Chapter 182: Frustrated

Chapter Hundred-Eighty-Two – Frustrated

Laurel placed a contract in front of each of them. They couldn’t see what was written and that was the best part.

"Alright then, I’d do as you say. I’d banish you on my authority as the current leader of this pack—"

Elder Debu shook his head. "I don’t want to be banished! I don’t want to serve a Lycan for the rest of my life!"

Laurel frowned at bit. So there was still one with a little reasoning? She took the contract from him.

"Well, I’m sure you’d have gain more there than here." she kept trying to entice him. "But if you want so."

Like Elder Busu, Laurel would feel genuinely glad if not all her father’s elders sided with the lycans. That’d mean her father’s trust during those years were all for naught.

However, unlike Elder Busu, Laurel didn’t see any redeeming quality in Elder Debu.

He was only a fat narcissistic man with too many children, rude children. Laurel remembered how annoying they used to be to her.

They were possibly all dead now since they became warriors. That could be the reason Elder Debu didn’t want to serve the lycans who killed his sons.

"Stupid Debu! You’d regret that decision!" Elder Baka shouted, pointing at nothing in particular. "You will—"

Laurel slammed the table and he kept shut. "There’s a contract that clears you of all your roles as Elder in Green Valleys and shows that you are banished. Please sign."

Lisa placed a pen in their hands and in their desperation to be out of her clutches, none asked for the contract to be read to them.

Lisa had already planned to read only a part.

The contract was signed and Laurel quickly held unto it. That was perfect. "And Elder Debu, you are no longer an Elder at Green Valleys so you can stay here and rot!"

The Elder nodded, in defeated. It was much better than having to serve Lycans who took everything from them.

The other two cheered, raising their wrinkled and lanky hands up. "We will reach heights we’d never reach with Black Claws. And Princess, be prepared."

Laurel held unto the paperwork like they were her babies, she smirked, staring down at the two elders.

"Do you want to be punished? What are you still doing at Green Valleys after being banished?"

The elders paused, then frantically tried rising but they couldn’t see so fell back on the chair. It amused Laurel seeing them act like blind bats.

"Also, you are not to leave with your surviving family members. They refuse leaving with you also."

Elder Uso paused, turning to the direction of Laurel’s voice. "What the hell do you mean by that!"

Laurel pointed at the contract despite them not being able to see it. "You agreed to it when you signed the contract. Also I spoke with your families and they don’t want to do anything with the Lycans. You two are on your own."

Elder Baka began breathing heavily. "On our own? What about my daughters? They wouldn’t join us—"

"I don’t like repeating myself." Laurel frowned.

She had met with the wives of the Elders and like Elder Kuso’s wife, they were so contrasting to their husband.

The wives didn’t want to leave Green Valleys that they grew up in, married in, and birthed in.

And they’d rather be separated from their husbands who lost hope on their pack.

Laurel had been stunned by the resolve of the women so incorporated it into the contract to free them. They were her people after all, she shouldn’t let them go so easily.

The two elders were speechless for a while.

So Laurel continued. "Also, for you Elder Baka," this elder was the most powerful and easily made the others do his bidding, so Laurel planned to frustrate him. "listen up."

"As you signed, this house will be donated to Green Valleys’ officials, your servants in your extended farmland will have their pay doubled. Your daughters agreed."

The old man grew pale.

"And twenty-percent of the profit of that extended farmland will be given to Green Valleys. The rest will be handled by your daughters." She added.

Elder Baka hiccupped as he felt heart collapse.

Laurel marched to Elder Uso. "For you, all your properties will be given to your wives and children but all your," she turned to the ambusher, "servants will be given to me."

Jessika glanced at the ambusher that had been staring at space since he got consciousness.

She couldn’t tell if he was seeing anything beneath the metallic head armor and the white cloth covering his eyes.

But as the Princess said that the servants will be given to her, he looked up, still not at her. Jessika squatted to remove his blind fold but found them under the helmet.

Elder Uso slammed his hand on the table. "If that slave is all I lose then I don’t care. I still win, Princess."

Laurel frowned. She couldn’t convert any of his properties to Green Valleys’ because he still had young children.

But Elder Baka’s daughters were all married and didn’t live in the house so they only cared about the farmland as inheritance.

Still Laurel let it go. "Good, he’s the only one?"

"The rest died after they failed their mission." Elder Uso spat. "And he would have too, after failing to kill you!"

Lisa frowned, then poked a pen on the Elder. "He’s not a tool, you old thing! My father told you to release him a long time ago and you lied that you did but—"

The Elder’s slapped the table, fluttering his eyes opened. The effects on his eyes were being relieved. "I don’t care about anything anymore. I’d rise again like a phoenix!"

His proclamation made Laurel laugh. He must be the delusional type. "No, you are just a dog. Go and bark to your new Master."

She went to the ambusher and stretched her hand to him, "And you, you’re no longer a slave but I’m really interested in your fighting prowess—"

She noticed the young man didn’t take her hand but reacted to her voice. She raised a brow at Jessika.

Jessika nodded, glancing at Lisa who sighed. "He’s really strong though. Just that," she looked down. "he’s blind."

Laurel withdrew her hand.
