Chapter 130: Leave

Chapter Hundred-Thirty – Leave

The place was crowded, it was hard to move. Yet Laurel managed to maneuver her way towards Cade and Jessika. Ferdinand didn’t follow her.

"Cade." She called. "Did something happen?"

Jessika gazed at her with pleading eyes but Laurel didn’t understand what she meant. It’s been weeks since she last saw her and they had a lot to catch up on.

"I came to return her to you so you wouldn’t accuse me of any other thing. She’s officially freed from the kitchen." The Beta informed.

Laurel pulled Jessika from his side, towards her. "That’s nice. You didn’t have to, I’m sure she could walk herself."

Cade ignored her and looked up at the people swarming a hall. "What is happening here? Are they all homeless?"

Actually they were. Laurel turned to the Beta’s servants. Their home had been taken by the new Beta, Cade, so they practically had no where to go.

"It’d be such a hassle if they all lived at Valkyrie’s place even if it had many rooms. We’d have to disperse them." She mumbled, gaining Jessika’s worried gaze.

The princess turned to Cade, wondering why he still stood there. "Jessika, find Lisa, you will live at the Lead Warrior’s quarters with me."

Cade turned to her. "Such place exist?"

Did they want to take it too? Laurel folded her arms. Lead Warrior quarters weren’t common in packs either but their case was special. Also, Black Claws had no lead warrior.

"We are free even if we’re under your governance but our Beta and Delta quarters is still...whatever."

Cade didn’t quite understand what she meant but easily accepted to forget it. He watched Jessika leave before he facing the Princess. "Sorren told me, about his mother."

Laurel’s folded arms released. About his mother killing hers? Could it change anything now? "And so?"

Cade frowned. Truly, and so? He shouldn’t have brought it up. Sorren had told him randomly but the realization had made Cade somewhat guilty.

If that was really how it happened then The Alpha King of Green Valleys wasn’t just trying to end Black Claws but take revenge for his mate, which made a bit of sense.

Still, it was a stupid move and he paid for it.

Cade turned away. "Forget it. It doesn’t matter anymore. If my Alpha knew that yet still asked that we attack then that’s it, everything was meant to be."

Laurel narrowed her eyes at him, with clenched fists. So Stefan knew about it too? But what did she expect? She released her clenched fists.

Everyone just needed to keep on living, not move on because she could never forget it, but keep living.

"Anytime a lycan try to use our market, can I be informed first? My people aren’t used to a lycan’s presence." Laurel changed the topic.

Recently, a female Lycan tried shopping in the midst of Green Valleys pack members and the omega shop owner convulsed out of fear.

It was embarrassing, but her people will have to get used to their new neighbors even if it’d take time.

"Alpha is trying to make markets days and all that. Till it’s done, I can’t tell you anything. See them as guests and your warriors can follow them around for extra caution."

Laurel exhaled. "Fine." She can make do with that. "And you should know your presence affects them, so leave."

Cade clicked his tongue. The princess had no filter, did she? Laurel watched him till he was far gone. She returned to the people.

The people turned to her when she got close. It was probably the best time to make an announcement.

"Is there anyone who still has their house taken by a Black Claws warrior?" she started, her eyes went around and no one lifted a hand.

It wasn’t all of them but since she was by a market, many home owners will be nearby. "I’d say again. Work on your farms and handworks so we can start exporting again."

The major packs that bought their exports had been High Mountains and Damancas, it could still work again, despite the major changes in High Mountains inhabitants.

There were gleeful chatters at the mention of exportation. Laurel raised her voice and spoke again. "We will also need to train warriors to support Green Valleys."

Some young female wolves looked at themselves and Laurel nodded. "Yes, both female and male, starting from hunter rank. If you can’t upgrade, then be a hunter."

In their current situation, they had few use for hunters.

Their last batch had been brutally reduced by the Lycan sent by King Asher so it was better they trained warriors who had better chances against Lycans.

Also hunters who scouted for rogues will not be needed since Black Claws warriors were active. They will take advantage of that.

"Princess." A young mother, holding a small boy, raised her hand and spoke. "The elders said all of our officials died. How do we elect new officials?"

From her mannerism, Laurel suspected that the young mother was probably a well trained maid. "We have a Beta, Lead Warrior, Lead Hunter, in training."

Green Valleys hadn’t gotten a Delta for a while but that could change soon. "Officials or not, we will be surviving. The warrior’s training and exportation are priorities now."

She looked at the hoard of homeless servants that were saved with Ferdinand. "All females ranked lower than warrior rank should follow Lisa to her quarters."

Lisa waved in the crowd so she’d be identified. Funny enough, all the females were lower than warrior rank.

"The males will stay at the Lead Warrior’s quarters, you’re all becoming warriors." Laurel imposed, despite the worry on their faces.

They glanced at Ferdinand, who did nothing but close his eyes. The male servants heaved a sigh. "Yes, Princess."

Laurel looked back at the people. "And lastly, the lycans might not stay here forever but the ones at High Mountains are there to stay, get used to it."

She noticed few women gossip within themselves but she looked away. If they fault her for being unable to chase the Lycans completely then they could try being in her shoes for a day.

Still, she noticed them grumble and walk away from the crowd. It dampened her mood despite how much she didn’t want to care.

"That’s all." She suddenly said, and left for Valkyrie’s place.

She noticed more grumbles rise and the crowd slowly dispersed. She bit her lower lips. She had to get used to hateful people.
