He made no reaction and lifted the twins in his arms and hurried towards the pack.

"My father had an inn. Should I lodge you all in?"

Stefan made an ’hmm’ sound. That’d solve the problem of looking for where to lodge while carrying all three of them. "You are from Kleon pack, aren’t you?"

"Yes, their official fisherman. Koi. Nice to meet you. And you are a Lycan Alpha with a werewolf princess, its quite a unique situation." He smiled broadly.

Stefan made a mental note to be careful with the man who could tell he was a Lycan Alpha in one glance. Also when he checked the young man was quite strong at his Lead Warrior rank.

He brushed off his suspicious thoughts and just appreciated the help the man offered.

They entered the pack of Kleon.

Stefan’s eyes travelled around the place eagerly. Its been a while he had travelled for sightseeing without feeling he should be overly alert.

The place had a serene environment, like Green Valleys but more cheerful as the people were happy. That was how Green Valleys was before he came anyway.

A small inn was ahead and Stefan matched Koi’s speed as he entered the inn and began moving upstairs.

"You might want to register while I drop them in a room." Koi said.

Stefan hummed and followed him. "Let me drop her in the room too." He referred to Laurel. If she wakes up and doesn’t see her children by her side, she’d kill him.

He dropped Laurel in the room and noticed there were only one bed inside. He shrugged.

Its not like he needed to sleep anyway and they would head to the restaurant the moment she felt better.

He got down and went to the inn keeper, a young girl with slanted eyes. She pushed a book to him and looked up. "What room number would you pick?" she had a low voice.

Stefan remembered seeing room 19 and said that. The girl furrowed her brows and looked at her book. That room, the owner of that room.

She sighed and rubbed her temples. Not again.
