Her Vengeful Lycan Alpha

Chapter 232: Reckless Plan

Chapter Two Hundred-Thirty-Two – Reckless Plan

Sorren mounted the horse, and looked back, studying the two warriors behind him. They weren’t nervous.

He looked forward and smirked. They were quite old now and probably looking for how to retire or die honorably in battle. He’d give them the chance for the second.

"Let’s go!" he bellowed and they chorused a reply.

It was just to scout, as he had told the warriors back at High Mountains, waiting for the next attack.

But Sorren had other goals to achieve at this scouting. His brother might be bait for the witches, but Sorren had a feeling that they wouldn’t attack like before.

Their success last time was due to the element of surprise and since they hit one lycan, they might be temporarily satisfied.

Of course, from Bebe’s explanation and his reasoning, their goal wasn’t just the Alpha but the lycans at High Moon and at Green Valleys.

Sorren had also realized that the fiery attack had affected some of the lycans at High Mountains but no werewolf, therefore consolidating his theory.

They weren’t just trying to kill the King but all lycans in sight, so he’d be giving them a lycan as bait. Himself.

The chances that they’d take him as hostage was low but not nothing, he could play along and use it to target the Rolling Stones Alpha squarely.

It was a reckless plan, but they’ve never fought witches before and he didn’t want his older brother taking a too huge leap and falling badly.

Even if anything happened to him, his brother, the Alpha of the Pack, will still be alive. Those were Sorren’s thoughts, not that he planned to die.

They crossed the High Mountains’ big gate and Sorren increased the horse’s pacing. The warriors did the same.

The horses sprinted into the forest at the orders of their masters. Sorren rode even quicker, towards the spot he envisioned the witches to lay in wait.

The same place the spear runt had struck. It had the cover of tall trees and the branches hid the sunlight.

That way the forest will be a little cold, so he’d easily notice any heat magic. Soon they reached there, Sorren turned to the warriors, his honorable scapegoats.

All families of warriors are rewarded after their death so it was no crime to die for their pack, royalties or officials.

"Let’s separate, go ahead, you, go that way. I’d be waiting here. If you notice nothing uncommon, then report back to me." He ordered, pointing at the directions.

He had also made sure to pick amongst the few warriors at High Mountains that were lycans so the witches will be more interested in killing them.

The warriors chorused a reply, then rode their horses to the respective directions. Sorren waited in silence.

He jumped down from the horse and took out his arrow launcher. It was a long range attack weapon that he had proficiency in using.

The arrow tips were laced with wolfsbane, a habit he had picked from the rogues. The witches wouldn’t be able to escape and if he could get one alive, then even better.

Five minutes of silence passed with him preparing the arrows to fire. Then he heard an unnatural whooshing of wind behind him.

He jumped back, keep his eyes on the arrow launcher he was preparing. The wind passed by him but unnaturally rose, morphing into a small hurricane.

"So that’s how they did it." Sorren smirked. "That fire from the sky was brought and amplified by the wind."

Wind magic and Heat magic. A good combination for long range attacks and defenses. Sorren knew that against the magic itself, he’d have many shortcomings.

So he’d have to find the witches.

Those of them with perfect long range attacks had bad fighting skills. He’d have to leverage on that.

The hurricane dived down at him, but he sprinted from that spot towards the direction the wind floated from.

His horse neighed loudly as it was pulled by the hurricane and thrown to another part of the forest.

The hurricane grew as it ate through all the plants, stones and trees as it chased after Sorren. The Prince kept a steady pace, while still working on the arrow launcher.

It had to be at least ten arrows at his disposal.

He couldn’t take chances with murderous witches.

There was a flash of explosion at the position he was heading too.

Sorren noticed the hurricane disperse immediately and the wind spread, whooshing ahead of Sorren at incredible speed, but being weak to affect him.

The wind dispersed the smoke caused by the explosion.

Sorren still couldn’t perceive the smell of fire, only the explosion showed it. Like Heat Magic.

He slowed down, holding the arrow launcher on his left hand. His eyes caught sight of one of the warriors, the victim of the explosion.

Like a low heat roasted meat, only with more darkened spots and smells terrible. Sorren groaned, closing the eyelids of the already dead warrior.

"You did well. At least, now I know where they are, and that they’re working together." He walked ahead. "And they already know I’m working alone."

He could already catch their scents. Two females.

He found them, cladded in... nothing... but metallic pants and metallic breastplates. There had a whip at their waist.

"Oh, are you the Lycan Alpha that we’re to kill?" one of them stepped forward, her hand outstretched.

Sorren studied the movement of the wind around him, it was unusual. Since the one that stepped forward had her hand working, then she must be the wind user.

"Do I look like a Lycan Alpha?" he smiled. "That’s a big compliment. You two look like... ladies of Jappongi."

Scowls appeared on the two witches’ faces.

Jappongi, a place where lycans and werewolves can be at peace, but it’s also known for its prostitutes. The prostitutes were respectfully dubbed ’ladies of Jappongi’.

"So you want to die, huh!" the fire user balled her fists.

Sorren shrugged. Wouldn’t they try to kill him either way?
