Chapter 326: Feed Me

Chapter Three Hundred-Twenty-Six – Feed Me

The King walked Prince Sorren and Sigma towards the rooms. Sigma clung unto Sorren as the halls just kept showing up empty no matter where they passed.

He wasn’t used to this because Alpha Stefan’s quarters always had warriors moving about it and maids strolled around his study, cleaning and others.

"This King is more freakish than I thought." He mumbled when they reached the rooms and not even a maid came to welcome them.

Did the King use all of them for his lab work? That’s probable, wasn’t it? Did that mean he’d use he and Prince Sorren? Sigma didn’t know how far that King could go.

After all, for some reasons, he had caused problems with Lunaria, probably when they realized he used to kidnap werewolves and use for experimentations.

"Is there no maid to handle affairs?" Sorren asked, breaking Sigma thought process. "Where did they all go?"

He wanted to rephrase with "what did you do with them?’ but decided not to since the maids would be lycans and he didn’t touch lycans.

Also with the King’s behavior with Sigma, Sorren began to think he might’ve more heart than he thought. After all, the loss of his mother turned him to the monster bothering them now.

"They help at the lab now. Also, I don’t feel comfortable with so many boring people around me." Asher replied, tossing the key to Sigma.

That was the only time Sorren agreed with him, on hating boring people. He caught the key tossed at Sigma because the boy wasn’t concentrating.

"In that case, excuse us." Sorren made a quick bow and pulled Sigma with him. They didn’t have to stay for long so they might need to leave by tomorrow.

Before that, he needed to feed Sigma. He turned to him and he seemed to be feeling dizzy and Sorren couldn’t help but smile.

If he knew the King would be living a minimalist life, he’d have listened and fed Sigma before coming in. "Nero!"

The assassin paused on being called so firmly by a deep voice. His shoulders slumped when he saw it was Prince Sorren. His voice didn’t match his face. "What is it—"

Sigma’s hand was given to him and Nero held it, while staring at the boy questioningly. "What should I do?"

"Feed him. Tell me the cost when you return." Sorren ordered and left, looking for the room Laurel should be in.

Nero waved his hand over Sigma’s face but his eyes didn’t move. Was the boy so hungry that his senses left him? He sighed and pulled the boy towards the kitchen.

"How can he eat outside when he came to visit the King?" Nero sighed. They really needed the maids back to the Palace or guests would’ve a bad thought of the King still.

The night reached its darkest and everywhere was lit with candles. To add to it’s glory, the wind blew gently in the darkness and the moon casted a soft light on all below.

Laurel stayed by the window, enjoying the night and humming to herself. It’d have been a perfect night to fulfill her promise to the twins and take them to see trees.

She heard a knock on the door and sped to it. She only hit the doorknob as Saki appeared inside the room. It was their usual way to make it seem like she entered.

And when she’d leave, she could just teleport and no one would know she left. Laurel did this since Saki became in charge of staying in her room to ensure she didn’t leave.

Nero stayed at the entrance more often.

"Guess what?" Saki had an offended expression. She fell on the bed forcefully, while remembering what she saw. "I am not completely sure, but a Princess is here."

A princess? Laurel raised a brow and leaned on the door. Did she mean the King had another hostage he kept lock in a room, like her? "Do you know from where?"

Saki bit her lower lips, as if she wanted to hide that information but she exhaled, running her hands through her hair. "I can’t keep being loyal to him, so Damancas!"

Laurel didn’t know what she meant. Was the Princess from Damancas? She sighed. Saki always said things halfway and left her asking all the questions.

But if there’s a Princess from Damancas here, that’s a big thing, wasn’t it? She’s probably here to help destroy the lab better, but wouldn’t it be dangerous for her?

King Asher would be alert after his lab got destroyed the first time so it’d be hard to get him to believe she only came for anything she lied about.

Also the King didn’t seem like someone that invited Princesses to his palace. Or did he start after her? That worried her. "Are you sure of what you saw, Saki?"

Saki’s eyes stared at nothing in the distance. She nodded firmly. "There’s no way she’s that young anymore so that’s definitely her daughter. I know what I saw."

Even if she saw the Princess from a distance, she knew she was still the one, the child to her benefactor. "We’d have to save her, I don’t think she’d want to stay here."

Laurel studied Saki’s expression before sighing. She couldn’t leave till Sorren reached and convince the King to stop Lunaria from starting a war.

She tried to go back to the window when she heard someone curse. She paused. The halls were mostly empty so she could hear something from far away.

Saki usually appeared in front of her door so she didn’t hear her. She turned to the witch to know if she heard that and Saki nodded, they both went towards the door.

"The hallway is freaking dark so someone could easily trip and die there." The witch went towards the door.

Laurel quickly opened it and went out, the hallway was truly dark but what caught her attention was the familiar scent. "What’s that one doing here?" she sighed.

Could he had fallen? She snickered, walking towards the position she heard the fall. However, her legs stepped on something and she found herself crashing down.
