Chapter 273: His Friend

Chapter Two Hundred-Seventy-Three – His Friend?

Did he really want to know her condition? Would he do it if she told him, no matter what it’d be?

Her lips parted, but closed again. She didn’t have time for this, it occurred to her that that witch still existed within her pack so she needed to flush her out when she’s done.

"I think we should just discuss what you called me for, Alpha." she sat on the chair he had stretched out.

Stefan waited for her to change her mind, before leaving her side and seating opposite her. She still had her lidded emotionless eyes staring at him.

He accepted that’d it take a while to get her to open up to him but he’d keep trying. "General Conrad gave me reports earlier today about a visitor you had."

A knot tied in Laurel’s stomach. The visitor must be the witch. That General must’ve been keeping a close eye on her recently.

Was that why the Warrior sent to her had been violent, because he thought she planned something evil with the witch?

That’s no excuse to treat her that way, even scaring the twins so she’d still get back at him. She fold her arms looking at Stefan.

"Yes, a witch from Damancas. I tried talking about it last time but it might’ve be too insensitive after Sorren’s issue but she’s here to treat Bebe from you know what."

A sense of relief washed over Stefan that his mate didn’t try denying the visitor’s presence or talk over it.

Since she accepted it and gave valid reason for the witch’s presence, then he’d accept that it’s all there was. After all, not all witches had the tendency to be violent.

"Is that so?" he clasped his hands. "Well, I hope the girl gets better and the witch stays calm. I don’t know why but we may be having another magic user here soon."

Laurel raised a brow. From their side? They’d let a magic user come in to see them? "I’m curious. What’ll they do?"

Was it to heal Prince Sorren completely? To add magic into their battle forces? All those were unlikely.

"He’s a friend of Sorren’s who only told him recently that he had magic so Sorren is eager to host him." Stefan said with a tinge of disbelief in his tone.

Laurel could guess why. How’d he assume the magic user was Sorren’s friend unless it was Sorren who said it himself? And that’d be surprising.

Sorren calling someone his friend will be truly shocking.

It made Laurel’s curiosity increase, this magic user might add to Black Claws battle forces in the future, after all some lycans were opening up to magic.

It seemed like the new trend or revolution, after the use of swords and sword art amongst werewolves and lycans which started few decades ago.

"The visitor might stay for a while to monitor Bebe’s health. I hope it’s okay to have two witches around us at the same time." She said to make him worry.

Her plan worked as Stefan looked away, contemplating. He had no idea how strong Sorren’s friend will be, but he wanted to hope he wouldn’t be trouble.

He also trusted Sorren not to invite a troublesome person to the pack, which will be High Mountains for now. Stefan planned to see the visitor by going there.

So all that’s left will be the witch at Green Valleys which Laurel said will stay a while before leaving. Stefan exhaled, having figured it all out.

As long as the two witches didn’t meet to conspire then it should be all good. "I have no problem with that, if it would happened. You should also be alert."

"The witch is from an allied Kingdom and she didn’t threaten my life, unlike my supposed... whatever." Laurel left her seat. "I believe we’re done here."

Stefan studied her, she almost opened up to him before swallowing down her words. As he thought, her life had been threatened.

That warrior must’ve gotten orders from someone and he could guess who. "Don’t worry, as I said, I’d handle that case for you. No need to engage in unnecessary murder."

"So there’s necessary murder?" she asked immediately.

Stefan met her gaze and answered. "There is."

It annoyed Laurel that he still didn’t want to regret the raid, but a part of her admired it. If she really went through with revenge, she’d never regret it.

It will be her decision and she had counted all cons and determined the pros. Of course, that didn’t mean she should accept his unforgiving resolve.

She still had the freedom to do as she liked, including choosing to hate, love or forgive. She turned to the door.

"I’d also like to see Sorren’s friend if possible, they must be really interesting." She used Sorren’s usual word.

Stefan felt it’d be better if she didn’t, for her safety but since she knew Sorren and knew how unfriendly he could be, he wanted her to satiate her curiosity on the friend.

Laurel left the Alpha’s study and a wry smile came to her lips. Whoever this friend with magic would be, it shouldn’t be someone talented enough to know he was half witch.

If Sorren found out like that, it’d be hard to accept it even if he knew his friend wouldn’t lie to him.

Then Laurel paused, if they were already friends, wasn’t it possible that the friend had already told him? Or they didn’t? Sorren still had an attitude towards witches.

She noticed the guards outside, watching her keenly as she left. She balled her fists and they looked away, she eye rolled.

Whatever was happening, she needed to keep protecting Green Valleys and now that General Conrad had reared his head as her new contender, she had to give him the attention he so badly wanted.

"Princess Laurel..."

Laurel waited, while running her hands through her hair and readying to slap her with it if she dared to annoy her more than she already was.

Lady Cara came in front of her, staring at her clothes and light jewelry she had on her body. They were really pretty and looked like the ones actual Princesses wore.

They were different from the types she saw the Princess on when she came. She looked at where she came from, did the Princess dress like that because of the Alpha?

"You are a gold-digger, huh?"

Laurel sighed. She really needed the slap.
