Chapter 250: Madness

Chapter Two Hundred-Fifty – Madness

Sorren watched as the Black Claws Warriors returned to the pack, with sullen expressions.

They had probably anticipated a thrilling battle, and he had planned to give them one, but the people he saw didn’t look like they had the energy.

It’s strange they’re still talkative for such a malnourished bunch, and while he didn’t care about their lives, he knew they’d be greatly reduced if a battle occurred.

Princess Laurel wouldn’t appreciate that.

Sorren searched for his brother, who’d been conversing with the Elder about what to expect from the Green Valleys’ Princess and what not to expect.

Sorren felt he was being worried about the pack stressing Laurel too much. Green Valleys could comfortably provide for these pack. They were very little.

He reached his brother and met the Elder leaving at that point. Sorren quickly snatched his arrow launcher from Stefan’s hand. "You were having fun with it, weren’t you?"

Stefan took it back. "You are not to use it either. Follow the warriors back and rest. I’d return with—"

The two saw Bebe struggling with her head at a corner, there was no one around her so she couldn’t be playing with kids. Sorren sighed, walking towards her.

"Fine, I’d be going back, but taking the girl with—"

He quickly became alert, jumping back and stumbling on Stefan. He frowned at Bebe but his frown released as he saw a disheveled girl with bright yellow eyes.

"Bebe?"

She lunged at him, and he noticed her speed increased, also her steps seemed to be incoherent.

Stefan grabbed her by the hair and flung her back, crashing her to a wall. "What the hell is wrong—"

Sorren held him from charging at her. Something was wrong with girl, couldn’t he see it? She causally attacked in him broad daylight, she’s not herself for that.

Almost immediately, Bebe sprung from where she fell, sprinting to Sorren again.

"For some reasons, it seems I’m her target." Sorren turned his back at her, thinking. Stefan protected him, digging his claws into Bebe’s arms and throwing her back.

Sorren noticed the blood on his older brother’s claws and sighed. This wasn’t good. Could it be magic that made Bebe disoriented like this?

Did she have a close contact with that witch?

If his brother killed the girl, Laurel wouldn’t forgive him. And it would look bad in this pack that Bebe was to be Alpha in someday.

He stepped from Stefan’s back, moving towards a more hidden place. On blinking, he found Bebe in front of him and Stefan had to pull him back to dodge her kick.

She was getting faster, even if he hadn’t started moving seriously. Did he have to move seriously for someone of Bebe’s rank?

"She’s possessed, isn’t she?" He balanced himself due to the force Stefan pulled him back with.

He watched as Stefan brought the girl to her knees, while holding her arms at her back.

Sorren noticed that even if his brother held her arms with one hand, he had some struggle to keep her at a place, which shouldn’t be the case.

"If she’s possessed, and you’re her target, I’d rather kill her and create a story for Laurel." Stefan glared at the girl below him.

Sorren came close to the girl. She didn’t move, apart from trying to pull her arms from Stefan’s hold. Her expression seemed distant and her eyes flashed yellow.

"Bebe?" he bent down in front of her.

Stefan held her with his two arms, not wanting to take any chances since Sorren was close. She stopped moving.

"I should knock her out then." Stefan decided.

Sorren nodded, but before he could add anything else, Bebe’s face was slammed to the ground forcefully by Stefan’s arms.

When he released her, her body was immobile, he nodded satisfactorily. "She’s knocked out—"

He jumped back when he noticed the arrow launcher pointed at him. "Hey, Sorren, has the madness transferred to you too?!"

"I should ask you that! I said knock her out, not kill her!"

Stefan noticed the dent on the ground and the blood gushing from the girl’s head. Maybe he had been too forceful.

He took the arrow launcher in Sorren’s hand, while wondering when his younger brother took it from him. "Let’s return her. We’d keep her in prison, in case she wakes up like this."

Sorren sighed. It ended up badly. How could he return the girl like this to Laurel, when he was the one that let her come along? "Yes, let’s keep her in prison for now."

However, his plan didn’t last for an hour after they returned as he caught Laurel’s scent outside the study.

Sorren glanced at his older brother, who looked tensed for obvious reasons. "Don’t worry, I’d punish the one that told her. I didn’t think it’d reach her so soon."

Stefan rubbed his face, then replied the knock. "Come—"

He didn’t finish when Laurel strolled inside, with Valkyrie. Her hands were folded, but they was no expression on her face other than her raised brows.

"Alpha, Sorren, I assume the visit to Rolling Stones went well since I got a signed contract at my table." Her voice was low, and curious.

Stefan turned to Sorren, but he quickly looked away and returned to his bed so that his older brother would handle everything as always.

Seeing he was all alone in this, Stefan adjusted himself and answered clearly. "The Rolling Stones’ Elder was cooperative with us. She mentioned that the armory production had been on halt due to the weakness of its craftsmen so it’d take a while to resume. She asked that you’d be considerate of the workers and while they rest, you can sell the already finished armory and—"

The Alpha paused when he heard Sorren snicker, then he realized that he rambled while trying to avoid the obvious question.

He cautiously looked up at Laurel, as he had been trying to avoid her gaze, his eyes went down quickly. Her gaze had darkened on him as if she knew what he was doing.

"Alpha, can I ask what exactly Bebe is doing in prison?"
