Her Vengeful Lycan Alpha -

Chapter 161: Learner
Chapter Hundred-Sixty-One – Learner
The Princess was almost at her breaking point from the Lycan’s chattering. Was he a six year old?
Compared to his scary look with scars, and dark hair, he was rather bubbly and sorting out connections.
Laurel wondered if she could give in and fake being his friend, in hopes that she’d use it to her gain later.
But she wasn’t thrilled to make friends with a lycan, especially one that hurt others like they were bugs.
"And you see, I learnt two things today." Slime said, hastening his steps to match Laurel’s.
"Never underestimate a werewolf. I still don’t know how that weak traveler was able to beat me but he beat me good." Slime said soberly. "I’d never underestimate again."
That was a beautiful lesson Sir Darren thought him. Laurel nodded in approval.
"The second one is, werewolves can help me, like you did. In the torture room, it reminded me of King Asher’s lab experiments. It’s actually scary." Slime shuddered a bit.
Laurel stopped moving, she turned to him with an annoyed expression. "Did you have to experience it to know what it felt like?"
Slime didn’t know what the question meant but he nodded, replying as he understood. "Torture is scary and very painful, regardless of lycan or werewolf."
If that’s his summary, then it’s all good. Werewolves weren’t test subjects and he should know. She continued moving. "You learnt a lot from one visit."
Slime nodded proudly. "I’m actually a fast learner, the King said so." His smile faded. "The King might not agree with what I learnt though."
Laurel glanced at him, then sighed. She reached the entrance of Green Valleys and exhaled.
Because she had ran while in Elma’s wolf, she didn’t know how far the distance she covered was.
Elma didn’t want to shift while someone could see them so she had to walk in. The guards at Black Claws studied the lycan with her. Laurel and Slime stopped before them.
"This is the messenger from High Moon Kingdom. He’s here to see Delta Sigma and Lead Warrior—"
"Sir Slime, we heard of your notice. Come in, please!"
Laurel frowned at the warrior who interrupted. She walked herself in since Slime would be having people attend to him. But why did she still feel his energy following her?
"Do you want me to carve a hole in your chest?" she threatened so he’d stop following her.
Slime hurried to her side. "That wouldn’t be too bad, as long as it heals in time for me to leave."
Laurel glared at him. He was probably masochist. And how did he move after what she did to him at the forest?
She remembered how he had sprang up during his fight with Stefan. He always endured hits, or enjoyed them.
She stopped walking and turned to him. She was in front of Valkyrie’s quarters. "Leave, Slime. Do you get attached to anyone who help you?"
The lycan looked away. "Who said I got attached...? I just want to... make sure the girl who saved my life is safe."
"This is my home!" Laurel slapped her chest, scaring Slime. "And I’m it’s princess, I’m as safe as I can be."
The only dangers were lycans, like him, who put her in unsuspecting difficult spots.
But all Slime heard was ’princess’ and his thinking cap immediately switched to the one he used to deal with King Asher, another royalty he knew. "I’d be on my way then."
He was finally being obedient. Laurel nodded. "Your destination is at the palace. Don’t stray elsewhere."
Slime nodded firmly. "Yes, Princess. I’d take my leave."
Laurel noticed his change in tone but accepted it.
Slime moved away with stiffened almost rehearsed steps. If she was a princess then she couldn’t be his friend.
An abandoned child like him should even be lucky to be helped by two royalties in his lifetime.
He was allowed into the Delta’s quarters, and he stood there, trying to remember what exactly King Asher asked him to do with the Delta. "Say ’hi’, right?"
But Slime had never seen him before so didn’t know how his temper was. He was probably lycan so he didn’t need to be careful, like with werewolves.
Also he just needed to say the ’hi’ and hope the Delta accepted it. If he was anything like Delta Zara then he might pound his head asking for more after the ’hi’.
He knocked on the door, which had a visible scratch mark like a fight had happened there. Slime remembered his room’s door at his father’s quarters had something like that due to his constant fights.
The door swung open and he found a hefty young man before him. Slime hesitated, before clearing his throat.
"Hi, from the King Asher of High Moon Kingdom."
Sigma’s eyes tarried on him, before he nodded and closed the door.
Slime exhaled in relief. The Delta had been easy to talk to. He rushed out of the quarters.
The warriors were surprised to see him out after less than a minute but they directed him to the Lead Warrior’s quarters.
Slime had to pass through the warriors before he entered, the place smelled like sweaty bodies, reminding him of a bad memory.
When he got locked up for days without bath.
He tried to figure out the Lead Warrior amongst them but they all trained in the same pace.
"Huh, who are you?"
Slime turned to the one behind him. "Slime, messenger to the King of High Moon Kingdom. And you?"
"Not that it matter but I am Dylan. You came for Baxtard... Baxter, our great lead warrior." Dylan bit his tongue when he noticed his mistake.
He would really get thrown back to High Mountains at the rate he made mistakes, even in front of guests.
But luckily, Slime hadn’t noticed the difference between the two names. "Lead Warrior Baxter. I’d greet him now, from the King of High Moon."
After this, he’d finally go back to the King. Maybe, after some sleep, he’d remember the one thing bothering him.
He felt he shouldn’t return without it but he couldn’t place what it was. The King might help him. Like always.
