Chapter 313: Brags

Chapter Three Hundred-Thirteen – Brags

To Sorren, he nearly got kidnapped. Most of the riders he met always wanted to kidnap him, for obvious reasons.

He was the beautiful Prince of Black Claws Kingdom and younger brother to the Alpha of three packs.

"Just like you did, that rider must’ve caught my scent." Sorren said, and watched Stefan and Sigma nod.

Stefan hadn’t thought of it, he regretted not giving the rider a knock on the head. "And you, falling asleep like that."

The Prince ran his hands through his hair as he remembered. "I suffered greatly so I got tired."

There was not ounce of pity on their faces and Sorren frowned. He added. "I met the Queen of Damancas and we had a little chat."

Stefan alarmed. "The Queen of Damancas Kingdom?"

Sigma turned from Sorren to the Alpha. Could anyone just see the Queen of Damancas? Especially a Lycan?

Sorren loved the reactions, he continued. "Yes, and I’m not trying to brag but it felt quite uncomfortable."

The Alpha nodded. "Yes, you’re definitely not bragging."

Even if he wouldn’t know how it felt, but he could imagine having to talk to a Queen when they were supposed to be at loggerheads with each other.

"You weren’t supposed to join Chris to see the King and Queen. How did you get permission to?" Stefan asked.

A smirk came to Sorren’s lips, he leaned towards them. "Believe it or not but I sat in my carriage when she came to me thinking I was a lady."

Stefan’s jaw fell. There’s no way the Queen of Damancas only came to him because of his looks!

But his mind brought back what Sir Darren once said.

That it’d be a tad bit better if their representative was a pretty lady or cute little girl, if not, Chris should dress in bright adorable clothes. To win the Queen’s favor.

Sorren’s soft features actually brought him a connection with the Queen. Stefan kept asking more questions and Sorren answered them, while making himself the prize.

"Even a Prince was in your carriage?" Stefan sighed. Wouldn’t it be a bit too cramped for all of them? "So, what did the Queen want to talk about?"

Sorren’s proud smirk fell, he turned to Sigma that gave up on his brags and fell asleep on the couch. "It’s disturbing."

Stefan’s expression changed. Of course, the Queen of Damancas wouldn’t be friendly when she learned who he was. "You didn’t get hurt, right? Humiliated?"

Sorren realized he misunderstood and shook his head "No, not in that way. She told me about my mother and her sister. Do you remember?"

Stefan relaxed on the couch, trying to get something. The second Luna used to talk about being an Alpha’s daughter. She had mentioned a sister but few times.

"Did she and her sister have a bad relationship? Did you meet her?" Stefan knew Sorren would reach out because that’d be another family member he had.

He’d truly like that for his younger brother because, unlike Stefan whose mother formed a community of family for herself, Sorren’s mother had been a foreigner.

She had friends but not enough to call family or her community, mostly because of the circumstances that brought her into the palace.

"The lady is dead and is survived by one son, Zena. I think the Queen recently met the boy." Sorren rubbed his chin. "I feel it’s related to what Laurel asked about."

Stefan’s eyes widened. Laurel had asked about Sorren’s mother visiting a witch, so could that witch be the aunt?

"I did some research and found out that the servitude the Queen spoke about when referring to the aunt, was using her healing magic. The aunt had been a witch."

Sorren gulped down nothing. During those few days at Damancas, he searched for clues and histories behind the things that interested him and he found quite a lot.

Because of his pleasing face, many willing told him the stories he wanted to hear. He couldn’t get much about his mother and aunt, but he did for him – Thales.

"You shouldn’t be too surprised." Stefan broke the silence. If that’s what he termed disturbing, then it wasn’t as bad. "Maybe after the destruction of her pack, the little sister learnt magic to protect herself."

Stefan also thought that the second Luna’s reason for joining with a Lycan King was for protection.

She had trained heavily to defend herself which wasn’t what many Lunas did since they had good backing. She was also highly suspecting and barely interacted.

Sorren shared the same thoughts. His mother had always been on edge about someone harming him and her and that’s what led to the sudden death of Laurel’s mother.

He didn’t know what could’ve been after her so he preferred keeping a low profile till he’d figured it out.

"Well, Laurel need to tell me about the boy. I feel like I owe him since it sounds like my mother abandoned her young sister." Sorren shrugged.

Stefan bent down to see his face clearly. "Are you really feeling guilt? You?" he joked, but it surprised him that Sorren actually looked forward to someone.

The Alpha helped Sigma to his room were he could rest till the next day. He had breakfast with Sorren before feeling like falling asleep as well.

"I will bring back Laurel."

Stefan’s droopy eyes shot open. He turned to his younger brother writing on a table. He left the couch he laid on.

"King Asher will not be interested in keeping me for long, unlike with you, so I’m the best candidate to go. As I leave, I’d return with her. He wouldn’t say no." Sorren noted.

The older brother laid back on the carriage, thinking about it. He didn’t want his younger brother to get stuck there too. "King Asher really has no interest in you?"

Sorren cringed at the wording, but he nodded. "Yes." Even if the King grew an ’interest’ because he’s bored, Sorren knew how to make the interest falter.
