Chapter 249: Accept

Chapter Two Hundred-Forty-Nine – Accept

Sorren shook his head smiling, and he signaled for the warriors to take position. They acted immediately.

Sorren knew the only reason his older brother reacted was because his mate was insulted, if not, he had been enjoying the banter between Bebe and her people.

The women ran back while the warriors clutched their spears and clubs readily, but as more Black Claws warriors trooped out of their hiding place, their confidence dwindled. They had already been doubled.

Bebe remained where she stood, staring at the conflicted Lead Warrior with pleading eyes. "Please, accept this!"

From the corner of her eyes, she saw the girl who’d be challenging her run into a rundown house.

That belonged to an elder, Bebe hoped that she’d be able to make sense with her, but Black Claws warriors were already ready.

She turned to the Alpha who nodded at her. He still wanted to enjoy her banter. It was better watching it while not being at the receiving end of it.

But if they couldn’t argue without bringing in his mate’s name, then he’d be using the arrow launcher he ceased from Sorren more frequently.

Bebe smiled, with new found hope. "As you can see, there’s not much time... call an Elder to help you decide!"

She crossed the dead body of the warrior, heading towards the women. "There’s no reason for you and your pups to die. You’re not warriors, bound by duty."

The women looked up in realization, they shifted themselves from the warriors protecting them, as if they wanted to be exempted from their death.

An older woman strolled out of the building and Bebe hurried to her. The old woman raised her hand and Bebe stopped. She was the oldest Elder of the pack.

The Elder scanned the setting and linked what the girl that called her had said with what she’s seeing.

"Alpha Ella is a witch?" she asked. "Is there proof?"

Bebe turned to Sorren, then back at the Elder. "She had injured the lycan Prince, and someone confirmed it’s magic—"

"Magic used by Alpha Ella?" the Elder raised her voice. "She had been to many battles, losing some horribly. If she’s a witch all along, that shouldn’t have happened."

The people of Rolling Stones began to whisper amongst themselves, finding sense in what the Elder said.

Bebe hesitated. She couldn’t also place why the witch would stay in their pack, keeping a low profile till recently.

"It’s the truth. I have no reason to accuse her of such."

"But you do." The Elder frowned. "You still accuse her of killing your mother. That’s why you ran away in the first—"

"She did kill my mother!!" Bebe burst out. "And I didn’t run away! I was kidnapped by the King of Lycans! I didn’t run!"

"So foolish!" Nina strolled towards her, wearing a scowl. "Who’d believe such a stupid lie. You have met the King of Lycans? You?!"

Bebe felt herself getting smaller. She did not meet the King of Lycans? He used her, why did Nina make it sound like she had fun?

No one believed her, then they’d all be killed, even the Elder wasn’t helping. She felt Sorren walking towards her.

"Please, Prince Sorren, don’t—" she froze when Sorren opened his top for the Elder to see.

All gasped as they saw the black patch on his skin.

"That was done by the Alpha, old granny. And indeed, Bebe was kidnapped by the King of Lycans. I was there. It was the Princess of Green Valleys that saved her."

The Elder hesitated, tearing her eyes from the young man’s body. "Maybe she was. But th-that doesn’t mean it’s the Alpha that did this to you—"

"That part is left for you to believe. But since you didn’t seem surprised that she’s a witch, you must’ve noticed."

The Elder lowered her head, as did some other women.

"Truth is, it’d be easier raiding this pack than having this argument, but the Princess of Green Valleys asked Bebe to be here, this morning. You shouldn’t waste it."

Bebe watched as Prince Sorren returned back to the warriors after speaking. She turned to the Elder, who looked like she had a change of heart.

How could he convince her with few words? She’d been trying all morning. It must be the difference between she and someone raised to be a leader.

She felt ashamed.

"Bebe." She looked up when her name was called.

"The Green Valleys Princess will... help our pack, is that so?" the Elder asked, struggling to say those words.

Bebe bent down, to her level. "Yes, she’s willing to extend a hand to us, in exchange of our armory production."

She had to keep adding the last part. Laurel was no saint or a big charity helper, especially if it’s resources her people needed. Rolling Stones will sacrifice too.

The Elder nodded. "We get to remain in our pack, right? We don’t have to move to Green Valleys. We stay here?"

Bebe smiled a bit. It’d be preposterous if they had to leave. "Here. Rolling Stones will remain Rolling Stones."

With that the Elder made a declaration that Rolling Stones will be under Green Valleys. The people were discontent, but accepted it.

The warriors before them were enough motivation.

Stefan signaled for a warrior to send them a contract to sign. The warrior gave it to the Lead Warrior, who looked it over. "W-What? It says ’contract of subjugation’?!"

The people turned to themselves. Some asking what subjugation meant, while some wondering why it said that.

Stefan raised his voice. "Your Alpha dissolved the contract between your pack and mine!"

The pack fell quiet as they realized he was the Lycan Alpha, not that they couldn’t feel it better, but it was their first time being before one so couldn’t be sure.

"It’d have been an alliance if not. Also, along with my brother here, my Delta was attacked by your Alpha. That subjugation is mercy."

Bebe gulped down nothing.

The Lead Warrior handed the contract to the Elder, who quickly asked for ink to sign it. She handed it to Bebe.

The Elder came before the Alpha and his warriors and bowed, earning gasps and sobs from her people. "Thank you for your mercy, Alpha."

This was the fault of their wicked Alpha, who abandoned them after annoying lycans. As long as the pack lived, then they could recover their pride again.

Sorren raised her head up, surprising the old woman. "He wouldn’t be your Alpha for long. The contract ends when your Bebe is fit to take her place as Alpha of your pack."

All eyes shifted to Bebe, who chuckled nervously.

The old women exhaled, feeling relieved. "Thank you, young lycan. We’d do our best to make sure she’s ready."

Bebe rubbed her neck. She’d be signed up for hell.
