Chapter Hundred-Fifty-Two – Find Me A Witch

Slime had a slight pout as he cleaned the King’s wounds. Using his royal self as a test subject was a very risky move, even for him.

Some deeper wounds remained and with the moisture in the environment, as they were close to the waterfall, the wounds healed even slower.

"Are they dead though?"

"Why will I kill such fine specimens? I only knocked them out really well." Asher slapped his thighs. "They’d be the ultimate weapon for troublemaking."

So the King went through the trouble just to make weapon for troublemaking? Slime sighed internally.

It should be related to the magical bred lycans that Nether had reported. Instead of directly confronting them, it’d be so much easier using natural wolves.

Natural wolves would make good specimens too and they were abundant. The King must know this.

"Then, your highness, you’d not be needing much of me, right?" Slime asked, pointing at himself.

Asher stared at him, humming, then replied. "Of course, I do. I still need you to find more wolves, take these wolves to my troublemaking locations and find witches for me."

He patted Slime’s head. "As King, I’m quite restricted. And Nene’s and Nero’s activities are sometimes monitored by my father, so I’d rely on you a lot. That’s fine, right?"

Slime’s eyes sparkled, almost teary-eyed, feeling heavily touched by the King’s words. "Of course, I’d go for you. Don’t worry, I’d be your hands and legs—"

"Mouthpiece too." Asher gathered the syringes and drug in a box. "There’s a werewolf pack I’d like you to visit."

Slime scowled a bit. Wasn’t the King planning to replace natural wolves with werewolves? Why did he need another werewolf pack? Still, he didn’t dare refute.

"I need a witch and these one might know how to get me one." Asher left the ground. "You’d go for me, right?"

So the King didn’t need the werewolves, but information? Slime nodded. "Yes, I’d go... wait, you need a witch?"

That part hadn’t been registering in his head at all.

"Hmm. Bred lycans are lycans with magic of witches and ability to build ranks like werewolves. I need some magic myself to thoroughly defeat them, no?"

Slime didn’t know how to feel about it.

Witches were enemies to lycans and even if he knew the King only did what benefited him, he couldn’t help but think this was bad.

What if the witch turned against him and take him hostage, it’d be a really bad one for the King of lycans.

"Ah, wait, is that why the King wants me to go instead?" Slime realized, his jaw dropping.

He liked pain but witches wouldn’t give him pain but the fear of them, extensive torment, and that he didn’t like.

Still, he couldn’t refute. If he only need to get information about the witch and not the witch itself then it’s fine.

"I’d still go, your highness. Where’s this place?"

"Close to Black Claws." Asher walked out of the cave. "Their log was updated extensively yesterday. They’ve grown even bigger. Two werewolf packs."

It annoyed him, that a Lycan pack ’boasted’ of two werewolf packs. Werewolves were only good for test subjects. But Alpha Stefan didn’t understand that.

But the King’s initial irritation started when he saw the one who wrote the updated reports was Prince Sorren. The annoying soul still left ’Prince’ in his title.

And the explanation of the packs, Asher felt displeased that the Prince made the packs seem like important existence to the new Black Claws.

Perhaps, it’s a way to make no other lycan pack think ill of the werewolf packs and make him hesitate to attack.

"Always using his brain too much." Asher muttered.

Still, Asher’s concern hadn’t only been the packs, but their allies. One of them, Green Valleys, had Damancas as ally.

Asher remembered it was the bitchy princess’ pack. She kept gathering powerful allies to strengthen her pack. Another person unnecessarily using their brain too much.

"However," Asher told Slime, as if the lycan had been in his head during his internal monologue, "The ally that’s most interesting is Black Claws’ Silent River."

That pack was amongst Green Valleys’ Kingdom but got sold to a Damancas traveler. He must have good ties to magic as a Damancas citizen.

"I’d like you to pay them a visit from me and congratulate him as the first direct ally of a Lycan pack. Doesn’t matter if he is. Then ask him about the witches."

Slime frowned. "Just like that?"

"Just like that."

Slime gulped down saliva. He could die in this mission. If the owner owned witches then it’d be the end.

"Also, so Black Claws wouldn’t think we’re visiting their ally without meeting them, stop by and give my regards to their new lead warrior." Asher added.

In the future, they’d be even more interesting updates on Black Claws and the King hoped to check each one. That pack was always the most interesting.

He still hadn’t given up on breaking Sorren, but his interest had greatly declined.

"If you can say hello to Sigma, do. He’s just the one I can stand there. Remember, Silent River is important."

Slime saluted, then turned. "I should go immediately, right? And I don’t need those troublemaking wolves?"

Asher stopped moving, then swerved his head to Slime’s direction, a pleased grin spreading his lips. "That’s an awfully good idea. Why use it only for Lunaria?"

Slime began to think that was a bad idea, after all. The wolves should only cause trouble for the bred lycans, not for the ones under High Moon Kingdom.

"Y-Your highness, forget what I just said—"

Asher threw something to him and he caught it. Slime looked down at the syringe in his hand horridly.

"Share it with two or three wolves and the effect wouldn’t be too much. Exert dominance on them and you’d be able to control them... like magic." Asher winked.

Slime’s hand trembled, he pushed the syringe into his pocket being careful not to be forceful. "I’d go immediately. W-Wish me luck."

Asher continued moving. "You have it then."
