Her Vengeful Lycan Alpha -
Chapter 342: Do You Like?
Chapter 342: Do You Like?
Chapter Three Hundred-Forty-Two – Do you like him?
They reached High Mountains and the first and second carriage stopped. Laurel and Zeldris got down and followed the second carriage inside High Mountains.
"Stay in." Laurel ordered Quincy. "I’m only going there to tell whoever replaced Sorren that he’s unconscious because of a minor accident we had on the way."
Quincy looked around the place and could only catch the scent of lycans, before catching a whiff of werewolves.
"They wouldn’t be mean to you, right?" Quincy asked.
Laurel paused and smiled, seeing as he addressed her like a little girl about to be bullied. "I can handle it."
That didn’t sound right to Quincy, they still bothered her whether or not she could handle it. He jumped down the carriage and tied his hair in a bun behind him.
"I am coming too. Zeldris, you don’t mind, right?"
Zeldris shrugged. He also knew of Quincy’s plan to seduce the Lycan Alpha to leave and while the plan sounded superficial, Zeldris wanted to see how it worked.
A male with such a face could pull it off. He remembered Prince Sorren as he thought of that. "Let’s go then."
Laurel gestured to Thales to keep going and the witch floated ahead, the carriages followed him quickly.
Laurel noticed the guards at the border bow to her as she strolled in. That was odd, they usually gave snide remarks or looked at her scornfully. She bowed back.
"Unusual?" Quincy asked, he had noticed her expression.
The Princess replied with how their attitude towards her were usually opposite as she’s the surviving family of her father who attacked their pack.
Quincy wondered if they’d treat him the same way if they found out he had relationship with the King as well. He met the gaze of some warriors looking at him.
"I think I’d play the ’pretty girl card’ so you guys should play along, hmm?" he took a white rope from his dress pocket and wrapped them around his waist.
Zeldris and Laurel were stunned to see his body become defined after tying the rope. Laurel stared down at her body and sighed, her body could never look that good.
Quincy smiled proudly. "Oh, and I’m Quin now." He used a feminine voice. "Give me a sign when we meet the Lycan Alpha, okay?"
Laurel wanted to tell him that the lycan Alpha stayed at their pack but as she got close to Sorren’s quarters, she caught the scent of her mate at the balcony.
Zeldris was stopped by a warrior asking why the Prince Sorren and the others were asleep. Quincy looked up when he noticed Laurel looking towards.
He saw a tall lycan staring at them from the balcony.
Laurel didn’t know why but the look on Stefan’s face made her feel guilty, he looked like she abandoned him. She tore her eyes away and looked down.
Quincy noticed this and frowned a bit. What sort of gaze was that? He didn’t need a signal to know that’s the Lycan Alpha, so why did he have longing while looking at Laurel?
Quincy kept a hand over Laurel and whispered in her ears. "You and this Alpha aren’t in any toxic relationship, are you?" he noticed Laurel tense up. "You are?"
"W-We’re not. I don’t know why he looked at me like that."
"You look guilty so you know." Quincy placed his hand on her head and looked up at the lycan Alpha again. He was looking at the carriage and listening to Zeldris explain.
Quincy deduced that if this lycan Alpha had feelings for Laurel then his seduction wouldn’t work, if anything, the Lycan Alpha would want to stay here to be with Laurel.
Since Princess Laurel felt guilty then it wouldn’t take time for her to return his feelings, whether by will or by force. He wanted to save her from that.
"He doesn’t have good points, does he?" Quincy asked again. He noticed the Princess’s hesitation again. Perhaps, he had good points as well. It’d be hard.
"Do you like him?"
Laurel looked up, frowning. What sort of question was that? Stefan wasn’t her type and if not that they’re mates, she’d never feel anything for him after all he did to her.
"He isn’t my type at all. So no." She wondered why Quincy, a boy brought to marry her asked such a question. She had no interest in Quincy, but it sounded weird.
Perhaps that letter was only Afficus’s fantasies?
Quincy took her answer halfheartedly. The lycan Alpha not being her type didn’t mean she didn’t like him. He obviously had an effect on her if she felt guilty.
But the effect wasn’t love yet so could still be managed, for the sake of Green Valleys Kingdom built by her grandfather who he respected.
A lycan shouldn’t rule Green Valleys after killing the former King, only because he married the daughter.
"I’d protect you from him, don’t worry. I’d make sure you don’t return those feelings. It’d cause a lot of problems if you do." He said, and left to Zeldris.
Laurel kept her eyes on the ground, thinking of what he said. Accepting Stefan would cause problems? Truly.
Maybe the part of her that still pushed her mate away was the reasonable part that knew that Green Valleys would never accept a Lycan as their Princess’s husband.
Also Stefan was a lycan Alpha, their union will mean he’d keep Green Valleys as a pack under him and Damancas’s alliance will be gone. She couldn’t risk that.
She fought hard to give Green Valleys a bit independence so she couldn’t take it away from them again.
"Elma," she called her wolf when she noticed the sadness brewing inside of her. "It’s the truth, let’s accept that."
Most importantly will be that Laurel didn’t want her mate enough to defy fate and odds for him. They should stay away forever and live in peace.
"Laurel?"
Her ears perked up when she heard his voice, she exhaled and looked up with a neutral expression on her face. "Yes, Alpha?"
Stefan wondered why she stood there with a white haired young girl, and not coming up or anything. He leaned on the balcony. "Aren’t you tired? Come up."
Laurel looked away. Why did he speak so softly while she’s trying to convince herself that they couldn’t work?
She didn’t miss him, or did she? What was to miss? Did their last conversation were he said he wanted her, did it confuse her? That’s obviously a lie.
But Quincy noticed something right? He had mentioned ’Stefan’s feelings’ and about not returning them.
Did her mate finally feel something for her? She turned to Quincy to help her advert this.
The boy was busy with Zeldris. She clicked her tongue, since when did she need help to deny him? "No, thanks."
Her mate totally ignored her feelings in the beginning so she’d give him a taste of what that felt like. Green Valleys’ safety and her happiness were her only goals.
