Chapter 327: Princess of Damancas

Chapter Three Hundred-Twenty-Seven – Princess of Damancas

Laurel snickered at the thought Sorren tripped and fell, while moving past a dark hallway. She couldn’t see perfectly but her wolf vision helped her see obstacles.

That lycan couldn’t even do basic things that other lycans could do, she shook her head in disappointment.

She cornered and her legs slid over and she crashed down. She blinked, not believing her eyes and body felt too limp to do anything, even to get back up.

Her head must have split open due to the force but she was sure that she didn’t step on anything and there was nothing on the floor.

She felt for the ground and felt something cold, too cold to be the normal temperature. She tried to get up but couldn’t and her feet felt like it’d slide again if she tried standing up.

Saki yelled from her room. "Laurel, was that you?" she rushed to her, holding a candle stick. "Are you okay?"

Laurel felt embarrassed to be seen on the ground but she accepted her fate and laid there motionless. She caught Sorren’s scent again. "Sorren, are you—"

Her body was pulled up and she felt herself slam to his body and crash on the wall. "What are you..."

Then she noticed she could stand on her own again and he released her. "Oh, thank you." She found her balance again.

Sorren fell back to the ground, rubbing his head while glaring at the spot he fell at. "This is Nero’s work. He used an assassin’s adhesive on the ground to trap intruders."

Laurel’s lips parted as she nodded, looking at the ground, even if she couldn’t see any difference between the tiles on the ground and in and her room’s.

That Nero really hated her if he set something like that in front of her room. Only powerful people would break from that thing, did he want her to stay there forever?

"Laurel?" Saki called, running towards her. She had paused when she heard Laurel suddenly speak to herself and then the sounds of getting up came.

"Wait! Stop!" Laurel yelled, trying to protect her from meeting her fate. She didn’t know how wide Nero applied the adhesive so she used the position she stood at that’s safe. "Teleport to where I stand now."

Saki was just about to turn the corner, but she paused and nodded even if Laurel couldn’t see her.

She knew where Laurel would be since she used to patrol the hallway with Nene so she teleported to her side.

Sorren stared at the lady that appeared from nowhere, he got worried when she stared back. Appearing like that and Laurel telling her to teleport, she’d be a witch.

That wasn’t a sight he expected to find at High Moon Kingdom and he had questions. She was also a werewolf. Didn’t the King know she’s here? Or was she here by the King’s orders? The last would be more troubling than the first.

Once again he had met Laurel with a weird person at High Moon Kingdom, she should really watch the people she stayed with. He noticed he was being stared at and met the gaze of the witch.

Saki took a step back and tried to stop herself from bowing but her head already lowered. Laurel glanced from she to Sorren, why did Saki suddenly get tensed?

"Um... this is Prince Sorren, the one you sent the letters too..." she tried to explain but Saki glared at her.

"Th-That’s sort of rude..." Saki stared at Sorren. "Wait... are you really a male? Prince Sorren?"

Sorren sighed, and looked for the nearest place to rest at. Laurel chuckled and pulled Saki with her as she returned to the room they left.

"Why are you frozen? Did he look like a female...?"

She really didn’t understand why people saw Sorren and immediately assumed that he was female. She had met him in a dark cell but could still tell he was a male.

"He is the Damancas’ Princess I met." Saki said with a small voice, she noticed the Princess dropped her hand while chuckling. "He really looked familiar."

Laurel tried to stop laughing when she saw Saki looked offended. How could Sorren look like a Damancas princess when Damancas didn’t have a princess?

"The Queen only had boys though. So what Princess do you speak of?" Laurel shook her head and went into the room. "Or do you mean one married to a Prince?"

Laurel tilted her head. Why would she think a princess married to a Prince will sacrifice herself to be here?

Saki stood there, rethinking everything. "S-Sarah... does he know a lady named Sarah? Would you know?"

Laurel paused her way to the room. She shouldn’t, but she glued the name to her mind as the one who killed her mother. "His mother." Her tone changed as she answered.

Saki’s eyes expanded and she hurried into the room, shaking her head. She brushed past Laurel slightly and Laurel only shook a bit before regaining her balance.

The name ’Sarah’ couldn’t be her favorite name. There was little she could do with those emotions now. A lot had happened and while she hadn’t let go, there were some she had to forget.

Perhaps why it hurt more was that, unlike her father, her mother had cared for her and tried saving her, only to be killed recklessly while she’s innocent.

Laurel slapped her face, snapping herself from those thoughts. "It had already happened. That’s what started all this anyway so I better start taking it behind me."

She entered the room and found Saki bowed flatly to Sorren with Sorren looking offended. Having a stranger and witch behaving this close wasn’t calming at all.

He pointed at the lady on her knees, and looked at Laurel. "She’s another slightly deranged girl you saved, isn’t she?"

Laurel was stunned to find Saki in that position but she frowned at Sorren’s words. Did he mean the other deranged girl was Bebe?

"Your mother... your mother saved my life and gave me a reason to live..." Saki explained, with sobs. "I had messed up but I’d always remember."

Sorren pointing finger dropped. His mother? The Queen of Damancas had recognized him by his resemblance to her. "I didn’t think I looked that much like her..."
