Her Vengeful Lycan Alpha -

Chapter 391: The Date I
Chapter Three Hundred-Ninety-One – The Date I
Bebe signaled to Green Valleys warriors to protect the border more tightly.
She did this in the case Black Claws Warriors were being nice because they wanted to bring another stray Lycan into their pack.
The Green Valleys warriors became more alert on getting that instruction.
The moment Laurel stepped out of the border, she caught the scent of her mate and stopped walking. He was already there waiting for her?
She turned to Bebe. "On second thoughts, you don’t need to walk me to the tree. Stopping here is fine."
Marino looked at the direction Stefan was and pointed. Laurel wondered if he could sense him too. That’d be really sharp senses for a kid his age.
Bebe gave Mira to her without questions and returned back to the border. Laurel watched her to be sure she left before marching towards Stefan.
"Marino." She looked at the boy. "Alpha wanted me to tell you that he’s sorry about what happened and he wanted you two to be friends again."
Marino looked at her with a surprised expression. "Me?"
Laurel nodded. "He really liked being friends with you. What do you say? Princess is no longer angry with him so you can definitely be friends with him again, right?"
Marino looked down and gently nodded. "Hmm."
Mira looked lost but didn’t make any reaction.
Laurel exhaled for the nth time before sitting at a tree. It was better he came for her than she look for him.
Also when she came closer, his scent seemed to have faded. Mira looked at a particular direction and tapped the Princess.
Laurel looked at the direction and immediately hid with the twins. Her eyes were darkening. What was Lady Cara doing there!
She felt a slight restriction in her heart but exhaled again for it to clear up. That was nothing. Even if Lady Cara was with the Alpha, it shouldn’t be her business.
She climbed up the tree and rested there with her children. Just staying with them was fun on its own.
If Stefan didn’t come to find her, she’d just stay there with them. Thankfully, she had packaged some snacks for them so on the wide branch of the tree that extended to three branches, they had a little picnic for the twins.
She stayed at the edge so they wouldn’t roll and fall.
Marino brought out stick figures that he sneaked in and Laurel rubbed his hair. Those stick figures were like his own children sometimes.
She noticed new ones among them and realized Zeldris had been busy again. She played them with him, till a stone touched her.
Her expression became flat because she knew who it was. "Whoever you are, do not bother the family time of Princess Laurel or get fed some stickmen."
Marino quickly hid his stick toys because they definitely didn’t look fun inside someone’s mouth.
Lady Cara smirked and tried to climb the tree, she got tired halfway and waited at near the end. "What are you doing in the forest with little children?"
Mira raised her hand. "We came to see tree again!"
Laurel had been worried when she first opened her mouth because she thought she’d speak about the restaurant but the girl had a more innocent reply.
She nodded at her support. Also saying ’again’ made it seem like it wasn’t the first time.
Lady Cara believed it and tried to get higher on the tree trunk. "It’s a bit cold here."
Marino kept hiding his stick toys the more the Lady came closer because he could envision the Princess snatching it and sticking it in the lady’s mouth.
Lady Cara finally reached and Laurel frowned.
The visit to the restaurant had to happen as soon as possible because she still had to sleep early and put the twins to sleep too.
"Cara, I said to leave." She carelessly pushed her down and Cara flipped back to not fall on her butt.
Her heart was thumping loudly at the realization that she could’ve been badly injured if she didn’t flip before landing.
"Hey, that was dangerous even if you don’t like me."
Marino exhaled in relief as it seemed his stick toys would be safe. Cara noticed his relief and wondered if her being kicked away pleased him.
She sighed and arranged her hair. "Enjoy your little picnic then. I’d be soon busy with my own life."
Laurel sometimes felt bad for her since loneliness was the reason she latched onto people sometimes, but if she really wanted someone then her warriors would always keep her company if she spoke nicely to them.
They stayed there for another ten minutes before noticing that the snacks were almost finished. "When they’re done, I’d just go back to my room."
Laurel ran her hands through her hair and sighed. She shouldn’t be so disappointed when they were so many reasons why Stefan would disappoint. Like he had more important things to do, of course.
Marino turned behind him, and pointed at something there. Laurel cracked her neck back and snapped it forward instantly when she sighted him.
He was still far away so she couldn’t catch his scent but what the hell was he doing climbing the trees and walking to them through trees?
"Is he trying to avoid Cara? That’d make sense. Then is he also hiding his aura?" She turned to him again and he waved.
She snapped her head back again so it wouldn’t look like she was expectantly waiting for him. "I guess that’s why I can’t sense him well enough, and he’s far."
She rubbed Marino’s head when she saw the conflicted expression on his face. "He’s your friend now and he’d be taking us to a fun place, okay?"
Marino made a small smile and nodded. Laurel carried the two and jumped down the tree, she glanced at Stefan who was already close.
"You must be bored!" She said, raising her voice so he’d hear her.
He jumped down the tree and strolled to her, his eyes quickly roamed over her form and he made a small nod. "I hope I wasn’t late."
Laurel shrugged. "I was early." She didn’t know for sure if she was but she felt better knowing that they both agreed to come by evening and came the moment evening reached.
Did it also mean they were excited about meeting? She couldn’t say but she definitely didn’t feel all the things he felt for her.
Stefan watched her facial expressions change and he wondered what she thought about. She was always conflicting with herself and it worried him that they may be thoughts to stop seeing him.
"Should I help you carry one?" he asked to distract her, and because Marino had been staring at him.
Laurel snapped from her thoughts and pushed the troublesome one, Mira, to him. "Sure, thank you."
Stefan held the girl in his arms without knowing what to do. The little girl had a flat look too, she turned to the Princess with a ’you betrayed me’ expression.
Stefan sighed and followed Laurel and Marino ahead. "Do you know where the pack is?" Stefan asked since Laurel was in front.
She stopped moving and he smiled. She was probably instinctively taking steps away from him. He had to find a way to keep them within shoulder length.
"I could hold them both." If he did that, she might stay closer to be with them.
Laurel shook her head without saying anything. He made an ’hmm’ sound and returned to his head. "So Kai, kindly do not bother me all through this date? I feel I’d do better without the judgmental tone too, okay?"
His wolf huffed. "I do that because you are bad at making connections with our mate. Now, that you have made a head start, I’d happily take a step back."
That was all Stefan needed to hear before he cut the connection. Laurel was all his for this evening and he’d do his best.
Few minutes later, Laurel stopped walking and Stefan panicked. Did she realize what he just realized?
"Are we lost, Stefan?" her eyes bored holes into his body in an accusatory way. She could see him almost panicking so wondered if she was right.
However, he shook his head, waving in dismissal. "No, but I remembered that I should’ve called a carriage."
He just realized and now wanted to connect to someone at the pack but two reasons held him back. One, it was too far to connect and two, Laurel might not want anyone seeing her on a date with him.
He didn’t want her to regret this and that’s why he went through the trouble to dispatch Lady Cara before hand.
Laurel sighed and kept walking. She didn’t think they were turning in circles either but all the places and trees looked alike. Maybe this was what the other parts outside Green Valleys looked like.
She decided to take it in good faith and enjoy taking a journey with her kids through different places. She pointed at a pointy tree and Marino turned to it with sparkling eyes.
Mira pouted and turned to Stefan, he obediently took her close to see the tree as well.
