Her Vengeful Lycan Alpha -

Chapter 208: His Childish Plan
Chapter Two Hundred-Eight – His Childish Plan
It’s been an hour since Sir Darren left, yet Laurel hadn’t left her seat. That King... despite his jolly demeanor... was a demon.
Creating drugs that could turn rational thinking beings to animals? Was that the hope for the world he had? All for revenge? He was taken it too far.
And like the female character in that crappy tragic romance book, he’d kill his own subjects soon enough.
Did he even think of what would happen if he mass produced those drugs and a werewolf gets their hand on it? It’d resume the Lycan experiment.
The important thing was, there weren’t many Lycans in the world due to the annihilation years back. Werewolves were plentiful, it’d take ages to wipe them out.
And lycans would also be reducing in great number while werewolves will be going down, and for many reasons.
Including other werewolves avenging, and hunger.
Many Lycans packs, not under High Moon Kingdom, depend on the importation of goods from werewolf packs to survive.
Werewolves couldn’t just die out or they’d be imbalance. Rogues will be plentiful too.
Only the name of powerful Kingdoms like Damancas, Lunaria and the others out there keep rogues in place.
Had that King really mapped out how he’d run the world if he ever destroyed all werewolves?
"Just his childish thinking." Laurel sighed.
There was no need to overthink such a thing. That King can only plan as far as he can see. Damancas and Lunaria aren’t the only kingdoms that could stop him.
Meanwhile, High Moon Kingdom is the only Lycan kingdom in existence. The other lycans lived in minor packs supported by werewolf packs and kingdoms.
"It’d never happen." She said to herself to sound convinced, but the fear remained.
Mainly because, if the King ever starts, her pack, the closest to him, will be one of the first to be wiped off.
She lifted her head to look for something to distract her thoughts. She noticed only the new Delta still seated.
Even her body guard had left her to bother someone else. She was grateful. She cleared her throat to get his attention.
Was he deep in thoughts because of what Darren said? For one who liked lycans, he might feel more conflicted. "You have a problem with Darren’s idea, right?"
"Was it really necessary?" he didn’t meet her gaze.
His voice sounded deeper than when he apologized. Laurel gave herself a mental note that he wasn’t the twins.
"Well, keeping magical items close for protection might become troublesome if our captors find out. I’d agree and say it’s more of a hassle than a gain." She replied.
Damancas was kind to give magic imbued swords to her warriors, but they were swords that either ’killed a lycan in one strike’ or ’radiate an energy that weakened lycans’.
Laurel didn’t think it was advisable using it around Green Valleys. They weren’t at war with the lycans yet so it’d only raise questions.
Also, her Beta already had a lot of those swords.
Frida had confirmed that they’re still active as she used them on the Black Claws Lead Warrior and he must have assumed it was wolfsbane. Such dangerous magic.
The only plus side was that they didn’t work on werewolves. Laurel noticed Escanor’s eyes still on her so stopped her train of thoughts. "Is there something wrong?"
"Will you take it?"
The weapons? Laurel shook her head. "I already gave Sir Darren my answer and he left in understanding."
Escanor’s face lit up. She did?
"I had discussed it with you, officials. Did you space out?" Laurel frowned a bit, then shook her head.
"No, I... I didn’t space..." his shoulder slumped. "Sorry... I’m really sorry."
Did he need to apologize? Laurel left her seat, but he immediately stood up with her. She paused, glancing at him. "I want to leave to my room. Is there a problem?"
"Well... do.. do you need... company?" he scratched his head. "I mean... we should... I should get to know you."
Was this guy serious about being friends then getting married? Laurel begun recollecting all he said on her body at the forest.
He must be lonely, or one who got attached to everyone around him. In a way, he was like Zeldris, except Zeldris was still picky to a fault.
"I’m sorry but I need to rest. We can do that next time—" she noticed life drain out of his face. He had that hurt look. Will he keep emotionally blackmailing her like this?
"Or you could grow a backbone and ignore him." Elma said, but her voice wasn’t so strong. "Don’t ignore him now though. He’s new, right? Indulge him."
Laurel immediately took it as her excuse. "H-However," she looked away from his hurt expression. "I can show you around Green Valleys and talk."
She felt a hand wrap around hers. Her body tensed up seeing him by her side with the brightest smile. "Okay! Let’s go!"
She clenched her fists. He was an adorable soul. "But this is a grown man. I told myself not to baby a grown man."
"Indulge him." Elma’s words of wisdom came again.
Laurel sighed and left the hall with him. She discreetly disconnected their arms to close the door, then kept her arm to herself.
Still, she noticed he reached for it again.
"Huh, Princess, where are you going? Didn’t you say you’d go to bed?" It was Zeldris, outside the door.
Laurel shrieked. She felt like she was caught breaking rules for the sake of a cute child. Slight guilt washed over her.
Zeldris frowned. "I left you to it and you’re here with," he glared at Escanor, who was already glaring at him, "if you were going to smack his head, I don’t mind."
Then Laurel had the best idea she’d ever had in a long time.
Escanor gets to make a friend, and she gets to sleep. For Zeldris, he might make a friend too.
She held Zeldris’s hand gently, making him drag his eyes from Escanor to her, his cheeks reddened a bit.
"Will you be as kind as," she joined Escanor’s hands with his, "to help your Princess walk the Delta around Green Valleys?"
She noticed Escanor seemed disappointed but he didn’t refute the idea. Zeldris sighed. How could he refuse when she asked him like that? "Fine then. Go to sleep."
Laurel left their hands, joined together. "And please, don’t do to him what I would do to you." She meant the smacks.
"And do to him what I wouldn’t do to you." She meant the hugs, if he was up to it.
A sly smile came on Zeldris’s face as he pulled Escanor out. "I hear you! I’d take that order very seriously."
