Chapter 213: Creep Zeldris
Chapter Two Hundred-Thirteen – Creepy Zeldris
Laurel paced around the kitchen, yet Zeldris was nowhere to be found. It was already time for his breakfast.
She knew he wouldn’t be sulking somewhere. It’s not like they had an argument, she only told him to let her be free.
Even if she planned to apologize, she only wanted to do it in case she came off as ungrateful.
"Well, maybe he felt like missing breakfast." She said to herself. Or perhaps he was training somewhere.
She didn’t want to confirm any of those as she returned to the hall. There were notices scattered on the table, she hoped none of them came from Stefan, after last night.
"Princess, good morning!"
She turned to him.
Valkyrie must’ve given him those leather suits she mass produced. His were red, probably to match his hair, and had black stripes at the end.
Laurel didn’t know what the stripes were for. But Valkyrie couldn’t have prepared them on short notice, so it was probably a random suit.
"Looking good, Escanor." She gave a thumps up. "And good morning. Have you had breakfast yet?"
She plopped down on her seat and hurriedly open a notice. She noticed he tried helping and stopped him. She still didn’t know if Stefan had written it any.
She didn’t want the new Delta asking her questions she wouldn’t be able to answer. "I can handle... I mean, I don’t hope to open them yet."
A clear rejection might make him make that face again.
Escanor made an ’hmm’ sound, stepping back. He remembered something and frowned. "Princess, about Zeldris..."
Laurel hid the scowl on her face, "Yes?" A notice had been from that Cara again. She never gave up.
"He’s your bodyguard, right? Not a Delta."
Laurel glanced at him. Truly, Zeldris’s rank was Delta, but she had been hesitant to give him the title during the time his true intentions were unknown.
Also, Darren had spoken of finding a Delta for her, so she didn’t think so hard. And Zeldris wouldn’t be responsible enough to handle a Delta’s duties.
"He’s Delta by rank, not title. If he tries to bully you, you can always use your title." She smiled, taking another notice from the table.
Escanor leaned on the wall by her side. "It’s not about bullying me. He throws his legs a lot, but it’s nothing I can’t handle... it’s just that he’s a little creepy."
Laurel absentmindedly nodded. Zeldris was.
Escanor noticed her reaction and left the wall, balling his fists. "You noticed too? Has he been creepy with—"
"No, no, no..." Laurel kept her head shaking in the negative. "Why do you think he’s creepy? Oh, did he do something during your tour..."
She noticed Escanor’s face heat up, but it was more in annoyance. "Goddess, what did he do?"
She held her head with a hand. "Tell me, Escanor." Maybe she’d smack Zeldris’s head first, before making him apologize.
Escanor cleared his throat. "You know when you told him not to do to me what you would do, and to do to me what you wouldn’t do to him.... He showed his true colors."
By that, Laurel assumed Zeldris disobeyed her clear orders and had hit Escanor, but Escanor shook his head, as if he knew her wrong her thoughts were.
"He had obeyed you to the fullest, Princess." Escanor held his chest. "And I was nearly defiled because of it."
Defiled? Laurel stopped reading the notice in her hand. This was becoming worrisome. And interesting.
"It seems Zeldris has perverse thoughts with you, your highness. Doing to me what you wouldn’t do to him..." Escanor clutched his chest. "...was telling me to strip!"
There was silence.
Laurel held unto the arm of the seat for support. Why did she feel like laughing? "Strip?" she shouldn’t laugh, Escanor seemed traumatized.
Escanor began pacing in the hall. "It was so uncalled for. And of course, I refused... then he began saying he didn’t care... he was only saying things he wished you said... then he said to open my mouth so he’d feed me snacks he bought... and I refused... he said he only wished you did those to him..."
Laurel shook in laughter as Escanor rambled on and on. Those two will make a good combination. She just knew it.
If Zeldris had someone to torment, apart from her, she’d get a breather. She’d willing sacrifice Escanor to that.
"Hmm. That’s definitely an issue." She rubbed her jaw, trying to be serious. No male had ever acted like they saw her in that way.
She was bland and only recently did her body morph from bones to flesh. Nothing to even stare at twice, apart from her green eyes, but every other thing shamed them.
So Laurel was sure that Zeldris was being sarcastic with that behavior. Also, he couldn’t see her, so he probably didn’t know how bad she was.
It barely bothered her. She’d pride herself in things other than the beauty she didn’t have.
"Escanor, don’t worry about that one, but if you want, you have full orders to exercise your power... or you could ask the Beta for ideas." Laurel smirked.
That young Beta might tell his female servant to make Zeldris strip and feed him a boatload. That one didn’t hold back. "So, just try to live along, hmm?"
Escanor frowned, looking down. "Where did he even come from? Is he blind? He keeps saying he can see me scowling at him, but how?"
Laurel’s eyes darkened on the notice she’d been reading. She left where she sat, looking ahead. "Escanor, why not ask the Beta that too? He’d tell you in better details."
Escanor stepped back, noticing her change in demeanor. Did something happen? He watched her march out of the hall. "Should I come—"
"That Alpha is crazy." She cursed as she left the door.
Escanor tried to leave but the expression on the Princess’ face made him pause. He had only known for a while, but she’d never looked at nothing with no much hate.
"Was it hate..." he turned to where she walked out from. "...or bloodlust?" What was she going to do? And alone?
He didn’t want to involve Zeldris, so he ran out of the hall, following the Princess’ scent.
