Chapter 251: A Witch Involved

Chapter Two Hundred-Fifty-One – A Witch Involved

"Alpha, can I ask what exactly Bebe is doing in prison?"

A sigh left Stefan, he couldn’t avoid the question anymore, even if he didn’t know how to explain what had happened. The girl had obviously been possessed.

"Did you get to see her?" he met Laurel’s intense gaze.

Laurel shook her head. The guard had told her the Alpha kept her there, in restraints. The ’restraints’ had alarmed Laurel and that’s why she calmly asked why.

He’d not restrain Bebe for no just cause so something might’ve gone wrong at Rolling Stones pack. She kept Zeldris there, to make sure Bebe wasn’t maltreated.

"Bebe suddenly attacked Sorren, she didn’t seem like herself and it’d be bad to kill her, so she was knocked out and brought here." Stefan explained.

He added the ’bad to kill her’ part so Laurel would understand the young girl’s life had been at his mercy.

Normally, for whatever reason, attacking an official with the intent to kill meant death, as long as the offender was of a lower rank.

He was sure Green Valleys shared similar rules.

Valkyrie glanced at the Princess, then lowered her head. Bebe attacking Prince Sorren sounded odd as she knew the girl fawned over the Prince.

She had grumbled day and night when she had to leave Prince Sorren’s quarters and didn’t also get to stay with the Princess but a Lisa’s quarters with some strangers.

Something must’ve happened.

"I suppose she’d stay there till you deem fit to release her." Laurel stared at the floor.

The Alpha frowned slightly. Why did she still sound like he wanted to keep the girl there? "If she’s okay, then she’d be released. Sorren is still recovering to go through that."

Laurel gave Sorren a sidelong glance before turning to Valkyrie. "Tell Zeldris to leave the prison. You two can go back to the quarters. I’m coming."

Sorren sat up when Valkyrie left. "You’re not about to argue about that, are you? The girl didn’t die—"

"I am aware." Laurel exhaled. "The people of Rolling Stones didn’t have enough armory to sell and demanded that the armory Black Claws recently ordered would be paid to Green Valleys instead."

Laurel dropped a seal on Stefan’s table. "She said you’d recognize it as the seal of trade she had with you."

"You’ve already visited them?" Sorren laid down back, but kept his head up. "No wonder you took a while before coming to complain about Bebe."

Laurel glared at him then back at Stefan who looked a tad bit confused. "Is there a problem?"

"Why will the order we already made be handled by Green Valleys?"

Laurel took back the seal. "If not, it’d be canceled. As you said, they are weak and can’t work for now. As their new overseer, I wouldn’t want them to suffer."

Sorren chuckled softly. He expected this to happen when Rolling Stones will be given to Laurel. Black Claws will go through a lot to trade with Rolling Stones.

Stefan understood it, and swallowed down his remaining words to avoid pushing her since she might already be agitated that her friend was locked up.

"Prince Sorren, was there a physical change in her when she attacked?" Laurel dropped the seal back with Stefan when he agreed. "Did it look like it was related to magic?"

Sorren remembered her change in eye color.

"Did Bebe have a close prolonged contact with that witch? It seemed she had a breakdown before the madness started."

Close prolonged contact? All Laurel could think of was when the witch had kidnapped Bebe.

They were oblivious to her magic ability then but it’s possible she did something to Bebe that day, that had been the day she awoken.

If she had made Bebe a time bomb waiting to attack Sorren who she had weakened, then it was possible.

"The witch might be involved." She turned to Sorren. "Did you do anything to the witch that made her attack you with unstable magic and do this to Bebe?"

"Unstable magic?"

Laurel hesitated to answer Stefan’s question. Zeldris had said that since the Grand Witch recently awakened, that her magic would be unstable because she’s talented.

Unlike the other witches, it’d take a while for her full magic to return to her, and that’s why the Alpha and his brother had survived meeting her.

Her desperation to kill them, neglecting the fact her magic hadn’t returned fully, had been their only saving grace.

"I read more about this as it’s becoming a problem." She took a step forward. "Would you be against a witch living in this pack though?"

Stefan’s breathing hitched. Why would a witch live at Green Valleys? Do a witch already live at Green Valleys?

"A witch, werewolves with the ability to harness magic, solely for killing lycans?" Sorren raised a brow. "Do you hear yourself?"

Laurel decided to close it there, leaving the two feeling paranoid. "Ignore the question. I’d read more on what could have happened to Bebe and get her help."

Stefan watched her leave, he frowned at his brother. "You know that not all witches learn magic to kill lycans. Don’t go about generalizing."

It felt hilarious to Sorren that his older brother was the one teaching him about witches. He laid on his back.

"Witches don’t get power to have fun, they get power to be strong for revenge. Most times than not, the revenge is against lycans."

"And how many witches had attacked you when you visited Damancas?" Stefan asked, arranging his table.

Sorren looked at the ceiling for a while and smirked. "None, probably because it’d be a crime to do so."

The files in Stefan’s hand nearly dropped as he paused. Did his younger brother mean that he had no sort of secret technique he used to infiltrate Damancas and sightsee?

The witches there didn’t bother him just because? Had his looks been a factor too? "Are you serious?"

"Yes. Honestly, I had forgotten Damancas had witches that were dangerous to lycans when I visited the first time. I realized at the third visit." Sorren shrugged.

Stefan narrowed his eyes at him. That was odd. Did it have anything to do with his mother having trails to Damancas, or it was Sorren’s luck?
