Chapter 386: Arguing

Chapter Hundred-Eighty-Six – Arguing

For the next ten minutes, Sorren stayed at a place before he rose up. He rubbed his sleepy eyes in an attempt to be fully awake.

"I can’t sleep on anything that isn’t a bed, huh?" he sighed. "Then how did I sleep during the meeting?"

"Because you’re awfully lazy."

The Prince smiled on hearing Zeldris ’s voice. The young man barely knew him yet could figure that out? "Well, you’re not wrong." he shrugged.

There was nothing better to do so he really wanted to slack around. His older brother doesn’t have time for him, as always. "I came to see you though."

Zeldris was carrying Marino, the boy was asleep on his back. "Well, if it’s about the Princess—"

"No, I try not to speak of her with you since you’re bound to be partial to her." Sorren waved his hand dismissively. "I wanted to ask about the guest she had."

Quincy? Zeldris looked away. The Princess had told him not to give out too much information about Quincy and treat him like her guest and relative.

Actually, there was little he knew about Quincy but he obviously had the Princess’s happiness at heart and that was enough for Zeldris to trust him.

"There’s not much I can say about him." Zeldris replied, without making eye contact.

"Him?" Sorren raised a brow and cracked his neck to make eye contact. "I heard it’s a she."

Zeldris smirked. "Which ever suits you."

Sorren raised a brow. How could this person he have two genders to pick from? His older brother had most definitely called the guest a she. Sorren brushed the thought aside.

"Can I meet them then?"

Zeldris looked ahead and Quincy was walking in already, with Bebe and another sick child. "You can."

Quincy rocked the little boy who couldn’t take his eyes off the pretty lady holding him. "So tell me what your name is, handsome man?" he said in a feminine voice.

Bebe chuckled as no matter how many times she heard it, it still cracked her up. The little boy smiled, despite his weakness. "Noe."

Quincy pinched his cheeks lightly. "Don’t worry, Neo will feel better soon enough."

The boy nodded and Quincy transferred him to Bebe who went to another room to take care of him. Quincy turned to Sorren who was watching him, then to Zeldris.

Sorren was sure it was a female with the body proportion and voice so what made his cousin say male? He didn’t even have any muscles anywhere.

"You two don’t look alike at all." Quincy told Zeldris with his normal masculine voice. "And it seems you want to talk to me?" he glanced at Sorren. "Or else why are you staring for so long?"

Sorren froze on hearing his voice.

That was some talent as far as he was concerned. He even wished he could do that when he needed to scam creeps who thought he was a girl.

The young man had just morphed to a boy with feminine features the moment from his point of view the spoke. Sorren cleared his throat. "You came from far away."

"Haven’t you heard that part already." Quincy replied.

Sorren hummed. Another member of Laurel’s officials with an attitude, it seemed she attracts those like her. He sat up, facing Quincy. "Why do you dress like that?"

Quincy looked at himself down to the grown, he looked Sorren over. "And why do you dress like that?"

Sorren’s face contorted to a scowl. "Huh?" he looked down at his clothes and a trouser was definitely present. He looked up at Quincy with a frown. Why did he ask him back when he totally looked more normal than his crossdressing ass?!

Zeldris came between them immediately, they shouldn’t leave important discussions and begin making hates comments at themselves.

Since he knew how sensitive each of them were about their looks, he could tell that it’d cause a generational hatred of they continue so it’d be best to leave that out of their judging tactics.

Quincy pulled Zeldris behind him, and stepped to the Prince. "That reminds me, why did your discussion with your long lost cousin turn to talks about our Princess and you ended up spoiling his mood? Some cousin you are."

Zeldris tried to stop Quincy from saying that but he pulled him aside and continued, pointing at Sorren.

"You couldn’t have spoken about anything else but gossip about the princess that generously lets you and your kin stay on her land? And I’m quite sure your words were duly exaggerated because a mate that tried to kill her many times, including today, doesn’t deserved her."

Sorren was growing offended at his tone till he mentioned tried killing Laurel today? What nonsense was that? Did Laurel say that?

He somehow blamed himself for telling Zeldris all that when he suspected that he had feelings for the Princess so it was definitely bound to spoil his mood.

Yet this Quincy was spewing some nonsense!

"I was there today, and so was Zeldris, so when did the attempt at the Princess like happen?"

Quincy turned to Zeldris, with a slight grin. "Was the Princess not so exasperated that she could’ve died?"

Zeldris didn’t know if that really counted but he slowly nodded since it was factual. Princess Laurel had definitely complained about dying during her second trip back. The Knight avoided looking at Sorren and slowly left the hall.

Those two should claw at themselves for as far as he cared, he had no intentions of having to pick sides.

Sorren hummed, seeing how he structured the accusations and even brought his younger cousin in it. His older brother might claim that Zeldris was annoying but it was probably because he’d never spoken with this one for long as he thought it was a she.

"So much for a Delta wolf if your Princess can’t handle some walks? Don’t you think?" he cocked his head.

Quincy raised a brow. "Why does her rank matter to you? How do you even know it?" Quincy took a step backwards, making Sorren frown. "That’s a creep energy, right there!"

Sorren left his seat in annoyance. Now he was being accused of being creepy by this she-he he met few minutes ago?

His older brother once mentioned how the officials at Laurel’s quarters were always so opinionated but he didn’t think it was so bad.

"You know who I am, don’t you?"

"You don’t expect my loyalty and respect to you, do you?" Quincy folded his arms. "Laurel might do it because she’s scared for her people but not me."

"So you aren’t scared for her people?" Sorren asked with a serious tone.

Quincy smirked. "Oh, so I should be? You guys will raid the pack again if respect and loyalty isn’t laid on your feet?"

Sorren clicked his tongue. He definitely pulled him into that messy question. He shook his head. "I didn’t mean that and you know it!"

Quincy shrugged, faking a defeated expression. "How will I know what you mean when I should be sprawled under your feet, Princey?"

Sorren rubbed his forehead. He’d never met anyone so hard to talk to. "You are hard to talk to. How did we get to arguing when I only wanted to ask you some simple questions!"

"Maybe the overflowing dislike I have for self-righteous murderers came through?" Quincy turned away. "And I’m not in the mood to talk to you. Go and handle the things you buried in your farm."

Sorren narrowed his eyes at him. "What so you mean?"

"Don’t tell me the acclaimed smartest Lycan in black claws hadn’t realized it or are you playing dumb? I heard you play hide and seek with dead bodies in your farm! They’re definitely the cause of what’s happening." Quincy said that with as much disgust as possible.

Those buried wolves were even from Green Valleys young werewolfesses. What was the moon Goddess thinking by making this mad man the Princess’s potential brother-in-law?!

Sorren had a thinking expression as he looked away. He had suspected that was the cause because his late mother had once complained about the bodies causing deaths to the animals.

Yet he wasn’t sure so didn’t want to assume till he was very sure. "You’ve heard of this before?"

"My clan once practiced that because we thought the dead ones would bless the land, but when the sickness broke out we found the source and stopped, so yes." Quincy ran his hand through his hair with a mocking expression. "I told Laurel you weren’t that smart anyway."

Sorren smirked. "I wasn’t the one who told her that I was smart she probably believing that herself "

"Are you saying she’s wrong?" Quincy grinned. "Well, you are right."

Sorren clicked his tongue again. Once again, he’d baited him to that response. The young man was really good at baiting him into responses he didn’t want to say.

It’s almost as if he’s arguing with himself. Why were they even arguing? He still had no idea.
