Chapter 139: Busted!!!

Constantine began to fill in all the blanks for Martin, Hanz and Angela so that they could raid the ranch. But first he wanted to make sure that his brothers were going to be safe during all of this.

"We’ll walk in there with a search and seizure warrant. We will lock everything down—no one on or off the ranch. The owner will be placed in cuffs, all financials will be seized, all accounts will be locked. He will have access to nothing. All surveillance cameras, everything will be blacked out before we get there. So, tell me when are you expected to be back there tonight, so that we can coordinate with a bus route because it’s not gonna be a public busing system—it’s going to be our right at one and full of agents of the GBI," Martin started out.

Constantine was feeling a little bit better about the whole situation, but he still couldn’t help but worry about Rusty the baby. He knew Eli and Richie would be okay once they saw him.

They had three hours to get everything together for the raid. Martin had no problem getting all the paperwork, getting everything going, the bus in route with Constantine on board.

As they were getting ready to go, Zach stepped up. "Ty’s going and I will too, to make sure that there’s an easy transition. I’ve already spoken to Tony, and the Z1 will have someone there at that ranch watching over those people to make sure that they’re safe and secure. We will have a private security detail with armed security standing by that place until we can transfer them all here in new homes."

Constantine couldn’t believe that he was hearing this from a human no less, someone that he was taught to fear his entire life, and this human was willing to help them. Nothing made sense—this was a new world that he stepped into when he went to the Z1.

Zach had a sinking feeling in his stomach as the bus approached the ranch. Something was off—this stunk of corporate. The bus pulled into the front drive and Constantine stepped off, holding his stomach and playing the part as if he had been recently bred. Two larger figures came to meet him, one of them grabbed his arm and started to drag him off. He broke loose and ran to his siblings who were waiting near the outbuilding. Before they could catch up with them, the team pounced on the ranch.

The place was soon swarming with GBI agents. One by one, all of the caretakers and workers were lined up in seated position down the main sidewalk by the bus. Martin had the privilege of applying the handcuffs to the owner. He placed a gag on him and dragged him like a rackknar and dumped him on the ground in front of everyone. When the all clear sign was given, Zach and Ty exited the bus and stepped foot on the newest Z1 property for the first time.

Agents went to every hovel—that was the best way to describe the housing on this ranch, not fit for human nor Genmen either. They announced themselves and had everyone gather at the front of the ranch so that certain new rules could be given to them and they could make their choice of what they wished.

Ty was the first to start out. He introduced himself to the crowd and told them he would be putting everything in order with the ranch, that there would be a lot of changes, there would be some new rules here on the ranch, but most importantly, the living conditions would vastly improve. But for them to make it happen, they had to work together as a team. There would be some new construction people coming in from Hawthorne enterprises to go over any kind of repairs that needed to be made temporarily until they could be moved to a new location with a new home. Ty asked a couple of questions about the production of the nectar and the pricing.

An older Genmen stood up. "I produce every morning. I pump, I give it to them when they come for it, they weigh it out and I get my money. They give me a fair price at two Cronaks per ounce."

Ty smiled. "Sir, you have been cheated. The current price for quality mature produced nectar is 800 Cronaks per ounce, not 8 Cronaks per ounce. When we sell it at the end of the week, you will receive 50% of any and all funds received from the sale of the nectar. Prices sometimes do fluctuate, but they always fluctuate up because I’ve got ironclad contracts for my vendors, and the Genmen will never go without on any Z1 controlled or owned property."

The older gentleman announced himself as Jedediah and asked Ty how this was possible. "If the owner here couldn’t get anything out of the nectar, how can you guarantee this?"

"Because, Sir, I’m a hybrid—yes, I’m three quarters Genmen and a quarter human, and I have no reason to lie to anyone. The gentleman sitting right there is the owner of the Z1, and I’m proud to call him my grandfather. We are treated as family at the Z1. No one is over top of or better than anyone else. We live in harmony alongside our human brethren. No one is ever forced to do anything that they don’t wish," Ty explained.

"When it comes to our cycle season, my grandfather likes everyone to conceive basically at the same time so that the children are all grown up together. If you feel that you don’t want to be pregnant that season, then you don’t have to conceive a child at all. As long as you have one at least once every three years."

"I didn’t know that any place such as the Z1 existed around here. We’re so far in debt to the master that we couldn’t leave. Sometimes others did leave and left the debt to their children to pay, such as in Constantine’s case," Jedediah was taken back.

Constantine stood up. "I would like for everyone to know that I was not bred. Mr. Zach would not allow it. He said I have enough on my plate raising my siblings that I don’t need any more babies to drag me down, especially not at my age. I have things to learn—I need to learn how to cook and I need to learn how to fit in to the lifestyle they are and enter into a career of my choice. Yes, I have a choice of what I want to do with my life because I am in charge of me, as all of you can be too and will be now that the Z1 has taken over here."

Ty went out into the group and started talking to them one-on-one, assuring them that everything was going to be okay. "As soon as we can get some new housing at the Z1, those who wish to move can move there. But if you intend to stay here, the place will be going to auction, and the new owners may not want Genmen here because let’s face it—the houses these are shacks that are barely good enough for rackknar, much less Genmen with children."

Zach assured them all that food was being sent in on transports so that there would be plenty to eat. There would be no more empty bellies here and certainly not any mash for them to consume.

Constantine said some goodbyes and had the boys pick up what they could, though it wasn’t much that they owned to take to their new home. Richie asked if they still had to sleep on the floor at the new place on a pallet like they did now.
