Chapter 134: Play Toy
Chapter Hundred-Thirty-Four – Play Toy
They weren’t even breaking a sweat. Nene’s eyes shook in their sockets. All the other members were dead except the leader fighting desperately.
The way the lycans fought reminded Nene of King Asher, nonchalantly and like they were having fun. They probably were. Watching life fleet from their prey was fun.
Still Nene knew Fang wasn’t over yet. As opposed to Lorena’s claim to wipe out Fang, these were just one squad under Fang.
The boss was the general head of Fang and had more than twenty squads with twenty leaders.
But Fang never avenged their own and termed any member’s death as due to their own weakness, so all that died here, died in vain. "Victoria, let’s go."
Since Fang couldn’t finish their job, they didn’t have any chance to find the ones who attacked the King.
Nene became grateful that it were rogues the attacker used and not bred Lycans or else the damage would’ve been much more. "Victoria?"
But the witch stayed back, clenching her chest. How could she just leave her found family and run away?
She detached from the witches years ago and Fang was the only place that accepted her despite she being their nemesis.
How could she fail in her simple job of healing them? "I have to... I have to heal them."
She tried stepping down but Nene pulled her back, just in time for something, someone to be slammed on the cliff below them.
The cliff reverberated and some rocks fell, Nene held Victoria’s mouth as she muffled a scream.
Levine looked shocked, seeing his sister under the rubble. She must be having a lot of fun. He turned to the leader, bloody and breathing heavily.
His grip on his scythe tightened as he noticed Lorena stand again. She bent her neck left and right, a wry smile on her face. "I’ve decided, Brother! I’m not killing this one."
Should that make him happy? The leader wiped his forehead. He knew he was past his breaking point. He wasn’t sure if his body could still move anymore.
Those big swings he made took a toll on him but her swings should be heavier yet she still looked lively. How could he not have any effect on her?
The hit to the cliff was the best he had done and she was walking out of it, unscathed. He flexed his claws.
Perhaps if he made her drop her weapon then they could switch to close combat, he should have better advantage there.
He glanced at Levine. That one was still a threat even if he was being laid back.
The leader faced Lorena again. "Even if I kill one, I don’t care what happens afterwards."
Lorena dragged her axe behind her as she strolled toward the leader. "Don’t stress much, just have fun. I’ve decided not to kill you, you’d live to keep entertaining me."
The leader staggered back, trying to create a distant while he regulated his breaths. "I’d rather die."
Lorena shook her head. "I said, you’re not dying!" She lifted her axe and ran to him, crashing it on his scythe he blocked with.
She pushed it down, making him kneel on one leg. A psychotic grin crept to her lips. "You’d make a good submissive play toy."
Those words stirred the leader, he rolled away, and her axe fell to the ground. Immediately, he swung his scythe at her head and she missed it by a hair width.
Levine frowned. Why was the leader suddenly being active? With all the blood seeping from him, he should have dropped already?
Nene bit her lower lip, watching the leader. Lorena must have triggered him.
Calling him a submissive play toy had reminded him of his past sexual abuse by his old family.
But it’d only make him fight recklessly and be killed, which he’d prefer to experiencing such treatment again.
Lorena dodged another attacked, then raised her axe but he blocked it immediately and sent a kick to her side.
That was the second direct hit he had given her. The leader immediately pulled the scythe back and drove it down but she dodged again by a hairs width.
Another kick went to her side at the direction she moved, to dodge. She gritted her teeth.
He charged at her, without giving her breathing space, and swing his weapon.
But then it clashed with something and the force threw him back, slamming him on a wall.
Victoria ran to him but Nene jumped on her, covering her mouth. Nene realized it too. Lorena had used her magic.
A mocking laughter erupted from Levine. "Didn’t you tell me not to use magic and fight like a man? He cornered you, didn’t he?"
Lorena spat out, glaring at the leader on the ground, her eyes were a shade of grey. "I’m reconsidering keeping him alive now."
It should be barrier magic. Nene thought. Only barrier magic was strong enough to push the leader back and worse, it was invincible to all but the user.
The leader forced his body to leave the ground but his hand only trembled. His body begged to remain down but he refused, neglecting their cries.
No one would use him as a play toy, ever again!
He looked up and saw Levine’s hand heating up, pointing at him. Finally, they should just kill him instead.
Lorena looked away, having a sour expression. "Kill him, brother. He was fun but not good fun."
There was a blast. A hole burned inside the leader’s chest, he drew his last breathe before falling to the ground. His grip on his scythe released.
Nene closed her eyes, trying to stay calm. They were all dead now. She had no reason to remain here.
Still she was wary. Lorena had noticed there were eight. Would she come after them? She peeked at her right, and saw Lorena stomping back into the border.
She was probably in a bad mood and forgotten about them. Nene exhaled, she shifted her gaze to her brother.
She immediately jumped back, standing in a defensive position. He spotted her! His eyes were on her when she looked at him! He’d definitely go after her!
"You are not with Fang, are you?"
Nene couldn’t speak, she kept Victoria behind her, anticipating when he’d come to them.
"Well, if you were with them you’d come after us. If you’re not, return to where you came from. I’m not fond of killing girls my sister’s age, if they don’t provoke me."
He could even determine her gender and age? She only met his gaze just once! They must have really good instincts.
Nene didn’t wait any longer. She grabbed Victoria and sprinted into the forest, away from Lunaria.
These bred Lycans were monsters. King Asher had to know and think properly before attacking werewolves.
