Her Vengeful Lycan Alpha -
Chapter 111: Disagreement
Chapter 111: Disagreement
Chapter Hundred-Eleven – Disagreement
Either Stefan forgot about her request or he ignored it.
Laurel paced in front of the maid quarters, gritting her teeth at the thought that a week later, nothing has been done to make Green Valleys a pack under Black Claws.
She had told the maids about it but they didn’t react excitedly. She knew they probably didn’t think it’d happen but Laurel was determined.
Lisa felt better but Laurel knew it wouldn’t be easy for her to face any of the of guards after that.
The princess was yet to see Jessika but heard from Valkyrie that Beta Cade had prioritized the cooks safety during the attack even if the warriors didn’t go after them.
It sounded awfully weird to Laurel that Cade prioritized others safety but he might be growing into his role as a Beta.
She stopped pacing and watched him come to her.
"So?" she asked Sigma. She noticed that he had another growth spurt or it looked like it, just two weeks she didn’t see him.
The boy hummed, staring at Laurel intently. "Why do you want to know what the Alpha is up to though?"
"Well, we had a deal. Is he crying over the warriors that died? My people have recovered already." Laurel said that so he’d counter it with the actual reason."
It worked as Sigma frowned. "Huh? Why will the Alpha cry? He’s not crying. He’s actually arranging transportation for the Lycans—"
He realized and his shoulder fell. "I shouldn’t tell you."
He peered at her again. "I don’t know what other hidden squads you are hiding. I don’t want them to ambush the ones we’re bringing."
Well, he already told her everything. Laurel scoffed internally. So Stefan finally decided to bring in the survivors of his old Kingdom into Black Claws?
"Then it’s important that Green Valleys is a pack under Black Claws or else these new Lycans will oppress our people." Elma suggested.
Laurel knew what she had to do but it wasn’t only her decision. That Alpha had to agree.
Living with Lycans who hated Green Valleys will be harder for her people than it was for her at High Moon were the Lycans had no personal vendetta with her.
Still, if they were on an equal footing, the oppression wouldn’t be anything massive.
Also, these are survivors from fifteen years ago, like Sigma, they might be too young to understand fully what happened.
They might just see the people of Green Valleys as who to be wary off but not to great extents.
"I can’t believe we’re about to be living with Lycans." Laurel mouthed. She remembered how stuffy High Moon had been, now she’d be living it without wearing a charm.
"Don’t forget some of the survivors might be werewolves!" Elma snapped at her. "And stop panicking before you’d have another breakdown"
Laurel flushed in embarrassment. "I don’t break down all the time, Elma! Who do you think I am?"
"Huh?" Sigma wondered why she suddenly became red.
Laurel wiped off the flushed expression. "W-What I’m saying, Sigma, is..." she looked at him. "The Lycan Alpha King was... impressed that Black Claws had a werewolf pack."
"Huh?" he did it again.
Laurel clenched her jaw. Did he only understand things that are beaten into him? "And Alpha Stefan said that, we, surviving Green Valleys members, can come under him."
She studied his expression for disagreement or contempt but instead he smiled. "I see. So that’s why..."
She nodded proudly. "That’s what Alpha Stefan should—"
"So that’s why Alpha Stefan and Beta Cade had that disagreement." Sigma hummed, nodding at his words.
Disagreement? Laurel’s palm became sweaty. Had Stefan already told the officials about it? He didn’t waste much time then.
Truly, she had factored in that Cade might not be co-operative. Still Stefan was the Alpha, what he say should stick.
"Well, Cade doesn’t want it." Sigma told her.
"A-And you?" Laurel hoped he’d be cooperative. Sorren might not mind it, and if Stefan agreed, it’s just left to Sigma to pick his side.
"Well, anything Prince Sorren says. I don’t even care."
Laurel exhaled. It’s a really beautiful thing that he was Sorren’s yes-man. She’d have to put more effort to make sure that Sorren agreed.
"In that case, I hope the Lycans that are being transported have a safe entry in." Laurel said in a prayerful tone.
"And werewolves. Lycans and werewolves." Sigma corrected. Laurel raised a brow. Did be expect her to pray again?
"Well, then Lycans and Werewolves, I hope they are all transported safely and live in peace with my people." She placed her palm together in prayers.
She noticed Sigma nod. Such a child. Couldn’t he make his own prayers to the moon goddess?
"Are you expecting someone from amongst them?" she grinned. "A girl? Your mate? Are you betrothed..."
"My cousin." Sigma frowned. "What’s a girl?"
Laurel turned pale. What’s a girl?
"He’s the current lead warrior of our pack." Sigma clenched his fists. "And I want that position."
Could he hear himself? Laurel shook her head pitifully. A Delta had more power than a lead warrior.
She also remembered that the role belonged to his late father so he might only want it because of that.
Still, he was impressive to attain a Delta rank while his father was a lead warrior so he could leave it to his cousin.
"Do you miss him or he’s your rival?" she kept on asking.
A scowl came to Sigma’s face, something Laurel didn’t usually see in him.
"Why will I miss him? He reminds me of Cade in an annoying way." Sigma sighed. "I want him to come so I’d defeat him. It’s why I have been training for long."
So he longed for a duel? Laurel strolled back to the maid’s quarters. That was so boring and would probably end with him winning since he’s Delta ranked.
Why did he covet a lead warrior position so much when he was a Delta? He was really a simple-minded child.
What actually worried Laurel the most was, his cousin reminded him of Cade.
From her perspective, Sigma had some fear towards Cade and only defied him when backed up by Sorren that Cade seemed to avoid offending.
In other words, Sigma might fear this cousin, either a trauma or because the cousin was older.
Laurel hoped that’s all to it. It shouldn’t be a Cade second version that’d come to torment she and her people again.
