Chapter 230: Will Die

Chapter Two Hundred-Thirty – Will die

Magic?

Stefan narrowed his eyes at the young girl. "Are you sure? Laurel said you should add this or it’s just your assumption? That’s a sensitive topic and you know it."

Bebe quivered as she noticed he seemed annoyed. She knew it was preposterous. Rolling Stones had no affiliation with magic or Damancas.

Where else will they get witches?

But Zeldris had said that if she didn’t add it, even Prince Sorren could turn to roasted meat, and she didn’t want that to ever happen. It’d ruin his aesthetics.

"I think it has to do with the—"

"The fire?" Sorren left where he sat.

He moved towards Stefan, sat by him and crossed his legs. "She has a point. I couldn’t bear to see Sigma’s body but I could perceive something like burnt skin."

Stefan grimaced. Shouldn’t that be something expected to smell when fire made contact with a body?

"Except," Sorren ran his hand through his hair somewhat excitedly, "that he should’ve burnt to a crisp with the amount of fire we saw that blasted from the... sky."

That was another weird thing. Fire blasting out from the sky, like it was carried by the wind or fell from heaven.

The Moon Goddess didn’t hate them that much yet.

"So you’re saying, witches are probably working together with the Rolling Stones Alpha to kill the lycans here?" Stefan summarized to be sure he got the story.

His younger brother nodded. "Very probable."

Bebe felt relieved that she didn’t need to explain everything that’d lead to asking who told her. Also, Prince Sorren made sense out of it.

She made a small bow. "I’d take my leave now."

Stefan looked away from his brother to her. "There’s nothing else? I find it quite odd that she made an alliance with us by ’mistake’ and now wants us dead. If we raid—"

"Please no!" Bebe fell to her feet. How could she forget the most important part! "The people of Rolling Stones have nothing to do with the Alpha’s decision."

The Alpha frowned. "And you are so sure because—"

"The Alpha isn’t the actual Alpha. She’s a monumental figure only." Bebe looked up. "The people are suffering and turning to crimes and the Alpha doesn’t care."

Sorren studied her expression. She spoke like she knew these people personally.

When he made a research on the Rolling Stones pack that dissolved their alliance with his brother, he found that they were located at the forest that demarcated Damancas from the packs this side.

That would be the spot where that criminal rider tried killing him, and where that spear girl attacked him.

Bebe knew those people and since he didn’t know what pack she originated from, but want to take down the Alpha, this Rolling Stones Pack seemed to fit descriptions.

"If the people are innocent, then there’s no need to kill them, only that... they’d become a pack under us... till they get a new Alpha, that is."

Stefan and Bebe snapped their head to Sorren.

Bebe hesitated. For Rolling Stones Pack to be under Black Claws? That’d be a massive change. It’s nearby so it wouldn’t be a big problem.

"You’d have to conquer the pack before you claim dominance and the warriors will try to defend if—"

"Then we’d do it that way." Sorren shrugged. "The warriors will die. The Alpha will die. Anyone that argue will die. The pack will be ours... till you’re ready."

Still she’s ready? Stefan exhaled. Could it be the pack that the girl wanted to be Alpha in? It made sense why she begged for their behalf.

The deal to take over Rolling Stones wasn’t bad, they’d be able to leverage off the pack’s armory production and stop any further catastrophe.

But, as the pack was going through hard times, it’d also mean catering for the Rolling Stones. High Mountains hadn’t been fully stabilized, to add more will be an issue.

"I-I accept." Bebe clenched her fists. "Hopefully, the resistance wouldn’t be much. It’s better than everyone dying. If you want, I can come with you to convince—"

"No." Sorren huffed. "They resist, they die. They don’t, they live. Someone has to die anyway. For Sigma’s sake."

Bebe swallowed down hardly. "I-I understand."

Stefan noticed the tears about to stream down her eyes. He nudged his brother. Why wasn’t he considerate?

If it were him who was told that their people will die for the sins of their bad Alpha, wouldn’t he be broken?

He had assumed that Sorren was fond of the girl, at least, since he accepted her request to come out when he was sullen.

But his mood changed like he changed hairpins.

"Inform your Princess of this too. Green Valleys will be in charge of feeding and aiding Rolling Stones through it’s poverty." Sorren ignored Stefan’s nudge and added.

Bebe hesitated, looking down. Will the Princess agree? Green Valleys was healthy and their farms are improved but they’d be an effect if Rolling Stones join the table.

She understand that Sorren was trying to shift Rolling Stones to Green Valleys and her, as their next Alpha, but she didn’t know if the two packs could survive.

Stefan quickly accepted it. That way High Mountains had to be the only thing he’d bother about. "It’s your pack. Laurel will do it for you, wouldn’t she—"

"She’s more pragmatic than that, I’m afraid."

The Alpha frowned. This Bebe seemed to have a knack for interrupting him and it reminded him of that Zeldris.

"But I’d do my best to let her see the need. If Rolling Stones is handed over to Green Valleys, then Green Valleys can gain from their armory production."

Sorren paused. That wasn’t how he planned it.

Bebe continued. "Or did you plan for Green Valleys to only be in charge of feeding the pack?" she folded her arms. "It’s hardly fair, Prince Sorren."

Sorren sighed, waving his hand dismissively. "Let the Alpha handle that. I’m done here." He left where he sat, took the covered bowl of herbal mixture and went inside.

Bebe turned to the Alpha who nodded.

"If I don’t agree now, Laurel, or that Zeldris, will come to my study to argue." He shrugged. "When we’ve conquered Rolling Stones Pack. Your Princess can have it wholly."

Bebe smiled and bowed. "Much appreciated, Alpha."
