Chapter 277: Not What Was Expected

Chapter Two Hundred-Seventy-Seven – Not What Was Expected

Things really got weird. How could Sorren accept a Young Grand Witch as his friend when he hated witches? Then she remembered that he recently realized that the friend was a witch, yet he invited them to a home of Lycans? He even finished having a showdown with his Elder sister, or didn’t he know this?

Stefan would definitely trip on his own foot if he realized all these details. They were falling fast into a rabbit hole of trouble.

Laurel cleared her throat and asked. "Is that all?" or was something more disturbing coming out of their mouth again?

Escanor shrugged but Jessika stepped forward. "The Young Grand Witch did speak about visiting you as the last descendant of something and that’d be really soon."

Laurel grew pale. He’d be visiting her soon? Why didn’t these Grand witches’ take a hint? No one wanted them around! Was it their brains or wolves they sold out!

Shouldn’t this be the disturbing issue?

"I am the last descendant of what now? I never heard of any special ancestor I had. Are you sure he’s not making things up to infiltrate Green Valleys?"

Escanor shrugged again and Jessika sighed.

Laurel clenched her fists. This Young Grand Witch should be more concerned about visiting his friend, not her, or it’d look like she planned it.

"I’d stay by your side with a magic imbued sword when he comes." Escanor said, after noticing Zeldris wasn’t close. He had noticed him walking the twins around that morning.

Jessika slowly backed away. "I need to prepare a meal that’d leave our guest happy so he’d spare us."

The Princess frowned at that. It’d be better to feed him with something that’d weaken him in case he tried anything funny.

No matter how she tried to get stronger, they were always beings with unimaginable strength forcing themselves on her face. She still didn’t have any skills to maneuver.

"Escanor, you don’t need to stay by my side. I’d see this Young Grand Witch by myself." She decided.

The Delta stared at her with widened eyes. Why will she stay alone with someone that could be potentially dangerous?

Even at Damancas, the Young Grand Witch was said to be mysterious and they could never tell what he thought. "I am offering to stay, your highness—"

"It’s fine. I believe I can handle him." She interrupted. She didn’t want to be quick to put up her defenses, she wasn’t that pathetic yet.

She’s an ally to Damancas so why should a Grand Witch kill her for no reason?

She’d hope on it and get to the bottom of the last descendant, and when he’d confirm she’s not the one, he’d go to Sorren, which will be that Prince’s business.

"Tell the maids not to bother peeking in and inform Jessika that the meal should be here before his arrival."

Escanor slowly stepped back with defeated shoulders. The Princess didn’t want his help at the point when he could really help. He wanted to add something else but left it and walked away.

Laurel exhaled as she was finally alone. She digested the information just thrown at her. The Grand Witch and the Young Grand Witch were siblings.

They could have a good relationship and wreck havoc within Green Valleys and the ones surrounding it.

Even if the Young Grand Witch said that he didn’t hate Lycans and was a friend to Sorren, things could change quickly if his family was involved.

Those thoughts kept Laurel at edge while waiting for his arrival. Her hands stroked Marino’s head as he laid on her body, gluing to her skin because he heard another visitor would be seeing the Princess.

Laurel didn’t want him to be close when the Young Grand Witch would visit but sending him away would confirm that something bad might happen.

She left him with her since his presence also calmed her nerves and he fell asleep slowly. She paused when she caught a different scent outside the door.

She had made sure no maid stood around and the hall and nearby rooms had no one in them. The Young Grand Witch would’ve to tell her what exactly he came for.

"Ah, so we’d be alone." A voice said outside the door.

A bit of Laurel’s defenses fell. That voice didn’t sound mischievous or wicked, it even felt familiar. The door opened and a tall built man walked in carefully.

The Princess noticed he had similar hair texture with the Grand Witch, straight long hair. He gently closed the door behind him and stared at her.

Laurel also noticed that he seemed nervous. That’s not the image she had that kept her at edge, even Marino wasn’t reacting to the visitor’s presence.

He cleared his throat. "Um... I am Thales, Grand Witch to... you know, Damancas... I came to see you, Princess Laurel... I was told we’d be meeting... alone."

Thales rubbed the back of his neck. He didn’t expect to be meeting a pretty Princess like her, all alone.

Lady Zara definitely came first in his heart but such secluded meeting felt like a trap and he couldn’t help but feel nervous.

Also, why did they speak alone? Would he be threatened to do something? Or there’s a secret information she wanted out of him?

Hearing him speak at length, Laurel was sure she had met him before, but she knew she hadn’t seen him anywhere.

Except with Sir Darren, where else will she see a witch to talk to? And this one was a Grand Witch!

"Nice to meet you, Sir Thales. Can I ask if we have met before by any chance?" she tried to speak eloquently.

Thales was stunned by how firm her voice sounded, even if she looked like a slender weak girl. He smiled, they had met before but not in a very honorable manner.

"Ah, while you were unconscious." He looked away. "I had brought you to Lady Zara’s brothel back then at High Moon Kingdom during the Lycan Packs Meeting."

Laurel’s eyes widened as she realized. After she had been attacked by a pervert? That was him?

She never got to meet him, the werewolf and witch she realized at High Moon. He was this young man?
