Her Vengeful Lycan Alpha -
Chapter 281: Dislike
Chapter 281: Dislike
Chapter Two Hundred-Eighty-One – Dislike
Thales didn’t know enough of the Princess’ wolf to tell anyone, apart from what he read and the little talk he once had with King Titus before his death.
He turned to the door and then to Sorren. It had begun to bother him why the Alpha eavesdropped. He didn’t speak of anything suspicious so why not just come in?
Sorren noticed his eyes movement and realized he had noticed Stefan’s presence. He wondered if he concealed any information because of the presence.
"The Princess’ wolf, it isn’t related to magic, is it?"
Sorren’s question snapped Thales from thinking about the last talk he had with the Princess’ father, he shook his head. "Not at all. It’s totally werewolf and I’m only curious."
Something about her wolf being different and making a witch curious? Outside the door, Stefan couldn’t help but remember the bland threats those Elders gave.
The Princess would bring back a certain generation of werewolves and it had been marked on her wolf already.
So far, Laurel hadn’t done anything different from any werewolf despite her unique wolf color. Stefan didn’t want to think about more complexities so he let it slide.
He pushed the door opened, keeping his eyes on the stunned Thales. There was silence in the room, before Sorren cleared his throat.
"You two can wait at the table, I’d get tea."
Stefan moved aside for Sorren to walk out but his eyes never left Thales. The witch grew nervous. He was sure this was his first meeting with the Alpha yet it felt intense.
He realized and left his seat, he made a deep bow. "My apologies. Good morning and nice to meet you, Alpha."
Thales assumed that the Alpha was particular about manners, so even if it wasn’t in witches’ manner to bow to anyone that’s not their King or Queen, he bowed anyway.
Stefan made an ’hmm’ sound as response.
A sense of relief washed over Thales when he finally got a response, he sat down looking pleased.
"Couldn’t you have greeted the Princess after checking in with Sorren?" the Alpha asked, and Thales noticed that his voice sounded sterner than he looked.
This Alpha must have something against him, and it might he beyond being weary of him being a witch.
Whatever it’d be, Thales knew it was wrong so he didn’t appreciate the tone. The Alpha wouldn’t know but he didn’t feel happy being with him either.
His handsome face and position had swayed Lady Zara so all Thales could do was smile and play cool. "My carriage stopped close to Green Valleys. Couldn’t I visit?"
Stefan narrowed his eyes at the witch and when Thales didn’t turn away, he frowned. "The Princess would’ve felt better if she knew first."
Thales groaned, leaving where he sat. So that’s the kind of person the Alpha Lady Zara was crazy about was? He even gatekeeped a captive Princess?!
"The Princess didn’t show displeasure at my visit, Alpha. Rest assured. As a witch under Damancas, it isn’t wrong to visit an ally." Thales tone dripped with slightr irritation.
Behind them, Sorren clapped his hands to get their attention. Where they arguing or what? Why was his brother being defensive even on knowing it’s his friend?
Stefan left the door and sat at the table.
Thales glared at him, before sitting back in the room. Such authority over the Princess’ visitors, didn’t he give her freedom to do as she liked?
They didn’t have a captive-captor relationship, did they? The witch felt intense protective instincts growing in him towards the Princess.
The Princess didn’t even mind his impromptu visit and even prepared a meal for him. She had also met him alone which spoke of her confidence.
This Alpha reminded him of King Asher who dictated for his workers, Thales had more reasons to dislike him.
If the Princess’ reason for asking him to work for her related to the Alpha’s behavior then Thales would willingly strike a fight with the lycan Alpha for her sake.
Sorren handed Thales a cup of tea where he sat, then left the room’s door opened so it’d feel like they were all taking a tea together.
"Do you know of a witch named Ella?"
Thales frowned when the Alpha spoke to him, he didn’t want to answer but he didn’t want to blatantly show his dislike, since it was Sorren’s older brother.
"I heard from Young Master Darren about what she did. Pay her no heed. She was deranged so Damancas will be looking for her now to bring her back." He replied.
Sorren felt cheated from the new information he gave when answering. Before, Thales had said nothing about knowing Darren, even as a Young Master.
Who exactly was that Darren that knew the witches?
Also, Damancas now knew of the witch’s attack on their pack? Couldn’t they use that to make a favor of them?
Stefan hummed, dropping his cup of tea. "Couldn’t you have stayed with Sir Darren then."
Sorren harshly dropped his cup of tea and frowned. Stefan looked away, understanding that he had overstepped.
Thales didn’t expect him to expose his dislike for him so quickly, especially as he’s hiding his. "I sent Sorren a letter saying I’d stop by. It’d be rude to change directions."
Also the Grand Witch Ella will be found soon and will stay at Sir Darren’s place for a while. Thales didn’t have anything to say to his sister so preferred staying away.
Stefan left where he sat, deciding to leave since things seemed to be normal here and he was the only one being out of place.
"I’d take my—"
Someone sped into the room they were in immediately. The force made the opened door of Sorren’s room slam close, Thales slowly left his seat.
This person had a weird flow in their body.
"Sigma! What are you doing here? Have you recovered? Does anywhere hurt? Who let you come out? Wait, are you hungry?"
Thales blinked numerous times, trying to believe the panicked mother rambling was the coolheaded Sorren he just spoke with seconds ago.
