Chapter 118: Arcadia
Chapter Hundred-Eighteen – Arcadia
(Kingdom of Damancas, Main Palace)
Inside the tall walls of the palace, adorned with rubies and red stones, a tall soldier in a white armor with golden pleats marched towards the Main Hall.
The soldier was greeted by two guards in front of the huge white gate that stood as entrance to the palace. The soldier nodded in response and strolled in.
Inside, the soldier took off their helmet, and flung their golden brown hair proudly, their blue eyes shimmering with pride at another victory.
With knees to the ground, the soldier greeted. "Hail The King! Hail The Queen! Arcadia Nanika had returned with another victory! Barona has been defeated!"
On the podium sat the King on a high throne having every inch of its golden body covered in emerald. The Queen’s throne had similar grandeur.
A soft smile graced the Queen’s face and her brown eyes gazed lovingly upon the General at her feet. "Rise, my dear Arcadia. With another victory, I give you the Second Prince’s hand in—"
"I refuse, your Highness!" Arcadia bellowed with a frown.
There was silence in the room.
Then the King broke into a guffaw, patting his pouting wife gently. The Queen looked away from Arcadia, her fingers tapping the arms of her throne.
"Now, Now, Arcadia. Our son isn’t so bad. He might be the next King to Damancas, you know, and you’re a strong reliable woman." The King kept on laughing.
Arcadia huffed. That was all the more reason she’d want to avoid the second Prince.
She was a strong and reliable woman and that lazy Prince wouldn’t hesitate to leech off her.
"That said," The King stood from his throne. "Thank you, Arcadia, for having your forces quell down the rising tensions in Barona! I highly appreciate it!"
Arcadia lowered her head. "Only performing my duty, your highness! I’m not worthy of your praises!"
The King smiled at her words. "Rise now, Arcadia."
The General bowed before she rose to her feet. Noticing the Queen looking away, Arcadia decided to face the King. No way will she bound herself to that useless Prince.
"Your highness, I also bring news from the spy at Green Valleys. There’s been a development there." Arcadia stepped forward, handing a letter to the King.
The Queen turned to her, curious about the letter.
"Has the poor princess been killed? Goddess! We should’ve ignored all laws we made in the alliance and attack those Lycans. How could they do this to Titus?!"
A smirk came to the King’s face, he shifted the letter to his wife to read. "So she found a way to coexist with those wild animals? She’s a really brave girl."
As the Queen read the letter, her eyes widened. She held her cheeks gleefully. "Wah! What a brave girl indeed! Don’t you think she’d make an amazing wife for my son!"
Arcadia bowed her head, with gritted teeth and dared to say. "Your highness, I don’t think this princess will want to marry your son!"
There was a second silence before the Queen hit her throne’s arms rest. "What does that mean, Arcadia? My beautiful boy is..."
The King rubbed his face tiredly, thinking about the letter. It was truly impressive that the young princess could convince her conquerors to let them live.
Before the attack, they had been almost no information about her. Titus had only told him one time that he had a daughter. All he mostly spoke of was his late wife.
"W-What I mean..." Arcadia chuckled nervously. "Right... I mean, the princess might not want the second Prince because she hasn’t even met him. No girl will want to be married to a man she’s never met before."
The Queen calmed down, seeing sense in her words. She hummed. "I can’t plan a marriage immediately then."
Arcadia’s shoulders fell. It’d be better if the Queen plans no marriage at all. The Princess will be so disappointed to know the Prince was a bum.
"Arcadia!"
Arcadia’s shoulder straightened. "Yes, my King."
"This letter is indeed timely, I already spoke with your twin brother to prepare an army to evade Green Valleys and give the people back their land." The King said.
Arcadia swallowed lump of saliva. She heard as a side note that warrior survivors of Green Valleys had attacked but they were easily conquered by only two Lycans.
"I-It’s fortunate that the Princess took the land then. Our army fighting Lycans... and we have no idea how many Lycans are there." She said. "It’s truly timely."
"That land will be the closest Lycan settlement to us." The Queen had a serious expression. "I hope the Princess will manage them well. They are still in her land after all."
There was silence in the hall again.
"We can also help by marrying our son to her, you know!" the Queen started again. "Call him for me!"
Arcadia’s feet rooted to the ground.
"No need for a marriage, my Queen." The King had to react. "I’m actually looking forward to what this princess can do by herself."
Arcadia subtly nodded. "Then, I’d take my leave, your highness—"
"But call the Prince, Arcadia." The King added. "There’s something he can do for us at Green Valleys."
She bowed. "I’d do so, your highness."
With reluctant steps, she left the palace and climbed the long stairs down to the Prince’s quarters. She paused at the entrance, looking tiredly at the guards.
The two female guard gave her an encouraging thumbs up and Arcadia couldn’t help but smile.
She breathed in and out before waltzing in, replacing her helmet on her head. "Excuse me, Princes!"
Three pair of eyes shifted to her yet she didn’t have the attention of the ones she called. A line flashed on her head as she stared at the naked girls on top of the three Princes.
While other three half naked girls, the ones that turned to her, massaged their royal bodies.
Arcadia rubbed her eyes, wishing she could unsee what the Princes were doing to the girls but her eyes could only rot while in her sockets.
She sighed, drawing out her sword. "Let’s just get this over with."
