Chapter 136: Side Story: One Day In Qi Yu Life (Part 3)
It was also enchanted with dark magic, so even a single slash could reduce the monster to dust.
Not far away, Noel fought as well.
Qi Yu always thought Noel’s fighting style was graceful—almost beautiful.
From his fingertips, he conjured fine threads of magical energy, weaving them into deadly strands that slashed through enemies like silk slicing flesh.
The threads moved freely, with adjustable tension and strength.
Against the backdrop of the dark night, their faint purple glow gave even the carnage an oddly dreamlike quality.
Soon, most of the monsters had been cleared out.
The mid-level ones lured in by the bait were now turned into ash.
Three of the four large-size monsters had also been taken down—only one remained.
"You haven’t lost your touch at all, Yu. Seriously, come and help me out more often," Noel said.
"If they start multiplying again, I’ll come."
"It’d be a lot easier if you just helped all the time."
"Well, in that case, would you like to take over looking after Malrik?"
"...On second thought, I’m good," Noel muttered.
Qi Yu laughed at the genuinely troubled look on Noel’s face.
He didn’t think Malrik was that difficult to deal with, but Noel clearly disagreed.
Despite being introduced through Nabe, Noel never seemed eager to interact with Malrik more than necessary.
At that moment, a heavy, echoing thud sounded from deep within the forest.
The sheer weight behind it was unlike any of the other undead monsters, and both Qi Yu and Noel instantly tensed.
What emerged was a towering monster so massive it had to be looked up at.
"A three-headed chimera, huh..."
With the heads of a dragon, lion, and mountain goat, a body like a tiger’s, and a snake for a tail, the enormous creature glared down at the smaller prey before it.
The lion’s head was already growling.
"This looks troublesome. Noel, stall it for me," Qi Yu said.
"Alright, just don’t get me caught up in it," Noel replied, already understanding what Qi Yu was planning.
He moved away to confront the chimera alone, giving Qi Yu the space he needed.
From a safe distance, Qi Yu began conjuring a sphere of black and violet light in his hands.
In magic, visualization was key.
If the caster could clearly imagine the scale, the effect, and the aftermath, no incantation was needed.
That was what Nabe—the one who had taught Qi Yu magic—had always said, and it held true.
Qi Yu poured his vision into the sphere.
A black pit spreading at the monster’s feet—a swampy mire that dragged its prey down without mercy.
Those who struggled would be seized by hands stretching out from the darkness.
Once swallowed, there would be no escape, only the void.
A descent into absolute nothingness.
"Noel, fall back!" he shouted.
Noel, who had just sliced off the goat’s horn with magical threads and pinned the lion head to the ground, reacted immediately, retreating behind Qi Yu.
Qi Yu released the sphere and dropped it to the ground, positioning it beneath the chimera’s torso.
"Sink into the abyss."
The trigger words could be anything—what mattered was that the intent was clear.
As soon as he spoke, the darkness expanded.
Countless arms emerged from the void, wrapping around the chimera’s massive body and dragging it downward.
No matter how it thrashed, it could not resist.
Slowly, the bottomless pit consumed it entirely, and then the darkness calmly receded.
"Your magic’s always so brutal, Qi Yu," Noel muttered from behind him.
"Is it?" Qi Yu replied.
Despite Noel’s grumbling, their work for the day was complete.
They gave each other a high five to celebrate the success of their mission.
After returning to the castle and washing away the sweat, Qi Yu made his way to the bedroom—only to be greeted by a very displeased figure.
A tall man suddenly approaching him and pressing a biting kiss to Qi Yu’s lips.
"Do bad boys who can’t follow orders need to be punished?" came the low, irritated whisper in his ear.
Qi Yu’s heart gave a slight jump.
Enveloped in those strong arms, he chuckled and nuzzled his nose against the man’s chest.
"I don’t mind. If it’s something you give me, even punishment is welcome."
Because whatever form it took, Qi Yu knew it would be filled with love.
Nothing felt like punishment to him.
He understood that this anger came from worry, and that knowledge made him unafraid of anything.
Looking up at that troubled expression, Qi Yu pulled the man in for a kiss.
It deepened, and little by little, the need between them grew.
Qi Yu was lifted up and thrown onto the bed, where his beloved demon king climbed on top of him.
"You’re such a handful. Any injuries?" the man asked.
"None. But if you want, Malrik, you can check for yourself."
"Oh, I will."
The bathrobe was stripped away, and when those burning lips touched his skin, Qi Yu trembled to his core.
Every lingering caress, every hesitant touch stirred him deeply.
The one who had taught him that intimacy could be something more than just physical desire—his touch never failed to overwhelm.
No matter how many times their bodies met, Qi Yu never grew used to it.
He was always undone in the blink of an eye.
Qi Yu welcomed Malrik’s rising desire.
As his body was claimed and explored, he responded eagerly, clinging to the man who held him, pressing kisses wherever he could.
The possessiveness bloomed—he didn’t want to share this man with anyone.
He intertwined their heat and emotions, as if to take it all in.
"I love you, Malrik," he whispered between gasps.
Malrik’s deep violet eyes sparkled gently with tender affection.
Qi Yu clung to him, accepting the fire buried deep inside.
This moment—pierced with such certainty and devotion—was Qi Yu’s greatest happiness.
He melted into the fervent kisses that declared he would never be let go.
Malrik was his one and only.
And sleeping in his arms every night was Qi Yu’s greatest peace.
