Chapter 160: Lycan In Pain
Chapter Hundred-Sixty – Lycan in Pain
Elma stooped low to a defensive stance, her eyes keenly on the lycan in front of her. It was a bad time, a really bad time to meet this, but there’s nothing to do but act.
The lycan lunged at her but Elma jumped out of it’s way on time. She charged at it, sinking her fangs into it’s arm and moving away before it’s claws got a hold of her.
She noticed that the lycan probably resisted whatever happened to it as it hesitated to land blows.
"How did it get wild?" she spat out the blood of the lycan in her mouth. It must have been triggered involuntarily.
Those thoughts made Elma hesitate as well. Should she be trying to kill it or save it? She might need to give it a heavy blow to snap it out of it’s wild rage.
She dodged another blow it sent her away, as her thoughts wandered on how to defeat the problem.
Also, the fact it felt familiar to her.
"A High Moon lycan?" Laurel wondered.
It should be a lycan she saw there.
Elma used her hind legs to knock at it’s head, in an attempt to make it pass out. It resisted, swinging its arms and claws wildly, like a child throwing a tantrum.
She kept a distance. "What now, Laurel?"
Laurel sighed. This wouldn’t be easy. If they decide to go for a kill, it might. The lycan lunged at her again, trying to grab her with both hands.
Elma jumped, head butting it at the forehead. It fell back and she fell with it, then the claws of all her limbs buried deep in it’s chest, clutching it painfully.
A loud howl of pain erupted from the lycan and Elma kept on, attempting to tear the skin off.
Massive pain could snap the lycan back to his usual self, and that could be another trouble on it’s own.
Before she could give it her desired dose of pain, it’s large hand slapped her out of its body.
Elma crashed on a tree but rose to her feet immediately. "I slowed it down." She winced a bit, watching the blood leak out of the Lycan’s chest.
It’s chest heaved up and down and it’s breath was slow. Elma deemed it a good sign.
The skin of the lycan slowly faded to light brown and his physical form morphed back to that of a human’s body.
Elma tore her eyes away as the lycan changed to a male and was naked. She ran behind a cluster of trees and shifted to human.
She wore the clothes she removed before. The jacket was still free and with it’s size, it could fit him so, with closed eyes, she made way to cover him with it.
As she dropped the jacket on the lycan, before she could open her eyes, she felt her legs get kicked and she fell on the lycan.
Was that a reflex? Her claws came out and she stabbed it’s side but she heard a chuckle. What amused him?
"What the hell? Let... let me go!" she tried to pull off from his body but his muscular arm held her in place.
As a last resort, Laurel kicked his balls, covered by the jacket, and jumped off when he let go. She huffed, glaring at the lycan.
Then she recognized him.
The one that had killed her guards. The one that poured wolfsbane on her mate. The one that nearly killed her at the kitchen at High Moon.
But she was no longer scared of him, she folded her arms. Here, she was the princess and she made it clear to his King. "What are you doing here, lycan?"
"It’s Slime." The lycan wore her jacket. "You wolves like calling lycans by lycan. Don’t you care about names?"
"Not yours." Laurel snapped. "So, why are you here?"
If he came to fetch more experiments for his King, then she’d kill him while he was still weakened. She saw his wounds weren’t healing but he didn’t react to it.
From the intensity she had tried pulling it out with, it’d have to reconnect nerves before it closed the wound.
"I came to see the Silent River owner because of a... hmm." Slime left the ground, he couldn’t remember. "I came because of a witch but I don’t know if I did..."
He sighed, scratching his head. He remembered everything till when he faced the werewolf. Somehow he got beaten down and then woke up in a torture room.
What happened in the torture room wasn’t clear to him but he guessed he was tortured hence why he went wild after being reminded of his painful past.
The pain he experienced still coursed through his body and numbing at some areas but he endured it. It was a better feeling to be wild in rage and losing himself.
He smiled at Laurel. "Well, whatever, you saved me so I’m thankful. Let’s be friends, huh, werewolf girl."
Laurel balled her fists. Friends? Wasn’t this lycan taking things too easily? He’d probably never seen her before but she knew all the atrocities he could do.
But she pretended to play along because she needed to know why the King send his loyal dog to silent River because of a witch.
Truly, as a Damancas citizen, Darren might know but sending a dog that usually delivered someone to him, Laurel wondered if the King expected a witch back.
If then, how did he plan to see one at Silent River?
"It’s probably Sir Darren that made him go wild." Laurel thought. "He then sent him out so that another lycan will handle him. I’m just unfortunate to have met him here."
Slime suddenly arranged his hair, when he got conscious to the fact he was in front of a pretty girl. "Your scent is familiar though." He mumbled.
Laurel rolled her eyes. After that time he nearly killed her in the kitchen, it should be. "Will you return now?"
She had to return back. Elma had gotten exercises that’d last a month. She had to resume her princess-ly duties.
"I am to see the Delta and Lead Warrior of Black Claws first. The King said to say hello. I dropped a notice to—" Slime sighed. "I didn’t drop a notice for the Delta."
Laurel walked away. How was that her problem?
Slime ran after her. "You are really good at dishing out pain though. That was really painful." He seems happy.
Laurel scowled. How did pain make him happy?
