Chapter 185: Hugs

Chapter Hundred-Eighty-Five – Hugs

Laurel was well aware he didn’t lie. The crown confirmed by not glowing, however, he hadn’t said the truth yet.

"You don’t dare to lie to a Princess." Ferdinand held his sword. "If you don’t say your intentions, you’d be delivered to those lycans as a magic user."

The young man froze, nibbling on his lower lips. "Anything but that. Anything but that, please—"

"I don’t have time for this." Laurel rubbed her temples. "You make it seem like I’m begging you for information when it’s all to your own good. Keep him here, please."

Ferdinand nodded at his servants who held unto the young man. Laurel tried leaving but he yelled out. "Okay, okay, I’d speak! I’d speak!"

But she kept on moving. She had an engagement with Darren earlier. He wasn’t at his pack when she sent the notice and wondered if he had returned yet.

"I’d speak, Princess!"

Laurel opened the door to the gate and walked through it. In all her princess-ly duties, none included babying a suspicious grown man that tried to kill her.

Even still, she heard him yell. "I’m color blind!"

She paused, but didn’t turn back. The gate she had opened, closed back, making the young man think she already left.

He fell back as the servants pulled him away. "I only wanted a hug..." he trailed off when the Princess reappeared by the gate.

"Color blind?" she raised a brow. "That’s the ’blind’ you are? Do you take me for a joke?"

Ferdinand snapped his finger and a female servant appeared. "Princess, maybe he’d give us more information if we gave him this ’hug’ thing."

Hug thing? Laurel returned inside. Why did the Beta make hugging sound so distant? And what was this young man’s deal with hugs? It was becoming creepy.

"Hug the life out of him. It’s an order." Ferdinand pointed at the young man.

Laurel’s eyes widened, as the big breasted female servant, went to the young man, whose hands were held by the servants.

She cupped his face, making the young man look up in confusion. He had zoned out after the Princess left.

All he wondered now was why a strange girl, with half her cleavage out, was staring soulfully at him.

It made small red lines appear on his face. The lines thickened when the girl leaned towards him.

Laurel cleared her throat. "When you mean ’hug the life out of him’, did you mean hug the LIFE out of—"

The girl grabbed the young man’s face and inserted them between her breasts, then she wrapped her long arms around his neck, pinning him there.

The young man didn’t move, stunned by the softness.

Laurel’s jaw dropped, she snapped her head at Ferdinand, who didn’t seem bothered by the act.

Then she heard the Beta add. "Tightly, he needs warmth."

The Princess shut her eyes. "Will he breathe—"

Muffled screams left the young man and he tried to free his hand, the two servants holding them, pinned him to a wall, making it easy for them to hold him down.

Another two held down his shaky legs, giving his body no chance to wriggle from the female servant’s hold.

It wasn’t a hug but suffocation and Laurel worried more on seeing the female servant having a straight face even if a man’s face was between her two mounds.

More muffled screams came from the man and Laurel wondered how the female servant could keep his head pinned with his strength.

"Ferdinand, what do you think you’re doing?"

"Hugging him." Ferdinand said with a straight expression.

Laurel might not be hugged occasionally but she was sure that wasn’t how it was done. It was still humorous to her. The young man stopped screaming.

He must be dead with warmth, Laurel thought.

The young Beta snapped his finger, and the female servant dropped the young man’s head and left him.

The young man’s face was tomato red and he even had a slight nosebleed. He realized everyone was looking at him and tried to cover his blushing face.

With ease, he pulled his hand from the servants’ hold and covered his face. They were stunned that he released himself that easily, quite ashamed too.

"So, will you tell us what your deal with magic and color blind is," Ferdinand came in front of him, "or do you want more hugs?" he raised his hand, ready to snap his fingers.

The young man peeked from the spaces between his fingers, he shook his head. "I only wanted a hug from..." he looked at the Princess. "No more hugs, please."

Laurel strolled into the place, trying to suppress her laughter. At least, they won’t be any request for hugs anytime soon.

"So tell us what color blind—"

"My mother was part of an entourage to a Grand Witch when I was little. We were attacked by lycans and I nearly lost my sight. My mother used a magic spell to make me colorblind while my natural sight healed. The cloth on my eyes is the magic infused item to heal my eyes, but they never did. Few times, I don’t see anything but most times, I’m colorblind."

Laurel gulped down nothing. "And you said you can’t use magic? What were you doing in the entourage?"

Ferdinand looked at her. "An entourage is like a life journey where junior witches learn from a Grand witch. Sometimes, they go along their family too."

So like travelers? Laurel nodded.

She stared at Ferdinand, trying to figure out how he knew, but then he had swords that detected magic and magic infused items so he knew a lot about magic and witches.

She didn’t want to guess why, but it’s probably related to the Lycan he had a grudge against.

"And you believe there’s no cure other than magic? Also, how did you end up here?" She enquired.

"I came looking for my older cousin who’s masking as a lycan here, under a spell." The young man sighed. "But I haven’t been lucky. That’s the only family I have."

Masking under a spell? And as a Lycan?

Laurel leaned towards him. At the same time, Ferdinand got close to him. "What’s the name?" they asked in unison.
