Chapter 229: Tell Me?

Chapter Two Hundred-Twenty-Nine – Tell Me

(High Mountains)

Just when he wanted to have a good sleep. Sorren sighed, mixing the last herb with the others. He had to uproot young plants for this.

His farm was half ruined as he scavenged for all the healing plants to make medicine with. He sighed again.

Images of Sigma’s burnt body flashed in his mind and his hands worked faster. Mixing, grinding, pouring... pouring... pouring out.

"Sorren!" Stefan held his hand that was still pouring.

Sorren flew off his seat and timely used another bowl to catch the liquid herb mixture slipping out of the table.

"Calm down, or rest. Dylan said he’s still alive—"

"I know." Sorren threw down the towel he used to wipe the table. He left for his room, leaving everything.

How could those rogues have attacked from nowhere?

He paused and looked at the gate.

Were those really rogues? He didn’t get to see them. All he heard was the explosion and Dylan’s scream.

He knew it happened to Sigma because Dylan had come to take Sigma back. Problem was, why did it happen? Why was Sigma targeted?

Then it had occurred to him, it must’ve been his brother. An Alpha coming was usually the reason crazy plans kick-start.

The ’who did it’ was still pending but Sorren only wanted to focus on stopping the effects from worsening. The people were in panic and deep down, he was a mess.

If rogues with ability to take down Sigma and use fire on him existed, then there’s trouble.

He also blamed himself for not teaching Sigma enough. He tried to brush those thoughts off but his head was spinning.

"Sorren."

Sorren ignored him, continuing to his room.

Stefan sighed, going back outside. He stared at the herbal mixture for a while before pouring it in one bowl and covering it tightly.

It might’ve been something he picked up from Sorren and his stepmother, but not all herbal mixtures needed air.

The Alpha wasn’t sure if that herbal mixture was such but it was better to be safe than sorry, for Sorren’s sake, he was already regretting a lot today.

"Alpha!"

Stefan left where he sat and went to the wall, he looked down at the warrior bowing. "Yes? Dylan has gone back with Sigma, right? Any news?"

"Nothing, but the Princess of Green Valleys had caught wind of what happened, I think she sent someone with information for you... Bebe...sir." The warrior replied.

Bebe? Stefan rubbed his temples. The name didn’t sound familiar but if it’s from his mate then it could be helpful. He hoped. "Bring the Bebe in."

Almost immediately, he heard the gate rattling and a figure jumped in. Stefan froze.

"She was already here, sir. She said it was urgent." The warrior added and bowed again. "I’d leave." And he left.

Stefan stared at the teenage girl, who was looking at him with so much determination he wondered if she was going to save him from the confusion he felt.

"My name is Bebe. I have information for Prince Sorren."

"He’d not want to see you, or anyone." Stefan frowned. Who did she think she was to want to see him suddenly?

Bebe looked inside the house. "I know who did this, why and how? Alpha, if you don’t let me see him—"

Her tongue froze when he appeared in front of her with claws close to her eyes. She trembled but she stood her ground.

Stefan tilted his head. "You’d not tell?"

Bebe forced herself to look down. "I won’t! It’s my Princess’s orders! I’m sorry but she said to only tell—"

She noticed he stepped back, holding the hand with elongated claws. "You’d need to convince Sorren to come out then." He looked down. "Sorry about that."

Bebe’s face flushed and she nodded, then ran into the house. "Prince Sorren! Prince Sorren! Prince—"

"Bebe?"

She turned to him and her breathing hitched. His hair fell over his shoulders and he looked like a grieving puppy.

"Um... Prince Sorren, Princess Laurel permitted me to speak to you about something that happened few days ago. Can you come out for a bit?"

"Have you been well, Bebe?"

Her eyes widened and she looked away. "Y-Yes."

She followed him when he began moving out.

She cleared her throat when she got the Prince’s and the Alpha’s attention. Just as she was about speaking, she felt a sharp pain course through her head.

She paused, and then it disappeared. She cleared her throat, wanting to ignore it. Maybe it’s panic. She ran all the way to High Mountains, any way.

"Few days ago, I think the Princess told you, Alpha, I was kidnapped by the Rolling Stone’s Alpha."

Stefan nodded.

Sorren turned from her to his brother. "So, she’s the one who did this? She’s also the one that dissolve the alliance, wasn’t she?"

The other two nodded.

Bebe continued. "She had mentioned how the alliance was a mistake, and she planned the assassination of the lycans at Green Valleys. She asked for our cooperation."

Bebe exhaled, when they didn’t react to it. She added before it’d register wrongly. "Of course, Princess Laurel wasn’t interested and said it’s treason. She didn’t think it’d work either so didn’t mention it. Now it did, she sent me."

Bebe bowed her head. "I’m sorry we didn’t say earlier—"

"Even if you had, it didn’t change anything." Stefan looked outside. "I wouldn’t ever expect the assassins being here or using long range fiery attacks."

Bebe looked up, remembering what Zeldris said. She didn’t know if she should say it, especially as it’d lead to who told her. Lycans detested witches.

She had heard that Zeldris was related to one, but wasn’t a witch. That might not spare him.

"This is good information. At least, we know who we’re up against. Anything else?" Sorren pulled his hair back.

Bebe noticed he looked brighter, and he had more focus in his eyes as he knew his target. She nodded slowly.

"There’s magic involved too."

Sorren’s hand, that was working on his hair, froze. Magic?
