Chapter 362: Water Bed

Chapter Three Hundred-Sixty-Two – Waterbed

The Princess and the two Lead Warriors walked sluggishly as they moved along the forest that led to the Rolling Stones Pack.

For some reasons, possibly renovation of their houses, those people had cut down trees, the trees that usually shielded those in the forest from the sun’s piercing rays.

Hence, the three moved slowly under the intense sunlight that threatened to fry them on the spot, if they stopped moving for even a second.

Baxter had begun to regret spending his free morning by following the Princess and Valkyrie, who didn’t speak to him and only glared whenever he spoke.

As they moved, they reached a path that had smooth rocks over a small waterbed. He crossed first and noticed it was slippery.

"Um... ladies, this place is—" when he turned to point a different path to them, he noticed Valkyrie already slipping and falling.

He quickly held her arm and pulled her to himself, causing him to fall on his back with Valkyrie on his body.

The Princess had already paused when she noticed the waterbed and the stones around it, but before she could warn Valkyrie, the warrior already stepped forward.

Laurel exhaled, watching the two on the ground. They might have tapped out of their consciousness a bit, but then Valkyrie suddenly sprang up from Baxter’s body.

Baxter sat up when she did, he kept his head down as his body was trembling. He managed to mutter. "S-Sorry..." His mind kept on spiraling.

Was he a pervert? Then why did Valkyrie’s soft body laying on his made his whole body excited and shake?

Was this because he’s still a virgin? Wasn’t he supposed to be a Lady’s man at least? It confused him. He noticed she still stood there, and forced himself to look up.

His eyes lit up when he didn’t see her glaring or having a disgusted expression yet her eyes were on him, or was it on his head?

"You’re bleeding." She stated.

Baxter reached for his head and gasped. That’s why he felt tired and experienced his mind spiraling. "Y-Yes, I hit my head on a stone... sorry..." he tried to stand but his balance was off and he fell back.

That embarrassed him so he stayed on the ground and watched her leave, it pained him that she’d leave but he understood that he brought it on himself by coming along.

He noticed the Princess still there and made a small smile. "Don’t worry, Princess, I’d be safe here."

Laurel dragged her eyes from Valkyrie who picked herbs, to Baxter whose bleeding streamed towards his left eye.

She reached for a handkerchief and wiped the blood streaming to his eyes. The closeness made Baxter to swallow down nothing as he tried not to look at her lips.

The Alpha definitely felt something for her and would kill him if he saw them in this position.

"You wanted to come with us, right? So you’re coming."

Laurel dropped the stained handkerchief on his head. It had the Green Valleys’ symbol and Baxter wondered if he should have something important like this.

Valkyrie returned and his heart skipped a beat when she came close, closer than the Princess had been, to rub his head with herbs’ paste.

The feeling was painful but Valkyrie doing it made him relax, she gently rubbed the injured area with her hands and reduced the pressure anytime he winced.

He made sure to keep his eyes down because he knew he’d stare at her but Valkyrie didn’t understand and pushed his head up, so she could rub it better.

Laurel studied the gaze Baxter had on Valkyrie, she had heard that he was fond of her after Valkyrie brought him back from his mission. She knew the real story, anyway.

But these lycans, they really fell in love quickly if simple acts of kindness made their heart beat faster.

Laurel didn’t know much about love but Baxter definitely stared at Valkyrie like she was really important to him. He probably felt that way already or he’d not help her.

Laurel exhaled, remembering what they came for. "We should hurry. Lead Warrior Baxter, it’d be better you return to the pack and rest, we’d take a while there."

Baxter noticed how far he’d come already. To walk back, alone and under the sun, he didn’t want to. "I’d come."

Valkyrie frowned at the stubbornness but said nothing, she left his side and washed her hand in the small water bed. She walked in front and walked more carefully.

Baxter tried to match her pace and stay by her side but he had pangs of headaches that slowed him down.

It’d take half an hour for the injury to heal completely and he should really be resting but he didn’t want to leave Valkyrie’s side yet.

"Slow down." Laurel pulled him back. "We’d get to the same place she’s going. You don’t have to protect her from anything." She kept him by her side.

Baxter stared at her for a bit before exhaling. Staying with two beautiful ladies while having a head panging with headaches wasn’t very ideal but it’s not bad.

They reached Rolling Stones Pack and stopped in front of the entrance, an entrance that wasn’t there when Laurel last visited. She tilted her head to look at the surroundings.

Everything had been renovated, including the walls, and if she remembered right, there was no waterbed last time. It must be a new development to get water.

A little girl noticed the guests and instantly recognized the princess that looked like the moon goddess she read in books.

She ran to her and blushed when Laurel’s green eyes landed on her. Laurel recognized the girl and patted her head, she walked into the pack with the girl in hand.

This pack only needed food and a means of survival, they were truly independent and Bebe would really need to step up to be able to keep this up.

Alpha Ella had set a really huge milestone.
