Chapter 268: No Manners
Chapter Two Hundred-Sixty-Eight – No Manners
Zeldris stole glances at the beauty walking with him as they strolled back to the Valkyrie’s quarters, he wondered if the other ladies in the market felt insecure.
He smirked internally. She was still nothing compared to the Princess so he could act normally around her.
They reached the Lead Warrior’s quarters and Alice wrapped her hand around Zeldris’s arm, making his body harden. "Thank you for walking me here!"
Walking her? He chuckled nervously. "I stay here too."
She tilted her head in disbelief. Ella only told her that he stayed at Green Valleys, she never said he was a warrior. "You are not a Green Valleys’ pack member so why?"
Zeldris exhaled, but couldn’t start the story from the beginning due to its length. Also she must’ve come with more important things to do.
He remembers Bebe’s case and wondered if that’s why she’s here, then shouldn’t he send her directly to the Beta’s quarters? But he pushed the door open.
Since she was sent by Sir Darren, she should greet the Princess first before doing anything. He glanced at her and found her eyes still on him.
His cheeks heated up as he entered the hall were the Princess stayed at. "Princess Laurel, you have a guest."
Laurel rose her head up, and gazed at the jade beauty who was nearly joined with her Knight, body and soul. Where did Zeldris find the girls he flirted with?
"My guest or your guest?" Laurel looked back at the mat she was weaving. "It’s hard to tell with that position."
Valkyrie was in the room and could only roll her eyes at Zeldris’s antics, while holding down the mat for Laurel.
Alice let go of Zeldris and smiled. "No need to be so dismissive, Princess. I am only a friend to Zeldris. I am Alice, a guest from Young Master Darren."
Laurel paused, raising a brow in confusion. She shouldn’t be dismissive? Did the lady think she gave a rat’s ass about Zeldris’s love life?
Valkyrie huffed, leaving the ground. Yet another sharp mouthed guest with no basic manners. "When you’re in front of a princess, you bow your pretty head."
Zeldris frowned at Alice when he realized she gave her introduction without that minor courtesy, also why didn’t she add that she was a witch?
Alice stared at the ceiling, feigning ignorance. "Was I? I’d take note next time. It might’ve skipped my—"
"A guest from Sir Darren to do what?" Laurel interrupted, not taking her eyes off what she did. Why did Sir Darren bring a chatty lady when she needed a cure for Bebe?
"I’m a warrior witch." Alice declared with pride, while watching their expressions to feed herself with the shock.
But the Lead Warrior’s fists clenched and Laurel became alert. A witch, a literal actual witch, within Green Valleys?
"Zeldris!"
Before the Knight could turn, his head was slammed to the wall but not hardly. He found Valkyrie seething in front of him, with clenched fists.
"How can you walk such a dangerous person to the Princess? She clearly had bad intentions if she can’t force respect on royalty when she’s a Damancas citizen."
And all Damancas were highly respectful of royalty because of their royal family that’d been on for ages.
Alice grew pale hearing her speak that way even after realizing how true identity. Shouldn’t they be the one to prostrate in front of her?
Zeldris rubbed his head. The problem will be that not all witches sucked up to the royal family in Damancas as they’re the protectors of Damancas.
That could be where Alice’s pride came from, but this place was obviously not Damancas so she could’ve been more respectful. "Do-Don’t worry, Valkyrie. She’s with us."
He quickly moved away from Valkyrie, and pulled Alice towards the Princess. The Princess gave no reaction so Zeldris bent Alice head and bowed as well.
"Extremely sorry for her disrespect and for bringing her in without telling you first. I think she’s here for Bebe."
Valkyrie turned to the lady. If she was here for Bebe, why didn’t she go to the girl immediately then come to say hello to the Princess with the news that Bebe was okay?
"Can you help Bebe?" Laurel asked.
Alice clicked her tongue, not willing to cooperate with a younger girl with royal blood after they didn’t revere her.
She noticed Zeldris nudged her to answer, then she sighed. "I will do my best to remove the magic out of her."
"So you aren’t certain?" Valkyrie walked back to them.
Alice snapped her head to the warrior, her fists balling themselves. Did she even know how complicated that’d be? "You have no clue so shut up!"
Valkyrie stopped her steps, stunned by the outburst.
This guest was truly unhinged to be throwing darts at everyone. Her question had been out of worry for Bebe having to live another day in fear that her consciousness will be stolen.
For the witch to have gone defensive like that, could it be that she wasn’t really sure if she could help Bebe? So how was that different from the question she asked?
Laurel slowly got up from where she sat and Zeldris dragged Alice as he took a step back.
"Will it kill your pride if I send you back and tell Sir Darren that I don’t want a rude baby as witch?" she asked calmly.
Alice’s brows knitted and Zeldris hoped she’d apologize but she pushed him aside and challenged. "Where will you find another witch that’d be willing to help you?"
Valkyrie clutched her sword on her waist and Zeldris panicked, turning from the Lead Warrior to the Princess.
"Do you think many witches are talented enough to undo a Grand Witch’s spell?" Alice scoffed. "Think again. If you want your member to die, then chase me out."
Zeldris was growing irritated with her tone, despite how pretty or talented she was, a little manners will go a long way, especially when dealing with Princess Laurel.
"Then leave." Laurel turned away. "Get out."
