Her Vengeful Lycan Alpha -
Chapter 353: Disrespectful
Chapter 353: Disrespectful
Chapter Three Hundred-Fifty-Three – Disrespectful
Cara snapped from her delusions and thought hard on the question he asked. She needed to train Princess Laurel’s warriors but the princess might not let her.
At that point, she couldn’t say all the words in her head and blurted out without context. "Princess Laurel...?"
Stefan’s hands stopped wiping the shirt, his blue eyes shifted to Cara’s form and darkened. "Why do you want Princess Laurel, Cara?"
Cara stepped back when she felt she got misunderstood but she didn’t know how.
The Princess wouldn’t let her train her warriors without the Alpha’s permission. That’s what she so badly wanted to report but with the darkened gaze the Alpha looked at her in, she couldn’t open her lips.
She lowered her head, hoping that her brother would come in to submit something and distract the Alpha.
At that point, she sensed a presence at the Alpha’s study but couldn’t celebrate as it’s yet another person that’d berate her. She tried to leave but decided to wait.
"Alpha Stefan." Zeldris bowed and selected the notices he had with him on the table. "These are reports of Rolling Stones’ Pack and Green Valleys’ trade with Damancas."
Stefan’s eyes shifted from Cara to Zeldris.
He sighed. Couldn’t it be anyone but him who’d be bringing in the notices? "That guest of yours? What’d he be doing for the princess?"
Zeldris frowned, why did the Alpha care what their guests do? Couldn’t someone relax and enjoy what they left Green Valleys as?
He turned to Lady Cara and smirked. Stefan immediately understood what he meant. Cara did as well and balled her fists.
"I do something around here, young man. You just don’t let me. My brother... I mean, the Beta told me to train the warriors at Green Valleys."
Both Stefan and Zeldris had genuinely puzzled looks. Zeldris shook his head and continued selecting the notices to drop on the Alpha’s table.
"The Princess has a competent Lead Warrior, Ma’am. There’s no need to stress your bones for our sake, please. We can handle ourselves." He said in a polite tone.
Shivers ran down Cara’s body and she shook like she’d explode. Ma’am? Stressing her bones? He still spoke like she was a damn granny.
Stefan didn’t pick up what Zeldris taunted Cara with but he knew that the young man suddenly being polite would mean the opposite. "So the guest is just a freeloader?"
The Alpha’s questions began to bother Zeldris. Did he become conscious of Quincy only because he found out that he’s a male wolf? So this was his jealousy?
Zeldris decided to amplify it.
After all, Quincy was ready to sacrifice to be a love interest to the Lycan Alpha so he’d leave the princess, he wouldn’t mind being a rival.
If anything, that could’ve been what he was going for when he kept the princess behind him in front of the Alpha and scolded the Alpha. Or when her held her hands.
Zeldris didn’t know how to feel about that as he didn’t want anyone taking the Princess away in such a long forevermore journey yet, but it should never be the lycan.
"He’s a guest from her tribe, sent to protect and stay with her. A freeloader is an insult to such a prestigious guest of the Princess, Alpha Stefan, please."
Stefan paused. Sent to protect her and stay with her from her tribe? That sounded like a househusband! He kept his thoughts to himself as he didn’t want to be disrespectful.
He glanced at Cara still frozen by his door. "You don’t expect her to disobey direct orders from the Beta either, do you? That’d be disrespectful."
The Knight expected that card to be replayed to him. The Alpha probably picked that up from the Princess, the queen in playing back cards.
He nodded. "Very well, we’d see what the Princess’ final response will be as that’s all that matters, isn’t it?"
Stefan frowned. This Knight wanted to force that out of him, didn’t he? He just said that his Beta’s words had to be obeyed and now he wants him to accept that the Princess’s words are the ultimate.
"Shouldn’t her words be the ultimate? Those are her warriors and her pack!" Kai shouted in his head. "Stop playing dangerous politics that’d annoy my mate!!"
Stefan rubbed the back on his mate, glaring at Zeldris. Did he have to always lose to them?
"Cara, if the Princess doesn’t accept you training her warriors then you have to let it go. If you’re enthusiastic about training warriors, then join Lead Warrior Baxter to help our own."
Cara grew pale. Not only did the Alpha not help her but he gave her a dangerous alternative. She shook her head frantically. "Our warriors don’t like me—"
"What made you think ours like you then?" Zeldris raised a brow, he shook his head at her. "We already have a training going on. Our Delta and Beta handles it."
Stefan remembered the Beta and frowned. He’d not really had the chance to talk with the boy at length but he seemed to be like the other officials. A smart mouth.
"That sounds interesting. When you return, tell the Delta to meet with me so I can know the details." Stefan requested.
Zeldris’s expression became straight. Escanor? That one had an open minded mindset towards these lycans and could say things that he shouldn’t say.
He cleared his throat and bowed. He’d finished submitting the notices and had other engagements. The more he stayed with the Alpha, the more he’d speak out.
Cara exhaled when the Knight left. That’s a really horrible young man in her books. She realized that she’s back to square one and the only option was the Princess.
If the Princess didn’t accept her training her warriors, then she’d have to return to her brother in defeat. And that meant accepting the Delta’s roles that were tough.
They mainly consisted of moving things around the palace and mostly things like barrels of oil, ointment of bags of wheat, rice, beans, and many others.
To be careful of being poisoned, only a close official could do that. She also had to be watchful of when the kitchen would run out of them to restock.
Those heavyweight jobs could only be done by Sigma, she wanted nothing to do with them.
