Chapter 166: Lady Cara

Chapter Hundred-Sixty-Six – Lady Cara

The moon goddess didn’t give her a break. Or maybe it was the lycans that didn’t let her rest.

Laurel hurried to the entrance where she was told someone waited for her. She didn’t have the time to put on her crown or walk elegantly as she rushed out.

It was a lycan calling and after Slime’s incident, she wanted to make sure it’s not trouble.

She arrived at the entrance and slowed down her steps. There was a crowd of Black Claws warriors in front, possibly greeting the lycan official. Laurel cursed on how much they were becoming in Green Valleys already.

"Is that princess here yet?" Laurel heard coming from the middle of the crowd. It was a female’s voice.

"Yes, what do you want?" Laurel crossed her arms. She didn’t expect the official to be female, or to want to greet her before entry.

The warriors, circling the official, made way for her to pass. Laurel saw that she’s young lady of few years older than her, with silk straight hair and solemn yellow eyes.

A scowl threatened to come to her face but she resisted it. The lady looked a lot like a bastard she knew.

But if this lady wanted to greet her before entry then she might be a better person to the bastard she knew.

The young lady stood in front of her. "I am Cara. Are you the Princess of the fallen pack?"

Laurel didn’t like how she worded it. "I am, so...?"

"Good, escort me to the palace." She went past Laurel. "I don’t want your maids doing it."

Laurel’s was wide eyed. She glanced at Bebe and another warrior who were supposed to walk Cara, and then back at the bitch.

"I should escort you? Me, the Princess of Green Valleys?"

The warriors behind her were throwing worried glances at Cara. One of them whispered to the other to get the Beta, because they knew of the Princess’s craziness and knew of their Lady’s rudeness.

"Yes, you are but the fallen princess of—" A kick went to Cara’s sides, sending her flying to the west wall. Her body slammed on the wall, and she gagged out immediately.

"Weak." she was slapped across the face.

Her body ached from the pain, she fluttered her eyes to look at the form in front her.

Laurel looked away from the pathetic lycan below her.

She scratched her head, slightly regretting. She’d been on edge since Slime’s wild attack, hence she resulted to violence at the slightest provocation.

"You must be Cade’s sister since you two know how to really annoy me." She sighed. And from her easy it was to beat the girl, she was just a normal level lycan.

After all, Cade’s family were all commoners before their son got blessed with a chance to become Beta. It shouldn’t get to their heads.

Cara struggled to get up, but her body fell again. She hated it. She hated looking weak in front of another werewolf bitch.

What if the King walked in and saw her being so pathetic? He might not want her then! But her body betrayed her. She needed to rest a bit, till her inner wounds healed.

"P-Princess, please... don’t hit Lady Cara again... she’s sorry... please."

Laurel turned to the Black Claws warrior that spoke, she faked a smile. "Of course, I don’t plan to. I bet she has learnt her lesson. Isn’t that so?"

The warrior shook his head quickly.

Cara gritted her teeth, glaring at the ground. The princess caught her off guard, that’s all. She’d been training to be a good enough wife for Prince Sorren or the Alpha.

She might’ve lost because she didn’t expect the Princess to react but next time, she’d attack first.

Laurel stared down at the lady again. "Also, those two aren’t maids anymore. They are warriors of Green Valleys and you should listen to them. Are we clear?"

Cara looked away, then nodded. She didn’t have words to spare the bitch. But Laurel walked away, not needing the words, all she needed was peace for her people.

On her way back to her quarters she saw a Black Claws warrior running with Dylan. She remembered that it had been a while she saw him, but she ignored him, leaving.

Dylan had slowed down when he noticed the Princess’ gaze on him. He became disappointed when she just left.

"Lady Cara?" he walked towards the lady on the ground.

Dylan turned to the warriors who worshipped Lady Cara for her beauty, they all looked worried. Dylan turned back to Cara, searching her body for wounds.

The warrior that called him had only said that the Lady was in trouble so Dylan had to leave the Beta’s quarters were he was sorting files, because the Beta didn’t care.

Dylan helped her lean over his shoulders. "The officials are waiting for you after you sent a notice of your arrival."

The warrior still thought it weird. Why would she send a notice of her arrival? Notices meant the receiver should host her, but who the hell did she think she was?

She was only related to the Beta.

He helped her reach the Alpha’s quarters, and stopped, shaking a bit so Cara will be aware of where they were.

Surprising to him, she left his body like it was poop and adjusted her clothes, hair, and wiped the blood off her mouth. "Am I to go in now?" she flashed a smile to Dylan.

But he saw it as the fakest thing ever.

He opened the door without a reply to her. The Alpha was seated at his study, he looked up, trying to recognize the one in front of him.

"Alpha, really good to see you." Cara bowed.

Stefan finally recognized her, from the voice. She usually had a high pitch tone, it nearly annoyed him.

"Sure. You sent a notice. Did something happen at High Mountains?"

Cara’s stomach filled with butterflies just on seeing his handsome face again and hearing his voice.

He was her first love after all, but she had to let go when he engaged Jade.

But it seemed she never let go and no matter how she wanted to move on, the feeling remained. Now, she would have to work it up and be by his side forever.

Dylan sized the lady up. There was really no reason she sent a notice, right? Just being an attention seeker.
