Her Vengeful Lycan Alpha -
Chapter 254: The Whip
Chapter 254: The Whip
Chapter Two Hundred-Fifty-Four – The Whip
Sorren cleared his throat, easing the silence that’s been hanging in the air for a while. The news of the bred lycans cannot be good news because magic was still dangerous.
The new users of the magic were Lunaria’s biological weapon which could mean Lunaria might be planning something chaotic.
Imagine combining lycan’s raw strength and speed with the witches’ magic, it’s destructive. Did Lunaria even think of the possibility of those bred lycans revolt?
"Or are they all like that?" Sorren thought aloud, making Darren turn to him questioningly.
Sorren waved his hand in dismissal, then turned to his brother who was still lost in thoughts. Sorren wondered if he could ask Darren directly if Lunaria planned war?
He might not know but he might too, his identity was still a mystery. "What did Damancas have to say about this?"
Darren knew he might be asking about the King of Damancas but he didn’t want to reveal that he knew the King so personally that they could chat about the issues.
So he generalized. "The people had objections. Some said that magic was exclusively only for werewolves to protect from lycans, so lycans shouldn’t have it."
Sorren mentally face palmed at how simple their thinking was. "That’s all they care about? They should be realistic."
Darren shrugged. Truly, whether or not the magic was used by the bred lycans, the ones using it were the werewolves so there was no power shift still.
"Who suggested this to Lunaria?" Stefan spoke after a while. "Was it Damancas?"
Even if his tone didn’t show it, Darren felt he already blamed Damancas for making the suggestion since they were the closest Kingdom known for their witches.
"The faction in Lunaria bought some witches over to do that. Damancas would definitely not have supported lycans having magic." Darren replied.
Stefan felt relieved. Damancas wouldn’t want lycans having an edge over them. "So those bred lycans don’t have any mission yet? Till Lunaria has war?"
Surely, Lunaria planned these while waiting for something or waiting to begin something. It wasn’t a fun project.
From his questions, Darren understood the lycan Alpha had no idea about his King of Lycans’ practice, and he felt pity for him.
Maybe the Lycan Alpha was more out of touch with the evil in High Moon than he credited him, or that Lycan King knew his practice wouldn’t be accepted by him.
"I can’t speak for Lunaria, but growing magic is hard and just trading your wolf doesn’t mean much if you can’t use the magic, so I respect all who even try." Darren said.
As if magic was needed when one had their lycan gifts like them, Sorren thought. He left where he sat, looking outside. It had grown darker.
"You would mind us passing the night here, would you?"
Darren flashed his palm, "I wouldn’t mind but my household would mind because impromptu guests were their weakness."
The Alpha left his seat, quickly. They shouldn’t be a bother to the household then. "Thank you for hosting us, and you have my gratitude for the medicine. Sorren?"
Sorren grudgingly left where he sat, his eyes swept around the place and noticed the whip. It had obvious indications that it had been used a lot.
For Darren to have fear for it, was it used on him? He looked at Darren who was getting his coat to walk them to the border.
If the whip truly horrified him, he wouldn’t keep it on a nail like a trophy prize, and since it’s not even new then it’s only memories that should make him keep it close.
Or did he keep it close for self defense?
"You have a child around the house, you might want to keep that whip away, so it wouldn’t scare her." Sorren pointed out, hoping for Darren to narrate how he had it.
"Oh, Ella?" Darren smiled. "She even uses it to skip sometimes. She’s not scared of it, don’t worry."
Sorren felt disappointed with how he summarized it, with no other context. Hearing the girl’s name was Ella made Sorren remember the Rolling Stones’ Witch named Ella.
When did Ella become a popular name? He remembered that the girl would be from Damancas like the witch.
The girl he saw was a child, except she had black straight her and oval shaped face, like that of the witch.
Sorren sighed, running his hands through his hair.
He was now overthinking everything, even a little girl he barely knew, all because of a name? He sighed again.
He followed his brother out of the house.
Darren stared at the whip in his house, he didn’t plan for them to see that. Alice must’ve been teaching Ella how to use barrier to stop small objects like whips.
He hurriedly followed his guests before they reached the border. He sighted Finn’s father at the border. "I think they’d be our last guests for today, so you can rest too."
The man shook his head, while leaning on a wall. "I swap duty posts with my son at night. I’d sleep by morning."
Darren was impressed to hear that, he always assumed the man handed everything to Finn and only helped now as Finn might not have fully recovered.
Stefan thanked Darren again before leaving the pack with his brother. He noticed Sorren walking quickly towards Green Valleys. "Are you suddenly scared of the dark?"
"You must be joking." But Sorren’s speed didn’t reduce.
Stefan smiled, he could still see clearly with his wolf’s vision, but for many reasons, Sorren didn’t use his wolf much. "When was the last time you spoke to Wilde?"
Sorren slowed down. "The last time you saw me shift to him. I only speak to him when I need him."
Stefan shook his head. His younger brother also kept his wolf, that should be his closest friend, at arm’s length?
"He seem not to care either, or he’d have forced for control and annoy you a bit." Stefan hastened up as he reached the entrance of Green Valleys.
Sorren shrugged, looking at the moon. "Wilde has no problem being dormant, and I have no problem keeping him dormant. We are perfect for each other."
It didn’t sound like a perfect relationship, but Stefan left it at that. Wilde was the opposite of Sorren, and not in the best ways, so it’s good he stayed dormant.
