Her Vengeful Lycan Alpha -

Chapter Three Hundred-Fifty-Six – Unconscious
Escanor hesitated to clear his mind of everything. He gulped down saliva and looked down.
All the things the Alpha had told him? Were they all that unimportant that it should be thrown away or the Princess spoke out of dislike for the Alpha?
He had spoken with the Alpha and the Alpha didn’t seem bad and genuinely worried for the Princess. Escanor turned to Zeldris who came towards him curiously.
"What did the Alpha say? Something bad happened?" Zeldris asked while monitoring the Delta’s face. He noticed the evident hesitation and distress.
What had that Alpha told him that made Escanor think of picking sides? Zeldris sighed. Escanor was a guy who used his heart more than his head.
In the battle between Black Claws Pack and Green Valleys Pack, using the head for more than the heart was all they could do so they wouldn’t be trampled upon.
That Alpha definitely learnt how to manipulate intentions and that’d easily work on the Delta. He gestured for the Princess to relax because she evidently felt worked up.
Escanor didn’t look like he understood their point so Zeldris pulled him away from the Princess and assured her. "I’d talk to the Delta. It may be a miscommunication."
"Who exactly is Quincy though?" Escanor asked openly.
"My guest from my father’s tribe." Laurel quipped instantly. "Am I not allowed to have guests, now?"
The Knight face palmed as it already started.
Escanor sighed. "He just came from nowhere and we don’t even know his intentions. What if he’s—"
"I guess I should judge your cousins if they come to visit you here, right? Because, I don’t know them so they must be bad." Laurel raised a brow. "Keep being silly."
She walked away from him and out of the Lead Warrior’s quarters. Quincy surely had other motives for being here, but to instantly think there were bad motives was unlike Escanor and more like that jealous scheming Alpha.
"Infact, I should give him a piece of my mind since he’s so into Quincy and I." She changed directions and marched to the King’s palace.
How could he openly try to manipulate her innocent Delta? Was that what he should spend his time doing as an Alpha?
"Excuse me!" she barged into the palace.
The warriors bowed their heads instinctively and didn’t dare look up. Two officials of the Princess had met with the Alpha and now, she had come herself.
She also recently came back from her travel to High Moon Kingdom were it was said that the King bullied her.
The guards couldn’t help but pity their lonely Alpha who’d be eaten alive by the Princess in few minutes.
There was a knock on the Alpha’s study. Stefan’s face contorted to a scowl as his mind went to Cara. "What do you want with my me today, Ca—"
"That’s exactly what I want to ask you!" Laurel barged in. "What do you want with me and my officials today?"
The way she pounced in and slapped the door back loudly made the frame shake and a nut loosened.
Stefan fell silent. She visited him today, finally but not in the mood he’d wished for. He might never get that wish.
"So?" Laurel tilted her head. "My guests are always suspicious to you, you want to know who they are, and why they are alive! What does it matter to you, Stefan?!"
It was the first time he remembered she ever mentioning his name and he couldn’t help but smile, and unknowingly riling Laurel up.
"Is it wrong to worry about—"
"Yes!" Laurel deadpanned. "I don’t care about what’s happening in your life or in your pack so don’t act nosey in mine! It annoys me greatly! Keep to yourself!"
Stefan’s face straightened. He didn’t realize she was this serious with him staying away from her. It was as if she didn’t feel the mate bond that kept plaguing him.
"But we are—"
"You killed my father!" Laurel spelt out. "We are enemies!"
That sounded awfully familiar to what he had told her when they first met and she had begged him to spare her. Stefan felt his tongue tie again and he looked down.
"Stop being entitled and keep your nose in your own business, Alpha. Most importantly, don’t try to cause discord between my officials by polluting their minds. If I meet any trouble, it’s my business. If I die, I die."
Stefan’s heart sank to the bottom of his chest and he said nothing, breathing in slowly. That felt like a sentence she placed on him, not to worry about her safety.
Kai would never listen to that and he could never not listen to Kai. If he really wanted to do what she wants, that’d be the doing the opposite of what he wanted.
Laurel didn’t wait for Stefan to counter and left the study, still fuming. The guards dragged their heads down again as she pounced out of the palace.
One of them looked up at her with determination in his eyes. The rest noticed and tried to warn him but he already made his mind up to speak to her.
They were guards of Green Valleys who shouldn’t hide away from a teenage girl that became a princess.
He could tell his Alpha was lonely and while he didn’t know why the Alpha put himself in her business, the guard knew the Alpha didn’t mean harm so the Princess didn’t need to scold him all the time.
"Princess, I’d like to ask you not to trouble the Alpha like this frequently. He has things to do... you...know..." his confidence waned as her eyes bored holes into his.
His throat became sore and his legs shook subtly. He didn’t understand what happened to him but he found that he couldn’t look away from her eyes.
"Tell that to your Alpha." Laurel’s eyes darkened on the lesser form before her, before she snapped from the eye contact and the guard fell due to his weakened knees.
Laurel noticed it but ignored him, heading to the Beta’s quarters. The other guards rushed to the one that fell and tried to raise him up, but he didn’t move.
"He’s unconscious." One of the guards announced after touching his neck. "How could he fall unconscious after..." he turned to the Princess’s retreating figure.
Did she do that? Or her glare striked fear into the guard’s heart so much that he passed out? Not probable.
"Was that some form of magic?" Another asked and the rest nodded in agreement. It’s probably a form of magic and it was just used randomly with no dangerous intent.
That was wrong, wasn’t it? No matter what happened, the Princess shouldn’t use magic on them that could threaten their lives. She should’ve reported first.
"I don’t think it’s magic." One of them countered after thinking about it. "She said nothing, did nothing, and nothing hit him. Also, not everyone can learn magic in short time. Don’t spread such rumors."
It made sense and they all agreed again, but they couldn’t place what exactly happened. Could it really be shock and fear that made their friend pass out?
"Let’s just really avoid that Princess." Another said. "The Alpha wouldn’t punish her if she kills us and we don’t want to be killed. We’d tell Lead Warrior Baxter and forget this."
The Lead Warrior might be able to plead with the Princess to look at them more gently if that’d help. They couldn’t keep fainting in front of the Alpha’s palace.
Two of the guards helped the unconscious one to return to the Warrior’s quarters for rest and check-up.

It had been on Laurel’s mind for the past three days, all she had done was glare at that guard. Why did she feel stronger the more she stared into his eyes?
Zeldris had later told her that the guard didn’t show up for two days and only showed up yesterday, and he looked fine. The Princess couldn’t place what could’ve happened.
She didn’t want to go there herself and enquire, because if something bad had happened to him, he could become violent towards her and cause something worse.
"Lead Warrior Baxter would come to meet me soon though." She muttered. Suddenly, she’d been seeing him staring at her from a far but not getting close.
He wasn’t a secret admirer of hers in any sorts but gauging how he’d bring this up to her. She was ready for him any day, she didn’t do anything anyway.
Also, his Beta was yet to apologize to her guest for that assault. Compared to her who did nothing, his attack nearly took someone’s life.
Laurel planned to make Quincy join the training the young Beta organized. To protect her and himself, he needed more than a smart mouth and head to do that.
They were surrounded by lycans who only understood violence and the only way to survive was by having a violent self to combat.
"I hope we wouldn’t lose ourselves to that violence at the end of the day." Mira said, trying to be a voice of reason.
Laurel huffed, ignoring that voice of reason.
