Chapter 341: Irritated
Chapter Three Hundred-Forty-One – Irritated
The three; Princess Laurel, Quincy and Zeldris stood outside the barrier, eating fish from a stick. Quincy taught them how to prepare it with fire and salt.
He must’ve really come from a tribe which lived like hermits. Laurel guessed that must be why clothes were only a formality to him.
She watched as he and Zeldris bonded over travelling and being fugitives many times.
Laurel didn’t know that before her knight became a slave to the elders, he lived like a fugitive while escaping the Lycans that killed the entourage.
She had to swallow down the questions she had for Quincy when Zeldris seemed to open up to him quite easily, it’d be good for him to have someone like that.
The barrier began pulsating and they faced it. Quincy already heard how powerful the witch that initiated the barrier was so he hid behind Zeldris instinctively.
The barrier fell and Thales stood behind it, narrowing his eyes at Zeldris curiously. "How did you get out?"
"Took some effort but they are some that are immune to magic." Zeldris shrugged, then pointed at Quincy behind him. "Even this one too. It happens."
Thales looked behind Zeldris and noticed the white haired girl, their scent was definitely the one he noticed that made him activate the barrier before he passed out.
Yet the princess he tried to protect was out the barrier because she could move inside it? Thales scoffed, feeling irritated and helpless.
He just discovered from Sigma’s case, that most could be allergic to magic but he didn’t expect to meet those that it’d have little effect on. "Come out here."
Quincy knew he was being spoken to but he didn’t budge, next he felt his body being lifted off the ground and floating towards the powerful witch.
Thales glared at the stranger when they were directly in front of him. "Who sent you to do this! You’re from the West, aren’t you! Did you assume this place was Lunaria!"
Laurel and Zeldris didn’t understand the questions asked but were stunned on how he could discover that the boy was from the west.
It made Laurel wonder if the West and Lunaria had deals. Quincy’s claws left their place and Thales threw him back on impulse and he fell down harshly from the height.
"Quincy!" Laurel left the ground she sat, and frowned at Thales. "Could you be gentle? He didn’t eat us, did he?"
Thales froze then exhaled, looking down. His body was really active after the sudden attack from King Asher.
He felt irritated because he suffered another unsuspecting attack later and fell for it. He couldn’t even protect anyone if the stranger had been dangerous.
"So who is he?" he realized his actual gender when the Princess pointed it out. "After making us fall asleep, what did he do and really, how are you out here?"
Zeldris paused, thinking of answers to Thales’ questions carefully as he could see Thales wasn’t in the best mood.
He gave a little rundown of how Quincy was from the Princess’ grandfather tribe and how an Afficus had sent them a letter to take care of the boy.
On hearing Afficus, Thales became very interested in the young man because he might have connections to the Princess’ astonishing tribe.
He turned to the young man who stayed sprawled on the ground even if he knew he didn’t hit him so hard. "Did you see his wolf fur color?" he asked Zeldris.
The Knight shook his head. He turned to the carriages when he heard groaning sounds. Delta Sigma had awoken, he signaled to Thales. "The sick boy..."
Thales looked away from Quincy and returned to the carriages. "Well, let’s continue our journey back even if some of us are unconscious..."
He used a spell to bring awaken the riders, it’d only last for two hours before they’d feel sleepy again but by then, they were safe at Green Valleys and High Mountains.
Laurel pulled Quincy towards the carriage and Thales began getting worried as the boy was pulled on the ground like a dead man.
But the Princess would say if he died, right?
"Could you relocate Prince Sorren to the carriage were Saki and Sigma are at?" Laurel asked Zeldris. "They should stop at High Mountains."
Her knight left where he sat and bowed. That’d mean he will have to stay in the carriage and it excited him after being away from her side for so long.
Thales rose to the air and hung up there, "I’d make sure we don’t have any other stops or casualties on the way..."
Laurel nodded as everyone made themselves useful. She looked down at Quincy still playing dead to avoid getting beaten by Thales.
She noticed his carriage at the side where the cage had been. Did he come riding that or had he been captured in it and came this far?
"I’d leave it here in case I don’t like Green Valleys and need to escape." Quincy said when he noticed where her eyes were at. He left the ground.
"You are not lonely, I take it back. I assumed those people in the carriage with you are just workers but you speak with that informally, don’t you?"
Laurel felt called out for her informal way of addressing her officials when she’s a princess but since it was seen in a positive light, she slowly nodded.
Before, very few people treated her like a person and only cared to abuse her physically or verbally as much as they could, the few who treated her well, she quickly formed a friendship with them and felt better speaking informally.
She was barely a princess to her father so why should she be treated as one and gain an uptight way of communication? "I can speak formally but this feels right."
They both packed the bags Quincy had in his carriage and got into the first carriage. Sorren had been taken to the second one with Sigma and Saki.
Zeldris joined the princess and Quincy in the first carriage and continued his conversation with Quincy.
"Onwards." Thales ordered the half asleep riders, they began moving even faster than normal.
