Chapter 351: Pressured

Chapter Three Hundred-Fifty-One – Pressured

Beta Cade’s question would’ve made Zeldris laugh if he’s in the mood. A tall lycan official towering over a young warrior werewolf and he didn’t think she’d feel scared?

"How friendly do you think you look?" Zeldris asked back. The Beta should even start with apologizing for what he did but instead he acted confident.

That prompted Zeldris to feel confident as well. He gave space for Jessika to sneak out, and she entered the kitchen to prepare the medicinal soup for Sigma.

Cade folded his arms, staring at Zeldris. He knew he had accidentally hurt one of them but it was the Princess he owed an apology, not him.

He didn’t want to talk to the Princess yet after what she said about not caring about them but he will eventually. He’d also apologize to the girl too.

"Why is her wolf that big though?" Beta Cade enquired.

It was very uncommon and if that’s how Green Valleys’ wolves were then why didn’t they shift when they raided their Kingdom?

That’d have scared Black Claws back for sure, because they couldn’t even reach their heads and clawing all the time would be exhausting.

Zeldris knew what he meant but since he couldn’t give an exact reason why Quincy’s wolf was that way, he also ignored the Beta’s question like his question got ignored.

"I’d ask you to leave as you’re scaring the others." He pointed at the surrounding that had once been filled with young girls, but they were all gone as the Beta walked in.

Cade didn’t really see that behavior as wrong because even his warriors comported themselves when he passed by, wasn’t that the same thing?

But when Jessika returned with a plate in tray and handed it to Zeldris instead of giving it to him herself, Cade began to wonder if he really gave off uncomfortable aura.

She usually spoke to him normally so why did she shrink away? He tried to meet her gaze but she didn’t look up.

Zeldris stared at the plate in a tray. He knew it’d be given to Sigma, but why? Why did his treatment have to come from Green Valleys when they didn’t hurt him?

"Will your Alpha provide treatment for the one you hurt?" he furrowed his brows.

Cade took the tray and stared at it. He had come to ask Jessika about the injured girl and use it as a mode to start a conversation with her. Sigma already felt better.

He glanced at Jessika that stood behind the door waiting for him to leave. Did their difference in rank made her uncomfortable around him? Or did she hate them too?

Or could the accident with the girl make her this way? It’s probable. He sighed, and left the quarters with the tray.

Zeldris felt relieved when he left, he didn’t understand why all these lycans seem to want to have a closer relationship with their captives, especially the females.

If they cared so much about them, then why not leave their land alone and apologize for raiding them? The lycans always tried to act like none of that happened.

"Jessika, the Princes of Damancas would be visiting the Princess tomorrow or next. Blow their minds with a meal."

Jessika brightened up, forgetting the Beta’s intimidating presence in a second. "Of course, you know it!"

The girls peeked from the rooms and breathed out when they didn’t find the Beta close. Zeldris left the Lead Hunter’s quarters to return to the Princess.

"It might be better if all the girls at Green Valleys get married so these lycans would leave them alone." He said out loud.

But then, Green Valleys currently suffered a low number of men because of the raid, as many males had been warriors. The predominant males now were still young.

The thought of the Princess getting married too passed Zeldris’s mind but he tore it off. The Princess was better off without all those for now.

Meanwhile, Beta Cade returned to his quarters with the tray and plate. He remembered that his younger sister had fallen ill because she had to work.

The job of an Alpha wasn’t easy and it weighed on him when Alpha Stefan left it for him, coupled with the job of a Delta that Cade had been doing, and his job as a Beta.

He passed the Delta’s roles to Cara and she broke down by the next day but had to keep doing it till the Alpha arrived. Cade had found it really hilarious.

How could she be Luna material if she couldn’t be Delta material? He placed the tray besides her bed. "Get up and drink it. You are really weak."

He plopped down on a couch besides her and watched her force herself up to drink it. She squeezed her face because of how bitter it tasted then fell back on the bed.

"Now, you know how hard being an official is. Don’t bother me when I’m doing a job meant for two." Cade smirked. "Also, return that tray to Green Valleys later."

His smirk fell when he remembered how Jessika had avoided being close to him. If their ranks had so much difference, was the only way not to be trained?

He sat up when he had an idea. To be trained. Jessika needed to be trained so she wouldn’t feel pressured around a high ranked official, lycan or werewolf.

"Cara, will you take the chance of getting stronger by training some warriors of Green Valleys?" Cade asked.

He remembered Jessika wasn’t a warrior and thought of how he’d involve her in it. She was part of the Princess’s circle so he might use that to make her involved.

Cara sat up, looking at her brother questioningly. Why did she have to train those extras to be strong? Did he lose nuts in his head? "I can train our warriors if you want—"

"They don’t like you enough to not want to hit you every time they get." Cade deadpanned. "Also, what can you teach them? They have a Lead Warrior."

"So does Green Valleys." Cara reminded.

Cade frowned a bit. The Green Valleys Lead Warrior wasn’t strong enough and he wasn’t particularly fond of her. "You do nothing here. Handle the Delta roles then—"

"No, I’d train them!" Cara blurted out. She clicked her tongue but accepted. "I’d train them."
