Chapter 289: Walk Her
Chapter Two Hundred-Eighty-Nine – Walk Her
(At Damancas)
Prince Kiad brushed his hair back and oiled his lips before wiping them with a soft cloth. His lips still appeared soft and bright pink, he smiled.
The Princess Laurel would be coming today, and for a while now, making her his had been almost an obsession of his after what Darren had told him.
She felt like a challenge that he must conquer with all his princely charms. Which lady could resist him? None!
There was a knock on the door and he hummed as he opened it. A lady dressed in a small dress that revealed half of her breasts hugged him, having a pouty expression.
"Prince Kiad, it’s been a while you called for me." She whispered in his ears seductively. She noticed he stiffened and she smirked, glad that she still had an effect on him.
The other ladies belonging to the Prince had begun drifting to his brothers as Prince Kiad had not called for them for weeks, which was very unlike him.
As she ran her hand through his chest gently, he held her hand. The suddenness stunned the lady but she smiled, assuming he wanted to be rough with her.
"I didn’t call for you yet you came, do you want to lose a limb?" The Prince’s tone was acidic.
The lady froze and she attempted to take her hand from his hold but his grip was strong. "I-I’m sorry, I thought... I thought..." she was pushed back.
Prince Kiad walked out of his room and locked her in. He ignored her pounding on the door and walked away.
He also knew something was wrong with him. All he wanted was that Princess Laurel and seeing her on his bed, those other cheap ladies didn’t interest him.
But today, he’d conquer the Princess and have a twosome with the desperate lady in his room.
A satisfied smile came to his face as he imagined it, as if he had already achieved it. He reached the royal hall and looked up at the trails of stairs.
He wondered if he should wait up there for the Princess, or stay down and walk up with her. He decided to wait down and walk her up, then he could speak with her.
He didn’t understand why he felt excited to meet her when she was just a tad bit less cheaper than the lady in his room. After all, she’s a captive Princess.
He sighted two carriages riding slowly towards the stairs, he adjusted his clothes and kept a relaxed smile on his face. The first carriage stopped in front of him.
Laurel’s eyes couldn’t leave the castle at the top of the stairs, she even forgot to get down the carriage even if she was close to the door.
Gold and shiny stones were all she could see for miles and miles away. White marbles, chunks of rubies, name it. Didn’t the brightness blind the people of Damancas?
She regained her composure when she caught a familiar scent outside the carriage. She adjusted her hair and dress and stepped down.
"Prince Kiad." She made a short bow.
Coincidentally, Prince Kiad stretched his hand to her but it hit her lowered head. The Princess quickly held her head, glaring at him.
Zeldris jumped down from the carriage and pulled the Princess away. "Um... you are?"
He could tell the man was a Prince from his jewelry, clothes and aura, but from his perspective, why did this Prince just hit the Princess? Or did Damancas get a new way of greeting while he was a slave?
Prince Kiad drew back his hand, that wasn’t his intention at all. He smiled. "Sorry, here, I’d help you up—"
"It’s fine." Laurel stepped forward and looked at the high stairs. It felt exciting to climb so she looked forward to it.
The Prince came in front of her again, stretching his hand. "We should hurry, the King and Queen awaits."
Laurel frowned and so did Zeldris. He could tell this Prince only wanted to touch the Princess’s hand that was soft and smooth.
It annoyed Zeldris but he was willing to let it go, so not to affect the Princess’ image. He assumed that the Princess was meeting this Prince for the first time.
Laurel didn’t want to accidentally disrespect a culture, if that’s what it was so she placed her hand on his. "Um... sure. Let’s—"
Prince Kiad quickly dropped his hand, biting his lower lips. Who was that? He tried to look behind him. From the corner of his eyes, he sighted a child looking at him.
A red-haired richly dressed boy with two gorgeous maidens by his side. Prince Kiad breathed in and out.
Did that heavy glare come from that boy?
"Zeldris, don’t keep the Princess waiting. Walk her up quickly." Beta Ferdinand marched towards the Knight.
Zeldris held unto the Princess and they walked ahead.
The Beta stopped by Prince Kiad. The Prince took a step away from him, while wondering why he felt scared of a seemingly harmless child.
"Are you the one sent to walk the Princess?" Ferdinand asked with a raised brow. "You should’ve introduced yourself with a bow first. Don’t just try to grab her."
Prince Kiad couldn’t find the tongue to say that he was a Prince. The feeling crushed him. Didn’t he look like a Prince? "S-Sorry." He hated himself immediately.
Why did he apologize?
Then he noticed his right earring glow brightly. There was a witch in their midst. He turned to the carriage.
Thales jumped down, adjusting his clothes that wrinkled a bit. He looked around the place, it’s been a while.
He noticed the eyes on him. "Ah, the Prince Kiad!" he made a deep bow. "Hail the Prince."
A small sense of pride mended Prince Kiad’s injured heart. He smiled, and gestured for Thales to rise.
The Beta turned to the witch and gave him a sidelong glance which looked like he asked, ’are you okay?’
When he realized who Thales called Prince, the Beta stared at Kiad before walking away.
The Prince expected more reaction, or an apology but he didn’t open his mouth to ask for one. He knew very well the expression on that boy’s face.
It was disappointment, and Kiad knew that because his father looked at him that way most of the times.
