Chapter 354: Walk Of Shame
Chapter Three Hundred-Fifty-Four – Walk of Shame
Laurel looked around the Lead Warrior’s quarters and found Little Mira at the backyard drawing on her small book. The Princess exhaled in relief.
She’d been searching for the little girl since they played hide and seek but she never came to seek she or her brother.
Little Mira always had amazing mood swings but Laurel didn’t think this will be one of them, as she didn’t even stay with her brother in the room but sat outside.
She looked into her book and saw that she drew a stick figure with a big head and quite detailed face that had jewelry and a big mouth covered with lip ointment.
"I am definitely not who she’s drawing." Laurel said, sitting besides the girl. She rarely wore jewelry and if she did, not always on her ears. "Did you make a new friend?"
Little Mira looked up then made a small smile that Laurel attributed to a ’yes’, still they weren’t many around her that dressed this way but it could’ve been from Lisa’s quarters.
The girls at the only females abode did a lot of things there. Laurel rubbed Mira’s head and left her to her drawing. She left to check up on Quincy again.
"Your highness," a maid came running into the hall and bowed in front of the Princess. "Knight Zeldris said that the Alpha asked for the presence of Delta Escanor."
He did? Laurel folded her arms. "Okay...?"
Why did they feel the need to tell her? Didn’t they find Escanor who had been called upon? It wouldn’t be for anything important, Escanor didn’t even join her travel.
But she slowly realized the newest one amongst them, it must be to ask about the identity of Quincy, wasn’t it?
Even the Beta had been intimidated by Quincy’s presence and attacked him without warning. Those Lycans wanted to be at the top all the time.
Escanor didn’t know much about him apart from his first meeting here, they also seemed to be friends already as they walked to the meeting together.
In all, Escanor didn’t know anything about Quincy to tell the Alpha, there was nothing to be afraid off.
"Also, Lady Cara is here." The maid added.
That part made the Princess’s folded arms fall. She had caught her scent while playing with the twins but assumed she was wrong.
"Bring her in." she marched to her big seat immediately to show that Cara who’s in charge. "Thank you."
The maid hurried away and Lady Cara strolled to Laurel in impatient strides. "Princess Laurel, we meet again."
The Princess’ wondered why she made it sound like they like they were destined to meet by fate. She waved off the Lady’s delusions. "You shouldn’t be here and you know it."
Cara scoffed softly, her eyes danced about looking for the little children she saw with the Princess. "I needed to tell you that I’m offering to train your warriors. Alpha’s wish."
She’s offering? And it’s also the Alpha’s wish? That didn’t add up to Laurel but she gave her response anyway.
The lady wasn’t even highly ranked yet wanted to teach. So many things were wrong with this arrangement.
"No, I am not interested in anyone from Black Claws training them after General Conrad refused to." She didn’t want the man to train them either.
The young Beta already had plans for that.
"I will tell the Alpha this response." Lady Cara said in hopes that the Princess will ease up, but she watched the Princess smirk. Didn’t she care at all? "Al-Alright then."
Laurel nodded and pointed at the door. She should speak of Cade’s attack on Quincy but it might sound like she refused the Lady because of that.
She never wanted her warriors to be trained by a selfish lycan that’d turn them to her brainless lovers.
Cara made another walk of shame out the Lead Warrior’s quarters and cursed that things didn’t just work as she wanted when she’s the most pitiful.
How could she inherit Delta Sigma’s duties? It’d make her damage her nice body and have muscular arms.
Entering the Alpha’s palace, she sighted Dylan leaving and stopped for him to catch-up to her. She had avoided him since he nearly killed her and when Sigma got hurt.
"Excuse me, please?" she used a low voice so he wouldn’t be riled up. "When is the Delta coming back?"
That’d be another way to solve it, bringing the Delta back to handle his own duties. That way, her brother and Alpha wouldn’t mind that she had nothing to do.
She could even help the Delta by being alert to when the products finished as the kitchen said the Delta wasn’t very watchful. That’d be something for her to do.
"Sigma is currently at Prince Sorren’s quarters and may not be coming back anytime soon." Dylan reported.
The lady grew pale. Not anytime soon? What the hell did he do while at the Prince’s quarters apart from sleep?
Dylan saw her stunned expression and did his best to not laugh. As a matter of fact, he was on his way to bring Sigma back to the pack where he’d stay with the Lead Warrior for a while, without resuming his duties.
Only when Thales, the witch of Green Valleys, confirm that he’s completely fine, then he could resume. Dylan didn’t want the Lady knowing this as she could make the resumption faster.
It’s funny and all the warriors knew that she took over the Delta’s duties when she didn’t have quarter of his strength. Her brother had unknowingly made her a laughingstock.
Cara nodded in understanding and moved away for the young warrior to pass. She had to accept that this job would be hers for a long time or else she’d keep suffering.
She hurried to the Alpha’s study and knocked before entering, even when she didn’t get a reply. Two pairs of eyes met hers and she froze.
She stared at the beautiful red-haired young man in the room with the Alpha and her jaw dropped. She blinked multiple times but the sight didn’t diminish.
"Cara, what is it?" Stefan asked quickly. Why did she keep popping up in his study like she owned the place?
