Chapter Three Hundred-Twenty-Four – Entrance
(High Moon Kingdom)
Sorren’s carriage arrived at the gates of High Moon Kingdom and drove towards the warriors that’d clear it.
They rushed to the carriage coming in at night and Sorren looked away to let Sigma handle it. He didn’t want to be stared at passionately by a man.
Sigma showed them their seal from Black Claws and while it confused the High Moon Kingdom warriors that expected a seal of the King, they accepter their entry.
At that moment, Sorren looked out to see if Sigma handled them it and locked eyes with one of them who went backwards.
"An-Another pretty lady for the King—"
The other warriors began to gather, murmuring with themselves and their tone was thick with jealousy.
"Prince Sorren isn’t a lady!" Sigma retorted, with a warning tone. "He doesn’t like that. Let us in already."
The Warrior frowned at being scolded but his frown vanished when he locked eyes with Prince Sorren again. "That’s a poor way to deny the Princess."
Sorren felt defeated that he still assumed it was a princess being hidden, and it annoyed him that he thought he was going to that stupid King Asher.
The carriage moved so he sent those thoughts behind him, he only needed to get Laurel out of there and think of how to handle the declaration of war from Lunaria.
It was evening so he decided to stop at the palace instead of looking for a place to stay. The King wouldn’t want to lock him up and might not want him staying long.
"Sigma, while I talk to the King, I want you to look for Bebe and the Knight for me." He touched the boy’s head. "Don’t get lost and if you think you might just return to me."
Sigma nodded absentmindedly, looking at the places they passed. He hadn’t been this far into High Moon before and usually stopped and left in a hurry while delivering letters.
The building reminded him of colorful poles and somehow the people all seemed to be happy, wearing smiles. They were either truly happy or his brain played tricks on him.
"We should eat first." He suddenly said when he sighted a restaurant and inhaled the sweet aroma coming from it.
Sorren smiled, still rubbing his head. But they couldn’t make that detour since it’s already night. "There will be better meals at the King’s palace." He assured.
The carriage stopped at the entrance and Sorren stepped down. He sighted Nero at the entrance, and saw his eyes move to Sigma that jumped down the carriage.
"I don’t need an introduction but this is the Delta of Black Claws Pack. The King made time, didn’t he?" he asked.
Nero internally sighed. He could see why the King didn’t like the Prince coming close, even Nero couldn’t look away and he totally forget about him being a man.
Also the Prince spoke like the King was another royalty to respect. Nero thought it was entitled but he liked it.
The King had been upsetting he and his sister recently so he hoped to use this random Prince to get revenge. "The King wasn’t very excited to know you’re coming."
He said to hurt the Prince’s feelings so that he’d be more defensive towards the King and frustrate him, but Nero frowned when Prince Sorren smiled instead.
"That’s beautiful. Let’s go, Sigma, while he’s temper is still hot." He climbed the steps and paused, told the carriage to leave and continued up the stairs. "Thanks, Nero."
Nero made an ’hmm’ sound even if he felt dazed. One, dazed that the Prince looked happy to know the King didn’t want him. And two, dazed by how pretty a man can look when smiling.
He slapped his cheeks and watched Sorren leave. "This Prince is dangerous." He didn’t know how the King would react but it’d be so wrong if the King gets attracted to a pretty man instead of Princess Laurel.
For one, all his sister’s plans will be in vain and it’d make the Kingdom in turmoil. He stopped his thoughts and sighed.
"I’m taking it too far. The King hates him."
He looked away from them and focused on waiting for more guests, especially the one the King had been expecting since a week ago. That’s the major reason he had been staying at the door and the guards were away.
Sigma looked around the palace but stopped at a huge painting that looked sort of scary to look at. He felt the Prince’s hand on his head again.
"I’m okay, you touch me a lot." but he didn’t move away."
Sorren frowned. Since when did he start complaining? He looked around and turned back to Nero at the entrance. No one tried to usher them to the King.
The King really didn’t want them here. "And that’s exactly why I came." Sorren marched to the biggest room.
On getting close, he caught the King’s scent and he was alone. He turned to Sigma and wondered if he should make him go look for Bebe now.
Sorren wanted to speak of a troubling matter and didn’t want Sigma to be scared by it. Before he could tell Sigma to leave, the door opened.
King Asher stood behind the door, keeping his eyes on Sigma and having a small smile. "You brought a servant with you today, Prince Sorren."
He knew Sigma was a Delta but he obviously had deep loyalty to Prince Sorren that could make him a servant, in King Asher’s books.
He widened the door so they’d come in, he noticed Prince Sorren’s scoff and was pleased to know he annoyed him.
Sigma looked around the King’s study, wondering why it was very different from Alpha Stefan’s. The young man tried to hide his awe but felt the place was too impressive to be just a study.
A study was mainly meant for checking notes and making appointments with the Alpha. Why did the King’s own look like a flashy bedroom? He stared at the big bed in it.
"So what do I owe the displeasure of you being here?" The King asked, finally looking at Sorren. "I’m being punished by your sudden visit, I’d let you know."
Sorren felt better that the King didn’t hide his displeasure with him, he didn’t know how he knew but he just knew after their last interaction.
"You are the one displeasing me, King Asher." He folded his arms. "Do you want more punishment?"
